Excellent guide! Just to add - when you have the Gear Cube with the Tony Fisher Stickers (with stickers on the inner edges) after you do Kenneth solution - if the inner stickers are not alined put the side where all the inner edges are mixed in-front of you (in this position all the horizental inner edges will have two match parallel edges) and do the following algorithm: R,D,R,D,R,D This should fix the inner edges on all sides. Good luck! :-)
The colour scheme is different from one another, look at the colour scheme on your cube, as this tutorial is so old that the colour scheme is different back then
Thanks! Great video! I bought this cube because it looked extremely interesting. Your explanations are clear and concise. I was able to solve the cube relatively quick and was able to solve on my own the third try. To me this cube is easier to solve than a Rubik's cube.
@@aneskatzaev9152 Yes it is. It grabs people's attention, that's for sure. Everyone I've come across assumes it's harder to solve than a Rubik's cube, but it's actually easier. There aren't nearly as many algorithms as a Rubik's cube. REDKB does a great job of explaining how to solve it. So yes, it's worth buying. You'll have fun with it.
great tutorial, simple and easy to understand, I only watch your video once and I already can solve my gear cube :D Thanks a lot for the video , I really appreciate it :D
I really thought gear cube is one of the cubes that are hard to solve, but now that I've watched this, it didn't even seem that hard! Thank you so much!!

another hint is that in the third step, if you turn the sides in the direction the edges are pointing, so the least edge he solved was pointing down, the first two were pointing up, when you twist the right side in the direction they are pointing, you only eed to do r4 once, rather than the twice he had to do it on the video.
Another great tutorial Kenneth; you are honestly the reason I can solve a lot of my puzzles. Not only are your tutorials easy to follow, but you manage to make them pleasant to watch as well. Thank you for all of the work that goes into making your videos, I know there are a lot of us who appreciate it. :D

I find it funny that people have to watch a how to solve video. The entire point is figuring it out yourself. It takes awhile looking and thinking at it, but it's solvable. Don't ruin the satisfaction of figuring it out by watching a video like this ahead of time.

@@ThatSB My defense for his comment, would be that a normal quarter turn will not allow you to continue on any other turn. Therefore saying U R2, you cannot perform an R2 without moving the top layer twice. Since the normal U is turning the top layer twice, by simple connection (and watching the video) the R2 would be double layer turns.
In your video, you gave the algorithm in case the edge pieces are parallel but not if they are across from each other like the X step? What is the other algorithm?
You've misunderstood and forgotten to look at the description. With the Gear Cube, you can only do 180 degree turns. So a U on the Gear Cube is equivalent to a U2 on the Rubik's Cube. A R2 on the Gear Cube is equivalent a R4 on the Rubik's Cube. I hope that clears it up for you. :)
A friend of mine found one of these at a pallet store yesterday and said, I found you a Rubik's cube, then gave it to me. I said that's NOT a Rubik's cube, that's a F'd up cube. LOL After hearing you warning about the pinching, I ended up pinching my thumb. LOL OUCH! This is one of the most craziest things I have ever seen! What made that guy come up with this thing???
@TheiTouchGuys If only one edge is twisted it cannot be solved. Either your gear cube was taken apart or a gear jumped out of place. You will need to twist the gear back by making the gear skip or by taking the puzzle apart.
When i first buyed this thing (it doesn't came with an instruction), my internet shutted down, so i cant watch tutorial. I was like.. well, lets just experiment here. Idk how but i managed to find a way to solve it in less than half an hour. *EDIT* : Im not lying, i watch this tutorial just to check if there's a simpler way to solve it. My steps to solve it: -solve a layer (a bit complicated to explain how, but i know a way to get it under 20 secs). -turn the third layer until the cube back to it's "square" form. -done.
I noticed you did the last step you turned the right side up 8 times. There is an easier way. If you look at the top of the edge it will either lean towards the left or the right. If it is towards the left turn the right side 4 times down. If it leans towards the right turn the right side 4 times up.
Just one thing! I noticed on the last step (orient edges) that the last orientation with the edges didn't work because you can see that the last ring of edges was twisted to the left from your angle! If you do R4' in such a situation it would give you a faster time. Or you could do a y2 turn and still use R4. Just a tip ;) Your videos are great man! I love them! Plz keep on doing them!
i have another way. First do step 1: the corners like in the video, then step 2: orient the edges. do it like in the video but it doesn't matter if colors are matched up, just that its like a cube. then step 3: position the edges. find two edges that aren't the right colors on the same side and put them vertical and do the algorithm 2R U 2R' U'. and do that step until its solved. if u try it, it will make more sense.
Great tutorial. Now I need a tutorial about how to scramble a gear cube. This seems so much harder than solving it... It always seems to be ending up being more or less solved when I try to scramble this cube.
