That was a surprisingly good track - not sure what I was expecting (I think I was expecting something a lot more hard-core metal, which it DID have elements of) but I enjoyed it. The thing that struck me most was the back bone of it - the drums which were quite superb! The feeling I got from it was pretty much what you two girls picked out, a struggle to go on, but you continue because of that is who you are.

Lyrically very powerful as well. Especially for older generations of Tool fans who may be feeling the sting of time.
The solo in the middle as well as the 'peculiar' sound that you didn't even think possible (I'm paraphrasing) are both actually the bass guitar, played by Justin Chancellor, with the guitarist holding down the 'chuggada chug chug chuggada chug chug chug' part!
One of the things I love about Tool is how the instruments (drums included) often break the conventions of normality.

You now that the title Lateralus based on Fibonacci sequence. The chorus notes goes from 9/8 to 8/8 to 7/8. You have the number 987. That's the 16th number of Fibonacci sequence.
There are several more on this album that I would love to hear you guys react to. Descending is one you need to do. You guys do great job and it’s so awesome to see girls your age getting into this type of music. Gives me faith in the youth 😁

I just found you ladies here and recently subscribed. I love that you are listening to many classic rock songs that I listened to growing up. I've been watching all your older reaction videos and it's great watching both of YOU growing up as well! They simply don't make music like that anymore. I really am not a fan of today's music. However, I must admit, during the pandemic, I discovered BabyMetal and BlackPink and I'm loving their music. Trying to be open-minded, but most of today's music is just terrible. Great reaction. Drums are difficult to follow due to the use of poly rhythms and time signature changes. How many 12+ minutes songs can keep you interested like this? Tool fans waited 13 years for this release. It is worth the wait.

I've just stumbled on the channel. Great stuff ladies. We watched your Rooster reaction, and now this one. I love how Mia tries to find the rhythm. With this band you are dealing with two things. Complex time signatures (7,9,13,21 beats per measure) and Polyrhythm. Where multiple times are superimposed on one another. There are multiple clocks happening. Hence the odd feel. Also, that later guitar solo is a guitar synth. It triggers synthesiser sounds with a special pick up. Adam Jones wrote a new book with it on this album. Hands down my favourite vocal performance form Maynard ever. I've been a fan since the first EP. Subscribed!

You may want to check out another band called Puscifer. It is led by Maynard James Keenan of Tool. Puscifer is quite different from Tool but in a good way.

In my rock and roll dreams, that is one of the best songs I have ever heard.
That moment when they kick it into high gear is such a payoff after eleven minutes of tension that's been held back by the slow beat. You can feel it coming, but you can't trust yourself after that long, but it finally lets you break free.
Masterful display of musicianship, how they evoke certain emotions that are congruent with the lyrics.
Maynard understands music very well and knows how to custom tailor his voice, just amazing!
The chemistry that Danny, Justin and Adam have, in order to compose such masterpieces, is such a gift to the world 👌🏿🤙🏿🤟🏿

I love Tool but starting with anything off of Fear Inocculum is like skipping basic math and going right to String Theory. Get into some of their older stuff first and watch the progression of their sound. It’ll blow your mind.

On point. Dad is a lucky father to have daughters with such great taste in music and insightful enough to make such a discovery. This album in my opinion is the easiest to listen to as far as the message and lirycs go even the music itself seems very melodious. Tip, don't forget to revisit Tool 10, 20, 30 years from now as you journey around the sun. You will be glad you did.

Hello girls, it's been a while since I've got the chance to check your latest reactions and was very happy to come across this one!
Both of you are very insightful and we're spot on describing the feelings that this song evokes.
Tool has been around for decades and they have become masters in sharing their experience and emotions as human beings with us, the public.
You quite could say you get to know them as people through their albums, each one tells us pieces of their life story.
Fear Inoculum is full of very mature messages, loaded with emotions that we can all identify with as human beings 😊.

Every member of Tool is so talented. I find its a lot to take in with one listen. Descending for example really grew on me after listening to it a few times. Carry's polyrhythms are hard to head bang to lol.
Bold and proud. Youll understand later in life. Tool touches my spirt in son many ways. Keeps me from ending my time in this space.
The othe space i can be with my estranged wife and dead dog. Tool has kept me here. Remember how beautiful Tool can be.

I really enjoy your reactions and have been watching you for a long time, almost from the beginning. I just had to come in here to request and/or suggest some videos for you to react to. I would really like to see you react to Nemophila "Revive" . They are an all girl metal band from Japan. They are incredible, honestly on equal quality with BabyMetal and Band Maid. You will be blown away! After "Revive" which is their new release I recommend "Dissension". These two songs are a perfect start for getting to know this band. After that you can pretty much pick anything and everything, they honestly don't have a bad song. They are new (formed in 2019) so they have a bunch of covers on their channel, which is alright, but I really prefer their own songs over the covers by far. I honestly believe you are going to love Nemophila! Thank you and keep up the good work ladies, I appreciate you. :)

Best band T shirt ever Juliet...it's a classic, and Lemmy is God. ;) Another great reaction girls, the lyrics massively speak to the male psyche and our role as a provider/protector, definitely hits home. Oh and Mia, especially with TOOL it's sometimes easier to follow the guitar beat to determine the songs rhythm...and that section you couldn't follow is 3 then 4 repeated (3 beats then 4 beats then 3 beats then 4 beats etc.) Loving the content ladies, thanks as always! :)

Just my opinion of course...It looks like the first thing you listened to of Tool was Pneuma and Danny's drum video, along with Sober shortly after. Both of those were a year ago. A year passes and you next Invincible. My opinion, for a band like Tool, listening to older stuff first before listening to the newest album might be a better way to descend down the rabbit hole. Consider taking opinions or polls from your subscribers and get some good background of the band by listening to those older songs like Sober. Curious to know if you actually listened to any Tool over the past year you didn't a reaction to?
