"You Can't Just Stand Here & Record...Corporate Security Will Come"

  • I had the pleasure of collaborating once again with ‪@sidewalks22‬ to document along the public sidewalk outside these bank locations next door to one another. We noticed some of the employees inside the BofA branch were looking out the windows towards us. Eventually a woman from inside the bank came outside to inform us that she would be contacting corporate security because of our presence recording outside the bank. She returned inside and proceeded to get on her phone to place a call. they also locked the doors facing the sidewalk towards where we were recording from. That was a surprise as it would make it difficult for customers attempting to enter the building to conduct their business, as there was what appeared to be another entrance on the parking lot side of the facility. Eventually police arrived on scene. Thankfully the officer dispatched was cordial with us. He told us that he explained to the calling party inside, we have a right to document freely in public & reminded us to not block any doorways or go on the property.
This was an easy call to give a pass to the responding officer & a fail to the calling party , but at the end of the day all's well that end's well with more people becoming enlightened about public photography/videography rights.
A shout out goes to Sidewalks22 for joining me today on this video!

I don’t know how those people can stand around doing zero.
When I was working I walked into work sat down and started working and stayed working till it was time to leave. My job was to work till my job was done so I usually had a hour or half hour of overtime almost each day. People brought me work all day everyday. If I left and more work came in then the next person picked up the work up and did it till the end of the day of their shift.
They’re so stupid. Locking their own customers out of the bank.

It always seems that people who have issues with being filmed in public are people who have come to America for freedoms and liberty, and yet they are reporting being filmed in public, where they couldn’t do in their old countries. I don’t understand it, nor do I understand why anyone would be offended and concerned about public photography. Americans should have no issues about the freedoms that we have. If they are ignorant of our rights it’s only on them for being so ignorant. Great audit, please keep them coming not only for our pleasure but also to educate the offended.

Why didn't the cop site them for locking the door during business hours? Isn't that a fire risk? Cops never do their job right.

    Good audit as usual👍🏼
I’ve audited a few Bank of America’s in the past and they definitely don’t like public photography that’s for sure.
That Bank of America on Honolulu Avenue gets a FAIL👎🏼
Nothing wrong with being curious, but locking the doors on customers and calling the police because there’s a couple of guys peacefully taking pictures on the sidewalk…. wow!
Martinez wasn’t that bad. Seems like most of the departments have been educated.
