Well done 👏🏼 I appreciate how thorough you were! It’s interesting how quickly Demna is lumped into “irony” “satire” etc when I sense a lot more emotion and storytelling than meets the eye when I see Balenci’s runways. Also what’s your necklace?
Yes totally, I used to see him the same way but I knew there had to be more, and I was pleased that there really was a lot more depth within his work. The necklace is from Diesel!
One of the images that always stuck with me was the wide shot of the audience safe from the elements watching/recording the model in the long blue dress struggling to walk in the snow and wind environment. Based on the angle the camera was shot at It felt like a commentary on the delusions of the fashion industry.
Dude, you really put your heart into this. Thanks for that because I know it takes time, energy and patience to make a video like this. Keep up the content 🖤
I believe the campaign featuring the children and the punk bondage teddy bears been inspired by Demna’s experience of war and being a child in war. That’s one part of the whole thing that a lot of people overlooked and how innocence can be easily corrupted through the viciousness of war.
it is indeed possible, his way of expression could be different and his view of the toys rather than how the first world would view it cause thats what they haven’t been around to experience n being able to see that perspective
demna's work is incredibly sincere and he has said so on multiple occasions. he simply holds up a mirror to society, fashion and fashion consumers and most people can't handle it.
Sadly if one has ever worn anything from his recent collections, it’s hard to wear and proportionally the fit is horrible. In concept it may be provocative but practicality it’s a no.
As an Eastern European refugee, I want to clarify the situation regarding the 2008 war in Georgia. This conflict was initiated by Russia’s invasion, despite their claims that it was caused by internal issues within Georgia. This is similar to how Russia justified the 2014 annexation of Crimea, blaming internal conflict while orchestrating the aggression themselves. Great video overall 🫂
Thanks for the input! Demna was a refugee from the 1992 war. I tried my best to accurately speak on that but do you have any knowledge on the 1992 conflict in Georgia?
@@jansengarside The events of 1992 and then 1998 were the first example and, arguably, the template for hybrid warfare. Balenciaga’s designs aren’t “deep”. They produce crappy, ridiculous designs to troll label-conscious dumb consumers….. There’s nothing artistic, avant garde, ironic, or creative about these designs. Cristobal is turning over in his grave.
This terrible designer is disgracing the history of the brand. If you want to acknowledge a designer who is respecting AND enhancing a historic brand, recognize what Olivier is doing for Balmain, or what the most current designer is doing for Elsa Schapiarelli. But this crap? No way!!!
Feel free to check out my video on Daniel Roseberry at Schiaparelli! What he is doing at Schiaparelli is truly amazing. Demna is certainly divisive. Thanks for the input

Dear Jansen, thank you for your work. Because of you I realize what is really going on behind the „scene“.
Thank you for watching, glad you learned something!

Yeah but the because balenciaga went viral with every provocative show he went a bit to far and i get it…people make mistakes.
They put real literal children in a compromised positions you do not do that
Predo lovers.
wow finally someone gave demna his flowers
A very well-made video and you're smart, which is not frequent. Thanks for appreciating Demna from Georgia.

The Balenciaga Universe
Yet another very well made and beautifully presented video !! bravo jansen
Thank you! And good suggestion!
The Balenciaga Shoes are a Marketing disaster . They are really terrible
The only collection I really liked is “Clones”
That was deep, design inspired into his reality
So- very much like how Alexander McQueen was? ✨😯✨👏🏻👏🏻- turning childhood trauma, curiosities, emotions….- into wearable art.
The joke will always be on the trendy.
liked it very much..! congrats for the video
If the clothing and footwear was nicely priced , nobody would care.....Trust
Best modern day Designer
The epitome of his artistry for me was when he sent Nicole Kidman in haute couture cheap lame looking baked potato😂
yes indeed, he built his own anti fashion culture on trauma, not values
good vid !!
Thank you!
Please can I ask who made The Swan background music?😭
What time was it at? I can find it easier that way
@@jansengarside01:35 Thank you!
It’s by Alon Peretz :)
i think the focal point is about making fun of commercialism

Stop d-riding it's not that deep. its absurdism to generate leads. They make money with 4 shoes. Triple S. Runner. Speed and Track.
bro if ur broke just say that🤣😭😭
This mf is really hurt and projecting rn
Great sneakers you described. Besides Rick Owens, name other luxury fashion house that designed iconic footwear by one designer
@@VuNguyen-fv5jlferragamo? Saint Laurent? Gucci?
Noone would buy them without the insane marketing
It is sad that, as you say : this is made for people who can afford ..... You forgot For people with a lot of money and no taste
