Solved it in two days , now I can do it without watching. Thank you for being a great instructor!! I’m working on a faster time now. I can do it in about 6 minutes.
That's great! Me and her are on day 2, and scramble the ending for solving step 8 every time. She goes to quickly at the end. She does a good job for sure compared to other demos. Just wish she would slow the F down and let us finish strong lol

I'm 57 yrs old & got my first Rubiks cube before RUclips in 1981 & also messed with several others over the years since but with this video & a lot of pause & backup 10 secs I just solved one for the first time ever ending a 42 year drought & im proud as a peacock!! This explains way better than the other dozen I tried before & even during bit kept coming back to this one cuz it gives the best explanations by far !! Thanks !
I had the same experience! I had one as a middle schooler and i am 59 now. Gave my son my cube a few years ago because he learned how to do it. I asked for one for christmas so i could finally learn!
this is 100% the only video you need that doesn't make it over complicated or blabber on and on between each step, then do the moves at like 100mph so you have to stop start stop start rewind well done and thanks, I did it a few times and made notes, almost got it memorised now
@@Tsekalare yeah well that doesn't really factor into it for me, I mean sure she's attractive enough but that's hardly what the video is about. She has a nice voice which is perhaps more relevant if you end up rewinding a few times
Update I have now memorised the whole process and have done it many times, thinking of getting a 4x4 now. For now it just really annoys the kids who can't work out how I'm doing it lol
bought a cube two days ago. All the other tutorials I saw were so annoying to watch. They didn't even try to think from the mindset of a beginner. I did and redid the cube like 15-20 times and I could only get one side. Haven't seen this one, hopefully it helps
Finished my first one in 2 hours with this video. After an hour I got to the very end and somehow messed up BAD so I remixed the whole thing and started over again. Got it ! This was one of the best videos to learn from
This is the best video I've found! I love that she teaches foundational skills that can be used to solve the cube in any scenario. It took me a few days watching and re-watching, but I finally solved my first cube today!

When she said " solved " I looked at my cube and only yellow part was good and others were scrambled... I retried and retried until I did it!! Like me 🙂 never ever give up! Hehe
I've finally done it. It's taken me quite a few times to get it. And will have to keep watching until I get it in my brain. I would also like to thank you for helping me with this, I'm going thru a personal tragedy at the moment with the sudden unexpected death of my wife and this as helped me thru some of the most painful moments by helping me keep my mind occupied. probably the single-best follow-along video for solving the cube... took me many partial rewinds/rewatches to work out glitches in my cube when I made mistakes along the way... now I can solve about 3/4 of the cube without the video. it's always the final layer or part of the final layer where I still need to peek-and-practice.... I've just completed this using a different video. I didn't understand her way at all. Its still taken me 2 days and 7 hours solid tonight. Its going to take days and days to memorize it. I still mess up when I try again.

It seems like a lot of the other videos (especially those made by men) are less about instruction and more about just showing off their "mad puzzle solving skills." I still have all of my cubes and snakes etc..from my childhood. Thats back in the 70's and 80's. My oldest son became enamored with them when he was in kindergarten. He was able to solve any of them only minutes after I shook them up. It took him a few months of playing around with them before he got it down. I was so proud of him.

You are a fabulous teacher. No ego, showing off or any of the things that discourage new cubers. So clear and user friendly. I am an older person who has cubed for 15 years. I solve many cubes, cuboids, odd shaped magic cubes, and supercubes and these often require the basic moves you teach here. So while this is very beginner it is also very useful for advanced complex cubes that can't be solved with advanced algs, A pleasure!! OK I HAVE THE CORRECTION TO THIS VIDEO if you are having problems getting the last step and your yellows are not aligning like hers: Even though your yellow might not be facing the right side (like hers is)... do what she says anyway. When her move is complete, you must do the move AGAIN to flip yellow the correct way. The last yellow piece might not be facing the way her is either. If it isn't, do the move twice again. This was by far the best video on youtube and mine is now complete.
Yeah, I had tofigure that part out on my own, too. I couldn't solve the cube because my yellows weren't aligning right like hers were. I finally figured out to keep moving the bottom until the yellow was aligned. The day I figured that out was the first time I solved the cube, which was around a week ago or a little less.

Thank you. The way you explained each step is clear, if a little fast at times on the first run through. I got my first Rubic’s cube around 40 years ago and never got past solving a couple of faces at once. Within a few days I’m down to 3 minutes to solve it.

You have no idea how happy you have made me. My dad used to do the Rubik's Cube when I was younger and it always amazed me. I think he taught himself which is pretty incredible. My brain doesn't work that way so I needed this very simple step-by-step method. I had tried two others but they just didn't have the simple to understand terminology to make it work. They were all "right apostrophe, left apostrophe etc etc". I have just completed my first ever cube and I'm delighted. Thank you so much. I can't seem to get this part either. Every time it gets messed up. I even had it where there was only one corner to solve, but somehow even though that corner ended up correct the rest of the cube is no longer right 😭
@@Dennyiix seriously I still don't get it. I've done it a dozen times and the bottom is all perfect yellow but my cube isn't solved. All the other parts are smooth as butter now but I can't get that last bit. So I can 95% solve a cube now D:

Ok, as long as a yellow square is in the bottom right hand corner it should work. When you twist and there’s no yellow, just do your right algorithm until you pull a yellow out and put it back in that corner, then twist, and repeat. I hope that makes sense!

Finally did it!! Couldn't figure out how to do the last step correctly after looking at many videos, but yours was the one that did the deed. Thanks! For other beginners like me, I'll suggest you to use a combination of different methods from other youtubers and see which fits perfectly with you. I used this video along with the Wired channels video. Edit: I tried the last step with another scrambled piece. The yellow is solved but rest of it is scrambled. Sadly she didn't cover this scenario, so keeping looking guys! Even 2 videos might not be enough 🥲
My error was turning the entire cube, when solving for the yellow corners (with yellow on bottom). You want to rotate to put your yellow piece in that right hand corner. Then you’ll be able to solve it.

This is the best explanation I found! Omg, the feeling of solving the whole thing after only being able to solve one side for years is unreal! Something about the way you call it an "algorithm" just made sense, and my brain and hands just do it without me consciously thinking about it. This is the best tutorial I've found. There is only one thing I have found that you didn't cover. On the last step, when you are doing the right algorythms and spinning the bottom, you need to keep in mind which corner(s) are not orented correctly. You will want to leave corners that aren't oriented correctly in the bottom right front corner and do the algorythm. I had trouble reorienting corners that were correct following the 2 right algorythms and spin the bottom method. It finally hit me that you need to keep correctly oriented corners out of the spot.
@@alyssa.3276 I keep doing the right algorythm until the bottom right front corner matches the ones next to it. I then spin the bottom until an unsolved corner is in that position and continue the right algorythm until its solved..
I also love the tutorial, but I can't position all of my corners the same way she did it. I read your comment, but I am not sure I get it. So, you do the right algorithm, but you don't spin the bottom (after two right algorithms) just once? I keep doing the right algorithm but I can't aligns the corners as she does. For example, sometimes they are on the correct spot, but face the wrong side.
@@Viperrra I do the right algorithm as many times as it takes to match the bottom right front corner. After that, I spin the bottom to an unsolved corner and start the right algorithm process again until another corner matches. Keep doing it until you solve the cube.
@@GLHS592 Thank you... I have solved it ten times, but sometimes I still get stuck! When I do URU'L'UR'U'L from the correct corner (seventh step), sometimes it seems like I'm turning it forever and the corners still don't align properly... and according to online tutorials, they should. I tried with partially unsolved corners (but of the matching colors - different position patterns, though) doing the right algorithm (eight step), it sometimes reverses some corners. I am not sure if I got you. So, the original pattern is: right alg right alg turn the bottom part counterclockwise ONCE right alg right alg turn the bottom part counterclockwise ONCE right alg right alg Do you add additional bottom turn or do you switch counter clockwise to clockwise? This solves the cube only when corner's right colors are on the right side, but not left or top (I am not sure if I explained this) I am sorry for the comment length, I'm at the end of my wits here
This is a great video. It took me several times to fully get it. I kept messing up on the last step. But now I’ve solved it several times. Definitely recommend this video.

My mystery cube of mixed colours was nothing but a reminder of how unclear life was.....it used to sit there....mocking me as I paced around the room using all my mental capacity to figure out the right combination to solve the little demon that cornered me in doubt......but now.....NOW my eyes are opened, the cube is solved and so is the question of our existence....it all makes sense now.

I've just completed this using a different video. I didn't understand her way at all. Its still taken me 2 days and 7 hours solid tonight. Its going to take days and days to memorize it. I still mess up when I try again.

I still have all of my cubes and snakes etc..from my childhood. Thats back in the 70's and 80's.
My oldest son became enamored with them when he was in kindergarten. He was able to solve any of them only minutes after I shook them up. It took him a few months of playing around with them before he got it down. I was so proud of him.
My brother turned 10 years old and for his 10th birthday he wanted a rubik's cube and all he did was search for a good video and couldn't solve it and after few days he found your channel and learnt to solve rubik's cube in only 3 days and now I'm jealous.

You are a fabulous teacher. No ego, showing off or any of the things that discourage new cubers. So clear and user friendly. I am an older person who has cubed for 15 years. I solve many cubes, cuboids, odd shaped magic cubes, and supercubes and these often require the basic moves you teach here. So while this is very beginner it is also very useful for advanced complex cubes that can't be solved with advanced algs, A pleasure!! Hands down the best tutorial on RUclips. I messed it up at first, because I didn’t make sure all the corner pieces were in the right spot near the end. I'm teaching my kids how to solve the cube, so I found this video to let them watch (because it turns out I'm not that great at teaching it, lol). And surprisingly, I learned a few things from it even though I've known how to solve the cube for over 20 years. I was able to shave a few seconds off my solve time with some of your instructions! OK I HAVE THE CORRECTION TO THIS VIDEO if you are having problems getting the last step and your yellows are not aligning like hers: Even though your yellow might not be facing the right side (like hers is)... do what she says anyway. When her move is complete, you must do the move AGAIN to flip yellow the correct way. The last yellow piece might not be facing the way her is either. If it isn't, do the move twice again. This was by far the best video on youtube and mine is now complete.

Yeah, I had tofigure that part out on my own, too. I couldn't solve the cube because my yellows weren't aligning right like hers were. I finally figured out to keep moving the bottom until the yellow was aligned. The day I figured that out was the first time I solved the cube, which was around a week ago or a little less.

Thank you. The way you explained each step is clear, if a little fast at times on the first run through. I got my first Rubic’s cube around 40 years ago and never got past solving a couple of faces at once. Within a few days I’m down to 3 minutes to solve it.

You have no idea how happy you have made me. My dad used to do the Rubik's Cube when I was younger and it always amazed me. I think he taught himself which is pretty incredible. My brain doesn't work that way so I needed this very simple step-by-step method. I had tried two others but they just didn't have the simple to understand terminology to make it work. They were all "right apostrophe, left apostrophe etc etc". I have just completed my first ever cube and I'm delighted. Thank you so much. I have no idea who you are or what your background is but I guess maybe this is your 'thing' ie taking things and making them simple. If I'm ever stuck on anything again I will look for your help. I can't seem to get this part either. Every time it gets messed up. I even had it where there was only one corner to solve, but somehow even though that corner ended up correct the rest of the cube is no longer right 😭

Yeah! Me too! I don’t know if I need to keep the yellow square on the right side of the cube! Or if it’s ok to have a yellow square facing towards me!
Ok, as long as a yellow square is in the bottom right hand corner it should work. When you twist and there’s no yellow, just do your right algorithm until you pull a yellow out and put it back in that corner, then twist, and repeat. I hope that makes sense!

For other beginners like me, I'll suggest you to use a combination of different methods from other youtubers and see which fits perfectly with you. I used this video along with the Wired channels video.
Edit: I tried the last step with another scrambled piece. The yellow is solved but rest of it is scrambled. Sadly she didn't cover this scenario, so keeping looking guys! Even 2 videos might not be enough 🥲

My error was turning the entire cube, when solving for the yellow corners (with yellow on bottom). You want to rotate to put your yellow piece in that right hand corner. Then you’ll be able to solve it.

This is the best explanation I found! Omg, the feeling of solving the whole thing after only being able to solve one side for years is unreal! Something about the way you call it an "algorithm" just made sense, and my brain and hands just do it without me consciously thinking about it. Took me several attempts and a couple times messing it up at the end but I got it!!!
This is the best tutorial I've found. There is only one thing I have found that you didn't cover. On the last step, when you are doing the right algorythms and spinning the bottom, you need to keep in mind which corner(s) are not orented correctly. You will want to leave corners that aren't oriented correctly in the bottom right front corner and do the algorythm. I had trouble reorienting corners that were correct following the 2 right algorythms and spin the bottom method. It finally hit me that you need to keep correctly oriented corners out of the spot.

@@alyssa.3276 I keep doing the right algorythm until the bottom right front corner matches the ones next to it. I then spin the bottom until an unsolved corner is in that position and continue the right algorythm until its solved..
I also love the tutorial, but I can't position all of my corners the same way she did it. I read your comment, but I am not sure I get it. So, you do the right algorithm, but you don't spin the bottom (after two right algorithms) just once? I keep doing the right algorithm but I can't aligns the corners as she does. For example, sometimes they are on the correct spot, but face the wrong side.
@@Viperrra I do the right algorithm as many times as it takes to match the bottom right front corner. After that, I spin the bottom to an unsolved corner and start the right algorithm process again until another corner matches. Keep doing it until you solve the cube.

When I do URU'L'UR'U'L from the correct corner (seventh step), sometimes it seems like I'm turning it forever and the corners still don't align properly... and according to online tutorials, they should.
I tried with partially unsolved corners (but of the matching colors - different position patterns, though) doing the right algorithm (eight step), it sometimes reverses some corners.
I am not sure if I got you. So, the original pattern is:

turn the bottom part counterclockwise ONCE

turn the bottom part counterclockwise ONCE

Do you add additional bottom turn or do you switch counter clockwise to clockwise?
This solves the cube only when corner's right colors are on the right side, but not left or top (I am not sure if I explained this)
