Great photography. You missed the most impressive aspect of the movement - this is a true GMT movement with jumping hour hand, produced by ETA exclusively for Longines. I am seriously considering this over a Black Bay GMT. It has essentially the same specs, it's 1 mm thinner, and it's $1000 less expensive. Curious which one you prefer!

Disregarding the aesthetics consideration which is dependent on individual taste, the Longines bezel is ceramic whereas Tudor is aluminium. Tudor is 200m whereas Longines is 100m water resistant. Also Longines lugs are a bit longer than Tudor so do try them before making your decision. For me, I will pick the Longines.

The movement is not truly exclusive to Longines. It’s a modified 2893-2 to swap a travelers GMT function for the caller GMT function traditionally found on the 2893-2 and with an extended power reserve which is obtained by reducing the beat frequency from 28800 to 25200. Mido has the Oceanstar GMT with similar modifications to an ETA movement. Contrast that to Tudor where the GMT movement was purpose built from the ground up. I’m curious to get one of these in hand and see if the gearing for the jump hours has any play to it. My ETA GMTs do. My Tudor doesn’t. What Longines has been very quiet about is whether this movement is like the Powermatic, which are laser adjusted at the factory and have no regulator for watchmaker adjustments for timing or whether a watchmaker can make adjustments as needed down the line as things get out of whack.

Longines is slowly making his comeback with these models. With a glorious heritage like theirs, there’s really so much material for them to use. That’s really a glorious GMT!

My first luxury watch was this GMT Zulu Time! Was debating between this or the Tudor but the history and the brand value over all just made sense to go with something as historic and classy like Longines. Got the green dial with the leather strap and that quick adjust strap is a game changer! I'm so damn happy with it and I just think it's the best luxury GMT watch for the money, excellent making, spirit history and the name itself is worth the 3k!

5:00 a large crown is a feature of aviation watches because pilots used to wear gloves so I like what they did with the crown, it's not uselessly big like IWC's but just enough of a nod to the past. Plus they made it into an hour glass which is a good signature to the design.

Beautifully balanced dial design, applied arabics, ceramic bezel, great lume, choice of colourway, proper Gmt function , cosc certified and all that for 2.5k. It's a steal! Honestly, Longines makes good watch design but what I hate is their affinity with Arabic Numerals. Why can't they for once make such nice looking watches/even diver watches with baton indices or even plain round indices. Numerals just look like an insult as if we can't tell time almost, akin to a Mickey Mouse watch with huge numerals on some models. It looks good on the bezel then you go one step further to put it on the dial too, then that just looks too amateurish. Hope Longines designers are reading this.
