one of the FIRST things i did when they added shields to the game was unbind them from X so they wouldn't keep being turned off by accident
Yep, control-x has been a lifesaver as has a 2X NOR called Shields with the Teleporter input signal.
There's another quote for a future intro. "How did he get IN me?..."
You can turn off targeting drones on the auto miners they will still work as normal.
Don't look in a box during asteroid mining. And adjust targeting according to description otherwise it may target for things you don't want.
And Change Shield Hotkey!!!

Mine doesn’t work even with the right settings, they just don’t mine any sense asteroids. Real bummer :(

Perhaps, when demonstrating new aspects of the scenario/upgrades, you should also show the tool tips and signal configuration for the new part. I was flummoxed by the settings of the new alarm sentry for a bit. Nice play through so far. Any tips on finding the good trading pois?
Is anyone else experiencing that thing that Spanj had happen here where a hostile CV seems to disappear from one spot and appear in another all of a sudden?
I hope it's a known bug, because players on my server are reporting it too
oh yeah, thats a common issue. Although will only get fixed if it can be reproduced in vanilla and reported to Eleon
@@Spanj Thanks for the confirmation. I hadn't seen this before 1.10 so I assume it's rather new. Last time I reported a bug to Eleon I did a 3 hour session on their official server, which I streamed to Twitch, then chopped up into video clips and made like 10 thorough bug reports from it. Half of them were not even triaged for weeks and over half were ultimately marked as could not reproduce and abandoned. One of the could not reproduce bugs was later stealth fixed, it was one where if you warp a second time before an existing warp animation finishes, you can break the entire screen, which they "fixed" by just making the game not let you press the M key for a long time after a warp lol.

I put 24 sentry guns on CV's just for drones. They are cheap on CPU and resources. With 12 on the top and 12 on the bottom, they rip up drones fairly quickly.
10x drills, 10x turrets use both at once for rapid mining 😊

Make Surge great again with Heavy Shield generator and couple shield parts by removing RCSs.
Entertaining as always good Sir. Please read the description in the p menue and configure your rich harvesters so they don't shoot anything but the asteroids^^
Imho the whole reducing of shield-hp and every weapon reduces schield also is utterly stooopid plus sv-blocks have the strength of toilet paper. Then add lag and all that - man it sucks the fun out it really fast. I love this game (8000+hrs in RE) but it needs major bugfixing and optimization aaand more variaty in creatures and aliens.
You can now mine while being seated but care about not look in the box while doing it. Also i often mine in this system and i was thinking about making it my base faction one xD .
the game cant use the box while you're acessing it. thats why somethimes you see the asteroid vanishing but you dont get the ores.
I thought the game kept using it but you just dont get a realtime display of its contents and have to close and reopen to see changes

You don't have to have them target everything. Clicking on one will tell you what to target and then they dont' attack stuff =) Also remap so that X is not shields anymore =)
that was patched out, you can now be in the pilot seat wile mining.
Auto mining turrets have specific settings. It should not work if you don't specify your settings

You need to find or buy the schematics, you can get them if you are lucky in rare and ultra-rare loot containers or buy them from a colonist scrap yard

Turning off shields is something you do quite often ;) My Power is bind to z out of the way Shield got no Shortcut..
The Shield and Power Shortkeys are both something i rather deactivate completely and only use the P Menu or put to some keybindings realy far away from everything
EGS could use an overhaul of the keybindings and a rethinking how the toolbar and PDA Access works.
There is no reason shield and power could not be F11 and F12 for example or shift F1 and F2. The Factory and Techtree not realy needs a shortcut key it could be F1 -> Pda and Mouse or use Arrow or A and D to switch to the other tabs there.
Yea well.. EGs and RE needs to get out of the long lasting Alpha state and grow up to a real Game ;)
Also.. you realise the Shields are weakened with last Updates? you have to upgrade to Heavy Shield Gen and put some Shield Capacitors and Chargers in your Builds.. even in your SV. (and yes this works also with full set of Standard Cpu Extenders)
I put shields to backspace. So there is a hotkey and you will not click it accidently.
