Thank you man, this helps me to find something to do in my spare time and just enjoy learning once again!
you actually made getting a 5 second solve doable; i used to think that getting fast needs myself to be god and is impossible. This video actually gave me motivation to improve!
7:56 that OLL can be one-look with putting the right unoriented sticker to the front(which is where u normally execute the alg from)and recognising PLL from there, which in that case, u will get a skip.
I'm currently trying to achieve a sub-60s average and I've been practicing for about two weeks. I've reduced my time from 2-2.5 minutes to about 75s, however I've had two 50s solves when I got a lucky cross, great F2L options, and PLL skips. I'm also using 2-look OLL/PLL. My ultimate goal I think is to get to 30s. At that point I'll make a judgement call on how fast I want to be and if learning full OLL/PLL is worth the time.
Taught myself to solve a 3x3 a couple of years ago, took me about 3 months but I have never been quick ! after watching this I'm going to do something about it, step 1, get myself a speed cube - ordered :-)
Hey Brody, I just wanted you to know that for the OLL case at 7:50, you can simply look at the cube from the left side to predict the skip (or literally any PLL for that matter). The alg for that case preserves everything in LL, except that the sticker facing up on the BU edge will move to the location of the front facing sticker on the FU edge.
