    Full marks to Redshift.

Quality bit of kit. Very impressed with the night time effect, but I’m sure they would be just as good during the day.

Yes, they are good in the day. Wendy is using the City flat version and it’s noticeable that drivers do seem to give her more space.

I ride a Class 3 e-bike in an Urban Jungle. It's dangerous. That's why I'm always on the search to enhance my safety. These pedals can be a real deal solution to make it easier for cars to notice a night time cyclist.
My reaction to the first edition pedals was that better traction was needed to help me keep my feet on the pedals, when coming across a big bump or pothole at high speeds. This 2.0 version has addressed that issue with the metal pins. To my knowledge, there is nothing else on the market like these pedals. They're very well engineered with a lot practical features.
Besides my quality and powerful aftermarket head and taillights on my bike, I have an impressive taillight built into my helmet. I'm all ready well seen at night. I know that I sound a bit wishy-washy, do I don't need more lights? These pedals are a bit on the pricey side, on the other hand can one put a price on personal safety?

For me, the movement of the lights makes all the difference. I’ve been hit at night with lots of lights. Would these have helped, probably not as the driver was doing something other than looking at the road. What we really need is an invention that cures stupid.

@@RideWithRoyI think that this may be worth mentioning. My light system focuses most of the light forward and back. The Arclight does both and a great deal towards the sides.

And on to the road, which reflects off wet roads, adding to rider visibility 👍

    I'm not a night rider but I use flashing lights all the day long .Never enough to be seen . Very good idea these pedals ;

I’m like you, lights all day long. Wendy only rides in daylight and has been riding with the City flat version of the Arclights for months. We can both report that drivers do give much more space when using these.

I told a cycling club I ride with about those pedals, one person said about the price being too expensive , but I told them if they make you more visible at night they are well worth it. I shall share your video to them

It’s a bit like high end bike locks, Michael. We spend a small fortune on a bike but are not happy to spend a fraction on safety.

@Ride With Roy yes I see bikes with cheap locks, even on fairly expensive bikes, in Peterborough City centre that's asking for trouble. I never go anywhere without a kryptonite lock. Used them since 1980s.

Some branded pedals like shimano ,crankbrothers or look are much more expensive without any safety device .

you put a lot of work into this Roy! very nicely put together. Redshift, and night riders, should be well pleased. I don't ride in the dark, and I'm old-school (or is it old-fashioned?).... toeclips and straps.

Good to see that Redshift have been listening to their users and taking on board their input. Still no version for folding pedals yet though?
Might also be an idea to make a light unit and mounting plate that could be fitted to existing commuter style pedals to fit like pedal reflectors do?

I thought about these, … I know I’m going to forget to take these off ..they’d be nicked in seconds
Love redshift stuff, they are innovative

Whilst these are clever, they are stupidly expensive. I use PEDL LED lights looped around the pedal spindles. And on the forks, and stays giving 90° side lighting. Each to their own.
