Studio gear comes under 'keyboard section I guess? The amp modelling here sounds awesome.. Marcus has great chops and that 335 sounds the mutts nuts through this setup.

Wow that sounds so good! I’d never considered anything like this but sounds incredible. Would you just run the guitar into your interface and then output to some studio speakers?

@@jessesmit2907 yep. you can use it live. A lot of people use them in home studios and jack right into the interface and plop a track right in. I highly suggest you give it a go. Recording and getting the basics down really isn't that hard.

It sounds pretty good though. It's basically a Soundtoys style effects rack that came along way before the Soundtoys effects rack. And of course an amp emulator etc. The first amp, Chicago, and the second, Fire Breather (whatever that is) sounded excellent. I never thought I'd say those words about software. Guitar rig isn't considered a serious amp simulation like some of the other players but I don't know man....I think this is pretty nice. I wonder how it would feel like through proper mains? Something like Geithain 901k or large PMC mains. I am wondering if the feel that people talk about isn't there because most monitors just can't match the large speakers and levels of actual amps.

An excellent review with a guitar player that can demo good clean sounds nicely as well as heavy metal. The Presets seem to be much better sounding than GR 5 from the get go, which makes it easier to find a good usable sound.
I'll most likely buy the upgrade, I'll get used to the different look.
And the guitar still shines through

Marcus is playing beyond his years. Lots of kids have put the practice in and are able to rip, but it's common for them to play mechanically. Marcus plays with great feel for any age. Very good player, very impressive. Guitar Rig sounds pretty good.
Maybe NI could include a player like this in the next update! Amazing!!!

Sadly NI didn't update their original amps, apart from fixing the tremolo on the AC Box. If you compare GR5 amps with GR6, with the same cabinets and all, they will sound exactly the same. However, you can enable oversampling with the HI button on GR5. For some reason, NI decided to remove that button and effectively force you to play at the native samplerate which made no sense to me as to why they'd do that. The New ICM amps though sound crazy realistic though. But that's the biggest problem with GR6, is that you have 2 ultra realistic new amps and then you got everything else which sounds very dated. I saw a video recently of someone comparing GR6 to GR1 and it's actually shocking and disappointing how similar the amp modeling is. I appreciate all the new effects, but NI, we deserve better than this!
@@rockapartie It's been two years since you made this post and not a single new update has come to GR6. Unfortunately I think GR6 will share the same fate as GR5 where it gets released, maybe has one update, and then gets forgotten for nearly an entire decade until a new version comes out.
Sounds fine on here but take a look at Trust pilot and see the reviews first.

FORM AN ANDERTONS BAND
For christ sake it's bloody obvious, people would love it and you can do it. You can incluede al the people from guitars, keys, drums etc, record together or seperatley. demo stcok if you want. but most importantly build the fandom. Awareness is king, I watch guitar and bass mostly, but when I wanted a piano I went to Anerdtons because I enjoy this RUclips channel.

Can you disable the cabs and just use an external IR loader instead? I can't go back to cabsim haha
Not sure I'd switch from using BIAS AMP/FX 2(especially FX 2), mind you, but I might have a play around and see if it's closer in reality than on video with RUclips compression
Yes you can, the pre amp section and cab section is separate. And you can turn them both on or off separately.

It still sounds like an amp sim plugin from years ago. There are so much better ones on the market.
Which would you reccomend?
@@MrTomparvin depends on what you want. I think that Amplitube has a great full speaker simulation. Overloud THU is also pretty good on the chain stage. Also Line6 has full implementation of HELIX on VST. There are a lot of good options out there. Even free VST goes far than Guitar Rig 6...
@@MrTomparvin In no particular order: Line6 Helix Native, NeuralDSP, Mercuriall, Scuffham S-Gear, ML Sound Labs. ML Sound Labs ML5 (Mesa Mark V) is my current favorite plugin, just excellent.

Will an apollo make guitar rig 6 sound better?
Lovely playing BTW - what a talent, but I'm gonna agree with others, this is how many years newer than GR5? And they've added 3 amps and kept the majority of the outdated crap within GR5 and just repackaged it in a shiny new GUI. Complete duck egg of a in personal opinion. Scuffam would run rings round this new version still.

why is the VCA compressor between the amp and the speaker? In a studio the miked amp would gon through te speaker.

I've been a fan of Marcus on Instagram for quite a while. He's an amazing player full stop, let alone amazing for his age. Pete steals his licks a fair bit so great to see him on the Andertons channel.

Hey im from Germany and i really want to try it out cause you save a Ton of Money.My only Question is what type of Speakers or Audio Output can i use that can Handle the Volume and everything.I hope you get an Idea of what im trying to ask.My Englisch is not the Best :)
FYI right on their site (as of today) it says the Demo version comes with all the presets. IT DOESN'T! You have to spend $199. I got someone on chat that said that's a mistake. Ugh.

They are years behind neural dsp, you might say what about all the effects neural doesnt come with, run the plini amp sim for example and a multi fx unit into the interface and youve got something 10x better then this. Take it or leave it lol
Or just run BIAS Pedal into the Plini amp sim...or just BIAS FX 2 (using the IR loader obviously, and some tasty tasty IRs of your choice)

Great review lads buuuuut 2 words, neural dsp 🤘🔥😎 to be honest I've played GR5 for ages and tbh there is not much of an upgrade from the 5 sounds wise.
I felt like most of the amp sims sounds a little darker compared to gr5

Pc software doesn't need to be overpriced to be amazing.
Upgrade should be $75 tops. Nearly a decade to release and there are still better amp sims on the market that sound more authentic. No thanks, I’ll stick with using GR5 for instrument effects and my HX Stomp for guitar effects and amps. Glad I bought the Stomp this quarantine.
Slightly better amp sims. It’s closer with version 6 now. But yes, for the time they took, it should be amazing. But many of the amps and effects are improved. It just depends what you like to use.
I spent a few hours with GR6, side by side with TH-U, Amplitube 4, and GR5. It's "OK" - it sounds better than GR5, but considering that they've had 9 years to come up with something new, and have been left behind by everyone else, it's an incredibly lazy "update".
This was an opportunity to destroy the competition, but they just couldn't be bothered.
That's the best word for it I think. Lazy.

Do yourselves a favour and go try the Neural DSP stuff instead of this, yes this has way more effects but you can't beat the amp models in Neural DSP

Hold up hold up hold up. You said artists like Bieber show up as having Guitar Rig? I'd like to beg to differ, I don't know much about that but I'd highly doubt that's the case. I've used GR 4/5 and now 6 and use it for some dirty tones.
Guitar rig features heavily on some charlie puth tunes. There are some behind the song videos here where he and his friend who produced the tune and played the guitar show it

im a little disappointed with this release. GR5 is my preferred sim for just jamming at home and was hoping 6 would have loads of more new stuff, but they only added two new amps? GR5 had like 4 variants of a Marshall and two Fenders, that's like half the amp selection there.
