Just bought a Mk2 100 Combo. Had *NO* idea about all these features. Thank you for the amazing amount of work you put into this. 👏 Agree, Boss should be paying you for this. Rock on, bro.
Once I got to the part in the video where you go over importing patches I was blown away. Technology has gone a long way and I'm glad I went with the Katana. Thanks for all the work you put into making this video!
Great video. As a new Katana Artist MKII Head owner this demo/tutorial is beyond helpful... especially with the Tone Studio stuff. Thanks for your time and effort!! 👍
By far best tutorial I’ve ever seen. This is based on many of my life hobby’s I’ve gone through. From rc cars to 3d printing to dirt bikes. Aside from how to use this amp I learned what things mean/point.. I’m unplugged acoustic on couch type. Literally first amp I’ve owned along with electric guitar. Bought MK2 100 Head. Using internal speaker for night practice. One day may add small cab for bigger sound. Right now with kids in bed and wife asleep. Time starts around 11pm or so. It’s cheaper than katana air and fully functional... Thank you again
Thank you so much, Mike! It's very appreciated. All you might really need is a single 12" 8 ohm 100 speaker and simple cab and it'll sound fantastic! Even though a decent set of headphones it sounds great.🤘
For sure man. I tired out fenders mustang headphone amp. Cool as it was with headphones just couldn’t stand it. Used 2-3 times for 2 weeks I had it. Acoustic is grab and go with no strings attached. So I would grab that instead. Tried out Katana Air utilizes auto on feature. Gave me grab and feel most part… as for sound eh. Discovered yesterday mk2 head has that 5” internal. Swapped them out today while saving money on amp… Until I buy WL-50 in future. For now it’ll stay connected or leave cord connected to amp. Grab and connect them flip amp on. Still works for vs cheap ear buds. Head is way over kill for a small practice amp.. But it’s only temporary way and it’s not hard to find used MK2 50 watt used around 150-180 range on marketplace or used cab when ready. Practice amp on steroids today and used as design later… or dead by wife!
Thanks for making this video! It's inspired me to dig deeper into my 100W Mk.II. I bought it a little while ago, but I've been using a different amp that's already available where I'm reheasing, so I've never got to grips with the Katana. Now with the threat of playing some gigs looming, I reckon it's high time to dust it off again. Your detailed explanation is a real eye-opener as to just how much it's capable of!
Keep digging and check out some of my tone tutorials. Those might help you with working with individual effects and controls. Work with the Parametric EQ to really dial in a wake it up. It's a lot to take in and quite honestly, I didn't really start deep diving into it until I owned it for a couple years either. I would just load tones and make a few changes. Thanks for watching and I'm glad it helps.
@@Guitarnivore Cheers - I will do. I've been working with a UAV Dream '65 or Neunaber Neuron and a mix of pedals and plug-ins for recording, but it makes huge sense to get the Katana ready with some settings I'm happy with so that it's good to go whenever I grab a guitar.
Dude. You're a freaking hero. I've just bought a MK-II and was wondering where to start from after turning it on and plugging the guitar. You gave the full answer and more. Deep gratitude to you 🙏
Glad it helped. I know it's a lot to take in. I have additional videos that may help that aren't a part of this one or are updated. Thanks for watching!
I just heard of this amp series and I have to admit that once I listened to the reviews I was blown away on how good it sounded! I am picky when it comes to digital amps because there are moments where I just think it doesn’t sound organic and more digital. I loved almost every single video I watched, that amp sounds pretty good and it’s at such a reasonable price. Great job on posting this video, it will come in handy when I actually purchase the amp.
Wow. That was a lot of info. It took me a while but I watched the whole thing - thank you for putting this together. This amp is incredible but there are *so many* features that it's just a little overwhelming, so this is a great tutorial that every Katana MkII owner needs to see!
I've just finished watching the first section of this video and I'm very impressed with the tutorial. The Artist offers so much, but it takes time to learn and experiment with different tones and settings. I have an Orange 100 watt Super Crush head and 2x12 cabinet as my primary rig, but I wanted to get another amp with built effects and foot switch to make it easier to load in and out. I chose the Katana MK II Artist, but it's taken a good deal of time to find out all this amp has to offer. Scott, I really appreciate that you made this video. You've saved me a great deal of time. Thank you.
Man, thank you so much for this video! I just got a Boss Katana MK2 50 for my first electric and I had no clue it could do all of this before watching this video. My first guitar was a squier bullet around 17 years ago, but I switch to acoustic after my 2nd year playing and I haven't had an electric again until now. Man, amps have changed so much since back then
Hey Scott, the reason the panel button was doing that fast flash, was not because it was in panel mode, it was because you had the amp on standby mode. Check it out, and keep up the great work man, you have taught a lot of people great stuff about these awesome amps 👍
Amazing good indepth video about this amp. I have a MKII Artist. The ability of this amp to mimic about any amp and sound is real. When you consider this with the Boss pedals it offers makes this a bargain not just for new players, but any player. By the way, you can also connect it to any other amp in stereo, you don't need another Katana. I probably would have been happy with the 50w, but based on me loving combos with knobs on the front I went full in. No regrets. This amp also takes any pedal very well. I'm waiting for the next generation of it and well purchase it immediately. Thanks for letting everyone know how addaptive this amp is. =)
Hey there, I have a Mkii Artist as well. How did you connect to another brand amp to get a true stereo effects ? What is the process involved ?. Am very keen to have a stereo rig.
Best most informative video I’ve come across in regards to the katana . Literally taught me so much within the first 30 mins let alone the rest! Thankyou for taking the time to make this ☺️
Many thanks. I've a waza air, which of course has to be used with tone studio. You're presentation and explanations of tone studio were by far the best I found. I now know enough to to be able to mess about with confidence. Cheers
Thank You So Much for your tutorial on updating the amp and connecting to Tone Studio! After banging my head against the wall for an hour trying update drivers and software and getting nowhere, your instructions worked perfect!
Thank you so much!! I was putting off downloading and updating the studio because it seemed sooo complicated but with your video I got it done in 10 minutes. Glad I did too because the noise suppressor is great.
I just bought this amp because guy at local store said it was highly recommended. I played through it and it sounded great. He never mentioned all of this extra stuff. Looks like I have some experimenting to do. If I hadn’t just RUclipsd the amp after purchasing I would’ve never known lol. Awesome video.
Grabbing myself one of these for Christmas. Super excited that I can open it up and be an expert. lol. Thank you for the guide, I'm sure this was a lot of work to put together.
Absolutely amazing! Anyone who watches this video should have no issue at all working through and understanding the Boss Katana MK-II. Your dedication to putting out such a comprehensive video speaks volumes as to your knowledge and passion about this amp and the tone studio! You truly should be compensated by Bossglobalinfo for your efforts and in turn they should use your video(s) as their go-to instructional vids on their website! Thanks for all your work in creating such a phenomenal video! 🎸 #BossKatanaMKII #bossglobalinfo
Thank you very much for such very comprehensive review of this amp. Initially I thought it was too long, but as soon as I follow it up, yes, it is very good. One thing that I had problem with this Boss-MKII Artist is when using the looper pedal, we must ensure that there is one button that must be switched on, otherwise the looper pedal is useless. In fact, once I was thinking to by a simpler amp such as Fender Champion 40. Thank you very much for such comprehensive work and cheers from Indonesia.
I've noticed this with my Boss RC-5 looper pedal when I use it with my xsonic airstep kat... I get no sound on the app and have to unplug the looper and turn it on and off then the amp works again... any idea what's going on? I have my Send/Return set ON and in series Edit: Ok so I've only been playing for like 7/months... most of those on a practice kit amp and a few months on a THR10II. Anyway, I just realized I had the SEND/RETRUN on my Boss RC-5 looper pedal hooked up backwards? Whoops, I can only imagine that was the problem. I had it working with just the amp and looper, but I just got my airstep Kat switch (also the GAFC-EX switch) so hopefully they can all work together. I don't know if I wasted money on the GAFC-EX or there's a way to utilize it with the KAT and my Looper pedal somehow. To think I almost got the Boss RC-600... glad I realized I didn't know what I was doing and went simpler Lol
Your also not wrong about only getting @5 percent out of the amp without the tone studio. Its crazy how much sound combinations it opens up. Its a very cool concept.
Thanks for taking the time to go into so much detail about the Katana Mk II Bro, I just picked up mine second hand a couple of weeks ago and I couldn't have come upon your video at a better time. ✌️😜👍
Awesome. Always glad to hear someone getting a Katana and learning from this video. Stick around, I post about once a week with a new tone or tutorial.
Impressive I knew it was go but I’m a 5-10% you have given me weeks of homework. I have never hooked it to tone studio, I think I was/am afraid I will screw-in up. When my wife isn’t sick and gone to bed early. But tomorrow I wii bee experimenting. Thanks I will be back a lot.
This is waaaay better than Boss's Manual! Thank you, your incredible hard work inspires me to look the right way to enjoy my amp, instead of fearing it! Would love to buy you a beer, Do you have any way to chip in? I mean it.
Good work Fella this is as comprehensive a guide as anyone could need! Thanks for your trouble. Had a mk1 100 , updated to 100 mk2 and love it. Best bang for buck I have had. Care has to be taken with levels on presets, which comes in comments often. Play loud on a raised stand or platform to get ear tone right.
That's one thing I hate. I just wish the effects had the same exact controls as the actual pedals. With the boosts, play with the "Mix" a bit. Sometimes it vastly improves the tone.
Incredible !!! Thanks for doing all that work !!! I've been running my pedal board into the clean channel on my Katana 50 MkII for my "wet" signal. My "dry" signal, and looper, go to my Blackstar HT5R. So there's another way to do it.
Flanger with the long A and hard G got me 😆Loving this video and your channel. Just got my first Katana, the 50 mk2 this past weekend and just soaking it all up.
This video is excellent. Thank you very much for it (I've seen it multiple times) Two things that would be so great, if you can cover on new videos: 1 - Cuvave chocolate bar with a Katana. It has the amazing capability of not only replacing the GA-FC footswitch but also enabling it for the Katana 50 Mk II (for under 30 bucks) 2 - Tweaking this amp for acoustic guitar, especially piezo sound (horrible) Thanks man!
I've had one of those Mvave Chocolates in my Amazon cart for a long time. I need to just buy it and play. I've made some acoustic tones. I think the key is the acoustic processor.
The cuvave is an insane tool. It isn't only midi, it also sends keyboard keys to a computer (you can pause, go back 10 secs, forward 10 secs) on a video. It can send (I've never tried this one) swipe signals to tablets or cell phones, for the same purpose (video control, flipping music score). Well built, wire and wireless, I do recommend
Awesome tutorial, thanks Scott, I'm so glad you convinced me to buy this thing, I can't wait to hook up to tone studio. If this is a limited version without Studio, I'm anxious to experience it's full potential!
Thanks so much for your tutorial. After watching, I realize that I was using less than 10% of the katana's potential. Like was said, Boss should give you some money$$ for such a good job!
Great video and thank you very much for it !!! I/we could really use a *"step by step hook up"* process for the 100w 2x12 Mk.ll amp. How to cable, the order of the stomp boxes, and where and how to plug them in properly. Basically start with just the amp, and hook up the GF-AC foot switch , various stomp boxes(drive, distortion, compressor, etc.) looper. Maybe with and without an expression pedal if it changes the hook-up order. Anyway, there's all kinds of videos that kind of go over it. But nothing that is precise and specific. No problem with the GF-AC hook-up, but adding everything else isn't working properly ??? Lap top took a dump, no access to the tone library etc. It's gonna be a while for a new computer. Frustrated !!!! 🤦 Thanks again for all of your time and effort with this video !!! 👍🏼
@@longshankdrills8799 I've got the following video that explains the FX loop pretty well. As far as the expression pedal plugged into the GA=-FC, it should be plug and play. What kind of cable are you using between the GA-FC and the expression pedal? It needs to be a TRS cable (stereo) and not your regular mono instrument cable. ruclips.net/video/xP-7k-ZEPwY/видео.html
@@Guitarnivore Hey, thanks a lot for taking the time, I'll check it out. That cord you're referring to is the one with 2 lines on it, not the standard 1 line on it, correct ? That's what I have from amp to foot switch. Really appreciate it bro, have a great day. 👍🏼👊🏼
@@longshankdrills8799 that's the one. If your plugging in an expression pedal into the foot switch you need the same kind. I have another video on expression pedal assigning in tone studio.
I bought this amp and tried the tone studio with the eq even had a physical eq in my fx loop. The patches i got honestly didnt sound that good. If you select an overdrive pedal in the amp and have the same pedal physically and hook it up for instance like a blues driver, the amp will always sound better than your pedal. I feel like this is done on purpose to make you use the tone studio. Needless to say I spent more time doing exactly what your doing in this video than actually playing my guitar. I was able to set it up to sounds good but still very digital sounding! I returned it and bought the Orange Super Crush 100 for $130 dollars more and holy cow for a non tube amp it rips and dont regret it for a second!
Once you learn how to dial things in, you spend a lot less time doing it. With that said, Orange amps are friggin awesome and I can't blame you!!! Enjoy!
@@Guitarnivore Of course, Had the chance to play one of these at a GC and was super impressed for the price. Didn't know you could do Presets and stuff on the computer with it
I've seen a video where a guy uses his GAFC-EX, Airstep Kat and a boss (RC-5 I think) looper pedal and he rigged it so the stop start was somehow mapped to the footswitch buttons. I'll have to play with it and try and figure that out because it's so much easier than double tapping the RC-5. I just started playing recently so this is all new to me, but I got all of those for my katana MKII 100 but just figuring out how to update the amp and install tone studio on my MacBook Air m2 (which I got for the katana and recording with my band) took me more time than I thought. It wasn't hard, it's just figuring out MacOS along with the katana. It's a lot to take in all at once. This video is clutch, I watched the whole thing and have a feeling I might reference this again in the near future. Boss should hire this guy to write their instruction manual!
He confusion around the issue of blinking lights and BankA / BankB selection is based around the fact that you are using the line out to get your sound for you and the video and the amp is switched to ‘ Standby’ all the way through . Any of the selected CH1 to CH4 plus the panel button itself will blink at the rapid rate because the amp is in standby mode. Normally , when selected , the CH1-4 are steady lights , and the panel light is steady for ‘ panel’ , off for bank A , and slow blink for bank B . Great video though , thanks for the effort.
Thank you so much for the description of how to use the Assign menu. Clearly not something Boss/Roland felt like describing... especially since they clearly fired the dev working on it. Why would they show all the functions for all things you don't have the expression pedal assigned to?! "I want to use it to control the FX depth on my flanger." Boss: Great, here's all the options for the booster and the mods, first! Every last one of them, discreetly! Feels like playing one of the original D&D Commodore64 games, in terms of archaic user interfaces. Cheers!
@@Guitarnivore have YOU figured out the difference between "Volume" and "Foot Volume" in the menus? I'm *assuming* its the difference between controlling the volume in the effects loop (or where ever they deem the foot GS-FX to be), and the Master volume... I found your video trying to answer that question. I honestly can't tell the difference between the two options, so maybe it doesn't even matter?! Thanks!
@@DustinKreidler That's a good question. I haven't messed with that enough to find the difference. Perhaps I'll play around with it this weekend and try to get back to you.
@@DustinKreidler So playing with it this morning, I only find a slight difference. In Foot Volume, at the lowest, it starts to fade in perfectly, where as Volume, there is a point where it just comes on. Like it act more as a volume knob, and the foot volume acts more like a swell, if you know what I mean.
@@Guitarnivore Forgot I wanted to both say thanks for looking into that, and also that I answered my own ignorant question about why the Assign screen would show every possible effect: So you can set all of them ahead of time, so that no matter what preset you load, your expression pedals will react the way you expect. In my head, it would only show the active effects for whatever preset you were currently on, which would obviously make it REALLY difficult to plan ahead for different effects/settings... I could ask for a cleaner interface (and instructions!) but in hindsight, being able to set every possible effect/expression interaction ahead of time is definitely the way to go! Cheers!
Thank You So Much for Doing This!!! I've been muking around useing a old Windows 7. I just got a killer new Bitecool w/Windows 11 and I'm going over your vid. to start all over with everything and it's great!!! Needless to say I saved it so I can go over it again if needed. Again I just wanted to thank you for the effort. Great Job!!!
Actually, let me correct that, because I learned something since making this video. Solid means you're on the panel, Slow blink means you're on B and no light is A. Fast blink on any of the buttons just means the amp is in standby and in that channel.
I am not into reading manuals and this video helped me a lot to understand all the (hidden) features of my Artist MKII... Kudos @guitarnivore... Appreciate the time making this tutorial...
thanks for making this video. i just got the 100w 1x12 version 2 days ago and i honestly didnt have a clue what i was doing before watching this vid. the only amp ive owned previously was a fender frontman 15g with an empress heavy distortion pedal. i dont really play music where having good tone is a big deal (black metal isnt known for good sounding guitars), but its really cool to know more about the amp im using. you explained stuff very clearly and i just wanted to express some gratitude for that. i would give a donation with this comment, but i just spent all my money on the new amp lol. cheers
I have learned a lot from watching this. Bought the head as a back up to my 5153 stealth. One note, flanger I have always pronounced Flan-Jer. Still a great video!
Great tutorial. Thanks. During Tone Studio setup, like a bonehead, I installed Mk1 software by mistake. Couldn't figure out why the amp wasn't connecting to the PC. Needed the MkII version. Duh! Should have watched your video. One of the first things you mentioned!
Thank you so much for makingvthis amazing video, i just bought my usb cable and about to delve into upgrading the firmware 😁 and have a look at the tone studio for 1st time, i will keep your video to help me and subsribe to you thanks again my freind 🙂🙂
In case you are interested: Flange Flanger The ‘ang’ is pronounced like Angela ang in English he’s actually rather strange and has a number of different possible pronunciations with the long and short, a sound and hard and soft G sound Of course there’s anger stranger. Language, Orange to name a few, but as the root of this word is flange, it is known as a flange-er . I don’t care though. You can call it Flanger as much as you want but this video was helpful for me in navigating the interface so I figured I’d offer some instruction in return
I'm so glad you talked me into getting one of these. That rotary effect is very cool, I can do Gregg Allman's Hammond B3 parts on guitar, Ha! I wish, you get what i mean though. So many things to do but don't seem overwhelming because it's layed out so well.
One thing I would like to point out, if nobody has yet. When you’re talking about the presets sounding very thin, one of the things you have to keep in mind is you did scoop out the majority of the meds. Guitars are a mid range driven instrument so scooping that much of the mid range out definitely thins out the tone. Totally understand if that’s the sound that you’re going for, like that 80s hair metal sound, dime bag, Darrell sound. That works perfectly for that, but the flipside is that it makes your tone sound thin.certainly not criticizing. Just wanted to point that out. The more you will make the tone sound fuller.
Outstanding stuff... One thing I haven't found, wish it was there, being able to write directly from the editor to the librarian, as opposed to writing it to one of the panel slots, and then copying to the library. Maybe I missed it? Great how to video, many thanks.
No, you aren't missing anything. I wish it was like that too. I hate having to edit something and then save it to the panel and then move it into the library. The Katana Librarian mobile app is just the opposite. You have to save it to the library and then write it to the panel, even if you already have it in the panel.
@@LloydWrangler1 Export them to file in tone studio. Then you can either save them to the cloud like dropbox or the Boss TOne Exchange and then download them from your phone and import them into Librarian. Or you can transfer them from your PC to your phone via file transfer over a usb cable.
Hey man, awesome video! Really helpful! Aside from that, I just updated my tone studio yesterday and now I have even more options to assign stuff. I got a whole new extra tab that says "expanded GA-FC/GA-FC EX" making it possible to change what happens when you put a GF-FC in your EX (I guess, I haven't played with it yet). Also because of the update, I did get the option to assign the 3rd expression pedal! (It al gets even more complex but I bet it opens a world to different options) SO it would be cool if you could also look into that and teach us haha Cheers
Thanks for taking the time to produce this guide, great job! I'm a Katana newbie but getting to know it better and better as time goes by. I'm only a couple chapters into your guide so far bu already you've mentioned a few times that you no longer have your Artist, I'm curious to know why?
Because I got this _ stupid_ idea that I was going to buy the head and cabinet because I thought having the head with the built in speaker would be convenient as a portable option. The built in speaker sucked and I hated the cabinet because you have to really crank it up for it to sound really good. By this time I already sold the Artist and when I sold the head and cabinet, I wanted something smaller than the Artist, so I got the 100. Basically I made a terrible decision. One of many last year. 😆
Jfc, three hours talking about a practice amp for beginners. Possibly the biggest waste of time by anyone ever.
500+ other comments and 187K views say otherwise.
This is not a practice vamp you could definitely gig with this. No problem.

Man, amps have changed so much since back then
Glad you find it helpful!
It’s probably the only amp you’ll ever need seriously!
This is what I'm looking for . I'm planning to purchase katana 50MKII and lead me to this video. You nail it men. Watching from Saudi Arabia.
I just got a MKII 100. I’m glad I watched this video before even downloading tone studio. Excellent video.
Glad it was helpful!
This is absolutely the best tutorial I have viewed! GREAT JOB!
Thanks!
Best most informative video I’ve come across in regards to the katana . Literally taught me so much within the first 30 mins let alone the rest! Thankyou for taking the time to make this ☺️
This video on the boss katana has really helped me and my son out a lot man, I don’t know if anybody ever tells you thanks, but thank you.
Glad to hear it. I have several other tutorials for tones and more. Thanks for watching!
Glad it helped!
Thank you so much!! I was putting off downloading and updating the studio because it seemed sooo complicated but with your video I got it done in 10 minutes. Glad I did too because the noise suppressor is great.
That's what I love to hear! I'm glad it helped.
Thanks. Take a look around the channel. I have a bunch of other videos on the Katana that may be helpfuk.

Thank you so much for your kind words. There were parts I wanted to re-do, but this took a lot of time and energy. Thanks again!
Just purchased it and admit I am confused, thank you for the video. In the first 20 minutes I learned something new, pressing the LED lights!
It'll get easier. It can be quite overwhelming until you find your way around everything. Once you do that, it's tone heaven!
A very useful and impressively comprehensive review and tutorial -- thank you!
Just bought this amp and im super happy you took the time to do this. Thank you so much!
Thanks. You're gonna have a blast!
I have my Send/Return set ON and in series
Edit: Ok so I've only been playing for like 7/months... most of those on a practice kit amp and a few months on a THR10II.
Just got my Boss Katana mk2, and this video I GOLD!
This is great! As a Katana owner I thank you.
Thank you man. This was amazingly helpful for me. Ive been putting this off for a while and now its all updated and custom tones installed. Cheers
Glad it helped!
Thank you for all of time and detail that you put into this video. Excellent resource !
Thanks and enjoy!
Fucking hell, my dude! Never...NEVER...did I hope for " Boss Katana Mk II tutorial " to give me such a comprehensive, high quality guide. A++
Thank you for the kind words. Always glad when it helps someone.
Thank you I really appreciate your effort. This will be helpful to so many folks.
I mean it.
Thanks, I really appreciate it. There is always the "Thanks" button to the right of the download button, if you like.
The subtleties of the effects are greater than the pedals equivielent.....more settings get challenging, but its interesting to play with.
That's one thing I hate. I just wish the effects had the same exact controls as the actual pedals. With the boosts, play with the "Mix" a bit. Sometimes it vastly improves the tone.
@@Guitarnivore Been blending some original tone to drives to play with the levels switching on and off... Cheers again
Man, I just want to say you really did the do here brother. Many thanks!
Super awesome vid, really deep diving into the features, by far the best on youtube. thank you very much!
Incredible !!! Thanks for doing all that work !!! I've been running my pedal board into the clean channel on my Katana 50 MkII for my "wet" signal. My "dry" signal, and looper, go to my Blackstar HT5R. So there's another way to do it.
Whatever works for you. This amp has so much to offer.
i knew id seen a 3 hour video somewhere, i tried to search for it but couldnt find it. luckerly it was recommended again thank you.
I have a bunch of tutorials throughout the channel and I usually do a tone tutorial just about every week, sometimes twice a week.
Flanger with the long A and hard G got me 😆Loving this video and your channel. Just got my first Katana, the 50 mk2 this past weekend and just soaking it all up.
This video is excellent. Thank you very much for it (I've seen it multiple times)
Two things that would be so great, if you can cover on new videos:
1 - Cuvave chocolate bar with a Katana. It has the amazing capability of not only replacing the GA-FC footswitch but also enabling it for the Katana 50 Mk II (for under 30 bucks)
2 - Tweaking this amp for acoustic guitar, especially piezo sound (horrible)
Thanks man!
You picked a good one and got a great deal. I'm so glad this tutorial has helped so many people! Thanks.
Uncle Eric, same here. To both of y'all.
Thanks so much for your tutorial. After watching, I realize that I was using less than 10% of the katana's potential. Like was said, Boss should give you some money$$ for such a good job!
Thank you! I'm glad you can now dig deeper into it and get more out of it.
Excellent. I shall keep this as a reference. Thank you.
Thanks!
Thank you so much. It is very much appreciated!😃🤘
Enjoy!
I am so glad I didn't buy my Katana a few weeks ago before this video was out! Thank you so much just got my Katana 100w Head yesterday!
Have fun with it and thanks!
Damn, this course has to be worth at least 3 credits
(Seriously thank you for this professor Guitarnivore)
It's a lot to take in. I'm glad people find it useful. Thanks for watching!
@@Guitarnivore Of course, Had the chance to play one of these at a GC and was super impressed for the price. Didn't know you could do Presets and stuff on the computer with it
Simply awesome! Thank you for making such a great video on the Boss!
My pleasure!
@@Guitarnivore Truly a thorough rundown on the amp. I can’t wait to use my new Artist now! Thank you!!!!
@@LUKESTRONG4LIFE The artist is awesome. Loved mine. Never should have got rid of it, but I do enjoy the smaller size of the 100.
Dude this is an awesome video especially for somebody like me that refuses to read instructions
Just awesome video. Professional and cristal clear explanation. Thanks 🤘🏽
You have given me what Boss needed to do, INSTRUCTIONS!
Yeah, Boss isn't always the best with instructions
Thank you for this amazing job, thanks God for people like you, very helpful
Thanks, really helpful.
Thank you so much!!!
Sure was. Someone brought that to my attention awhile back. I'd like to do an updated version of this, but it was so much work. Thanks!
Cheers!
I think Boss's motto when it comes to instructions is, "They'll figure it out."
Thanks Dennis. it was a labor of love and trying to help people.
Wow great tutorial! So I love the explaination starting at 36:10 about the blinking lights.
Glad it was helpful! Every day I think about what I could have done better or what I may have missed. Thanks!
5 Stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 It's about time someone took the initiative to do this... It took me nearly a year to figure out my Artist MkII! 🤣
thanks for making this video. i just got the 100w 1x12 version 2 days ago and i honestly didnt have a clue what i was doing before watching this vid. the only amp ive owned previously was a fender frontman 15g with an empress heavy distortion pedal. i dont really play music where having good tone is a big deal (black metal isnt known for good sounding guitars), but its really cool to know more about the amp im using. you explained stuff very clearly and i just wanted to express some gratitude for that. i would give a donation with this comment, but i just spent all my money on the new amp lol. cheers
Glad it helped!
I have learned a lot from watching this. Bought the head as a back up to my 5153 stealth. One note, flanger I have always pronounced Flan-Jer. Still a great video!
I don't know why I still say it like that...maybe habit, but I know it's supposed to be flan-jer. 😆 Thanks for watching/commenting!
@@Guitarnivore Great, just send a couple of bucks, thank you SO Much again!
This video is a reference masterpiece for Katana MkII. Thank you for the huge work. 😊
Thank you!
Thank you sooo much for your efforts!!! 😊.. I will come back to finish watching soon... Cheers!!!
Great tutorial. Thanks. During Tone Studio setup, like a bonehead, I installed Mk1 software by mistake. Couldn't figure out why the amp wasn't connecting to the PC. Needed the MkII version. Duh! Should have watched your video. One of the first things you mentioned!
You won't be the last person to do it. Glad you got it worked out! Thanks.
Ugh I did this, too
Thanks!!! this helped me a lot!
Thank you so much!! I really appreciate it.
Thank you, great video. Around minute 36 i believe the panel led blinks because the speaker is in stand by mode.
You are correct! Someone else had pointed that out to me awhile back. It didn't even dawn on me that I had it in standby. Thanks!
Thank you so much for makingvthis amazing video, i just bought my usb cable and about to delve into upgrading the firmware 😁 and have a look at the tone studio for 1st time, i will keep your video to help me and subsribe to you thanks again my freind 🙂🙂
Thanks and enjoy. This amp has so much to offer.
Dude, you are awesome!
In case you are interested:
Flange
Flanger
The ‘ang’ is pronounced like Angela
ang in English he’s actually rather strange and has a number of different possible pronunciations with the long and short, a sound and hard and soft G sound
Of course there’s anger stranger. Language, Orange to name a few, but as the root of this word is flange, it is known as a flange-er .
I don’t care though. You can call it Flanger as much as you want but this video was helpful for me in navigating the interface so I figured I’d offer some instruction in return
Thank you buddy ,
Thank you for explaining in such detail. Your awesome sir. Keep on rocking yal!
My Katana is awesome! I own 2 tube amps and honestly cant tell the difference between them. Boss nailed it.
I'm so glad you talked me into getting one of these. That rotary effect is very cool, I can do Gregg Allman's Hammond B3 parts on guitar, Ha! I wish, you get what i mean though. So many things to do but don't seem overwhelming because it's layed out so well.
This is awesome. Can't tell u how much I appreciate this!!
Glad you liked it!
This deserves a subscribe
Good morning Julia!
This has helped me so much. Thank you 😊
Brilliant video; you cover everything and assume nothing 👍. Thank you for your hard work.
Best informative video on tube, love your style
Thank you!
(It al gets even more complex but I bet it opens a world to different options)
SO it would be cool if you could also look into that and teach us haha
Cheers
I've got the EX in the video towards the end. I also did a second video to explain the functions of the EX better.
Liked and subbed. I'll have to watch this one in segments. Great video.
Thanks! It's certainly a lot to take in. I also did them all individually for those that might not need all of this in one video. Enjoy.
Thank you for this video !
Dude this and this and the katana library vid helped alot glad I found ur channel
Glad it helps. This amp can be a bit much to work with at first.
@@Guitarnivore yea I just spent 2 hours in there to tryo get the distortion crackle sound to go away I pretty much got it. U have any tips for that?
@@DavidAllenMD You're getting crackling from your speaker, headphones or through PC?
Absolutely correct , i have not updated mine , it's because i have GX 100 up to date ,that i take every where and plug & play.
