- In this video I asked many college students basic questions to see how much general knowledge they knew. The students answers were quite comical so I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

When you ask about THE 7 wonders of the world ("8 wonders" being a joke, of course), a literate person should immediately think of the famous 7 wonders of classic antiquity, not some newer list(s). The only entry on the list that survives today: the pyramids of Giza. Others I can recall off the top of my head are the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Lighthouse at Alexandria and the Colossus of Rhodes.

Sir Joseph Wilson Swan FRS 31 October 1828 - 27 May 1914) was an English physicist, chemist, and inventor. He is known as an independent early developer of a successful incandescent light bulb, and is the person responsible for developing and supplying the first incandescent lights used to illuminate homes and public buildings, including the Savoy Theatre, London, in 1881.
Thomas Edison was not the only one who was involved in the invention of the lightbulb, in fact there are *5 inventors that came before him* also if anyone asks about Lewis Latimer, he made the filament that goes into the Edison patented iteration of the lightbulb.
Lewis Latimer didn't invent the filament, what he did do was developed a better, improved filament than the one Edison used and got a patten on it.
Fun fact. Edison didn't invent the lightbulb. He did however invent the filament lightbulb which aside from florescent is the most commonly used bulb we use today. Also when asked how he felt that it took over a hundred tries to create it it answered along the lines of "I didnt fail, I just found over a hundred way not to create a lightbulb".
Edison improved the lightbulb, with the help of a lot of other people.

Fun thing is, I'm African (Cameroonian) and except for the questions on sports/rugby (or American football is it?), I could literally answer ALL of these questions without batting my eyelashes for a sec. The 50 US states, much of American history (things like the Boston tea party and stuff like that), European towns and cities, together with the things they "discovered". We were taught about Neil Armstrong, European explorers (Vasco Da Gama, Ferdinand Magellan...) right from like 7 years of age...we were all vigorously taught these things back at school (primary school for crying out loud). Now here I am, faced with college students who still have doubts on whether or not Africa is a country...I'm forgetting the 50 US states asap.
I'm Rwandan, I could answer most of them, I didn't know the ones about the people on their cash...but I knew the rest
Can we just exchange you for one of these dumb dumbs?
But do you know all 2355 pronouns trans people have made up?
Americans know more about the Kardashians than they do about the world. To see people not understand Africa is a continent is just crazy.
some of these questions are pretty dumb, like who at a college is gonna know how many points a touchdown is worth?? that knowledge is entirely dependent on whether you watch football or not
I’m curious what would happen if you go to Massachusetts and ask these questions.
Heart breaking!!!
Actually the parallelogram question, the rhombus IS a parallelogram, because it also has both opposing sides parallel. The classic parallelogram shape you find on the internet is not the ONLY type. Just like a Square is also a parallagram

You guys should bring back the "for a dollar" series, one of the most entertaining ones you guys do imo
I know this is an older video but at 3:22 I believe that's a screen tablet that's used with an electric stylus pen for applications like Photoshop, Illustrator, 3D modeling, etc. Before those you would have tablets like Wacom Tablets that you hooked up but didn't have a screen. You would make the motions of drawing and you would have to rely on your hand-eye coordination to create what you wanted on the screen. Now you can get a screen that can interact with the pen/stylus itself but it's quite expensive.
Looks like it is Wacom Cintiq.
The questioner doesn't even understand the Wonders of the Word himself, because he said there were eight when there were only really seven. The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World were as follows:
- Great Pyramids of Giza
- Pharos Lighthouse of Alexandria
- Colossus of Rhodes
- Hanging Gardens of Babylon
- Mausoleum at Halicarnassus
- Temple to Artemis at Ephesus
- Statue of Zeus at Olympia

One of the questions was, "What date did the U.S. gain its independence?" The answer that was given as correct was July 4th, 1776 It would have been better if the question was, "When did the U.S. 'declare' its independence from Great Britain?" The U.S. officially declared independence on July 4th, 1776. But, it took seven years of fighting and negotiation for the U.S. to actually achieve independence, which was formally accomplished with the signing of the Treaty of Paris, on September 3rd, 1783.

What he meant was "The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World." "Who was Jackie Robinson?"
"He was a baseball player"
"Like what was he known for?"

When they go to college to get wasted, laid and boozed up.. I'm not surprised. As a non-US citizen, this display of brilliance is soo sooo comforting.
When thinking of student loan forgiveness, I would say that colleges and universities need to be way more selective in accepting college-ready students who are not college-ready if they want student loans for their schools. Some of these students just shouldn't even be there much less qualifying for student loans for higher education. How some ever make it out of high school with a diploma is a complete mystery.
Well, many people who graduate high school are functionally illiterate, so this isn’t too surprising.
Nobody fails anymore. The purpose of the education system is not to educate. It is to instill in you a sense of respect and submission to authority figures to create a more easily controlled population of ignorant, willing servants.
Absolutely Virginia! College education has been dummied down and become an entitlement for many. I venture to say many who lived a half century ago were far "better educated" than these so called students.
Like virtually everything else in America, universities and student loan companies are for profit businesses. The only thing they really care about is profit. The more money they can manage to suck out of people, the better.
perhaps its the educational system itself?
Bro these videos are so great especially the ending man. Love the editing and everything y’all do to put smiles on peoples faces with these videos! Keep it up 💯
2:20 i'm glad i'm not asked this, because like i know the answer but my mind is instantly always like "LANCE ARMSTRONG" and then about 5 seconds after i'm like "oh that's the bike guy"
I have a simple question: How in the world did these young people (with an American accent) manage to graduate from High School, let alone get accepted into University? It boggles the mind to imagine what their parents after watching this, must be thinking. I know, that if most of them were mine, I would feel deeply ashamed while wondering where it all went wrong. But that's just me 🤷♀
Personally, I didn't know who was on the US Banknotes, nor on the coin, everything else though was straight forward and easy.
Greetings from Down Under.
Would their parents know any better?
Well, for the question that asked if the earth revolves around the sun. Both answers are wrong. The earth does not “revolve” because “to revolve” means to have a circular orbit but Keplers laws show that the orbits are elliptical. In addition, the earth does not orbit around the sun, it orbits around the center of mass of the solar system which happens to be near the Sun typically. This is because all objects in the solar system can exert gravitation forces in each other.
These days, kids are just given passing grades to keep them from coming back. A high school diploma means very little anyway. Universities only care about getting your money, they could care less about you actually leaning anything.

6:20 - get your facts right! There were plenty of parts of the underground railroad that were, in fact "underground", and we have the tunnels going through St. Louis to prove it.
Fun fact: electric light bulb was actually invented by Russian scientist Lodygin in 1871 and patented in 1874. Then also Russian engineer Yablochkov made an improved one in 1876. Then these bulbs got into Edison's hands, he improved them and patented his bulb only in 1879.
