    I was working on this for days, and I too was having the last step mess everything up. I just figured out why... When you flip the cube over with the yellow cross facing down and you start doing the RT Algorithm to move the corners down, be sure to finish the Algorithm. I was forgetting the very last step of the algorithm by turning the top face left. Hope that helps, and good luck!

    Thank you Claudia
    I had tried to do this cube around the age of 20, I'm now over 60 years old, it broke my heart, even bought a print out from some lads in the market that supposedly gave the solution to the puzzle ... it didn't help,
    this year my grandson visited Santa and when asked what he would like Santa to bring He answered 'A Rubiks cube' I thought here we go again lol,
    Needles to say the cube's got mixed up too much for him and he tried his little heart out to sort it But had to give up the battle,
    After watching your first video I was with you till near the end then had to give up because i couldn't keep up, thanks for lettings people know that videos can be slowed down on here, that's gonna be very handy for me in the future, So I learnt 2 things from your extremely well put together video's ,
    Showed my grandson the completed cube an it brought the smile back to his face... I'm sure he will pick it up a lot faster than I.
    Thank you for taking the time to do these videos , you saved the day for me .

    I think one of the best pieces of advice I can give as someone who finished a cube last night after watching a couple of your videos is, don't be afraid to start over if it gets messed up just scramble the cube and start back from the daisy. because repeating these steps will mean you actually learn the steps. I didn't want to finish the cube at the end of this video and not be able to scramble it and do it again. I wanted to actually learn how to solve a Rubik's cube which means I've started over around 50 times and I now have all the steps down and can solve a cube from the start without having to pull up a video so I remember a certain part.

    • @xchalibur77

      @@melissacroucher6021 we're just watch her video and try mastering each step one at a time by doing the first step and then mixing the cube up and doing it over and over until you've mastered that first step. Once you've got that learn the second step and do the first and second step together until you master it. Only move on once you've mastered each step and the steps before it together. It took me two days until I finally got it. And this was the only video that was able to help me do it.

    Thanks for a great video. To aid my memory, I created some mnemonics for the yellow cross - I hope these are useful:
    ‘Cambridge University Lecturers Drink Real Ale’
    Following the first letter of the words in this phrase helps me to remember the order of the moves
    Clockwise, Up, Left, Down, Right, Anti-clockwise
    Then, for the placement of the adjacent pieces under the yellow cross:
    ‘University Lecturers Drink Lager Until Red Rum Dies’
    Taking the first letter of this phrase helps me to remember:
    Up, Left, Down, Left, Up, Right, Right, Down
    (Just be sure to remember that the left and right apply to turning the top face, and the up and down to the right side. These applying to both algorithms)

    Every time I try to solve mine I get as far as the yellow corners but I already have 2 corners solved so I do the other 2 and it's just scrambled again also sometimes the yellow on the corners piece isn't facing the right direction so I do the right algorithm more to make it work and then when i do the other ones it screws up the cube again. Sometimes I also have all four yellow corners to solved and then I get to the 3rd one and it solves the cube but I still have one more to go so I solve it but it scramble the rest of the cube, next time for troubleshooting maybe try to focus on things like this because like you said "there are so many ways a cube can be scrambled" so I think mine got scrambled differently because I've tried to resolve my cube 1000 times and it doesn't work no matter how much I pay attention to the video and do it slowly over and over again. IT STILL DOESN'T WORK!!!! So could you please do a video where you actually do troublshooting and not just explain the same thing over and over.
    Thanks.

    The thing about this video is that it changes some of the moves from the learnt ones in the first video and that creates more confusion. In the first video you have exactly all the correct moves to solve it and especially for beginners they ought to stay with those moves. If something does not work keep trying because eventually it will make sense. The only problem I saw was at the end solving for the yellow where you had two corners with yellow to solve and sometimes one has more than one corner to solve… stay on the same face and turn the bottom however many times until the corner that needs to be solved is in the bottom righthand corner and then do the right algorithm and repeat and everything will fall in place.

  • @mcshow8121
    @mcshow8121 Год назад +4

    It really is important to FINISH the last right algorithm. It’s easy to get all excited once that yellow corner is solved and forget to move the top back into position

    • @F_YT2023
      @F_YT2023 Год назад +1

      That’s right … that will create lots of problems and it will not be solved. The other important thing is to stay on the same face at this step and to bring the corner to be solved at the bottom to the bottom right hand corner… in her video she turns the bottom only once but there are instances where you have to turn it twice to get that piece to be solved into the position before doing the rt algorithm. She did not mention that on the video.

    For the last step of solving the yellow corners, are there any situations where it does not work? I seem to be getting stuck on that step. On both of your videos the yellow corners are next to eachother and you rotate the bottom once and solve for the yellow piece. What if they are across from eachother and you have to skip one corner? Do you rotate the bottom twice in this case?

    VITAL INFO: to anyone who has solved it before, but can no longer completer the final section. For example you complete the final yellow bottom section but the rest is scrambled, or you just have one square (corner) incomplete at the end…
    After doing the cube multiple times with ease two days in a row, I tried it again a following day and no matter how many times I did everything exactly as shown and exactly as I’d done previously the cube wouldn’t be solved. Either I was left with one corner wrong at the end or I had completed the bottom yellow section but it left me with a scrambled rest of the cube…. Drove me mad for a whole evening. Turns out… the corners can accidentally get twisted either by doing the algorithm quickly and not carefully or perhaps kids have got got hold of it etc lol….
    You need to get the cube to a stage where you only have one corner out of place. Keep doing the cube from scratch until you get to that stage. Then you need to forcefully twist that final corner back into place, otherwise you’re battling against an impossible cube to solve. The corners can slip… beware!!!!

But then after 2 days of searching and almost thinking to quit I saw your video I watched through 5 seconds of the video and I thought that this might be the one so I picked up my Rubik's cube and started following the tutorial. After a day I finished doing the first and the second row when I showed my crush he still couldn't believe that I did that by myself, I told him that I didn't and I used a tutorial. The next day I finally solved the Rubik's cube, and I was blazing with happiness I texted my crush to tell him that i finally solved a Rubik's cube and I think he didn't believe me so he told me to do it in person I got to the second row after 2 minutes she still didn't believe me so I thought I had to watch the tutorial again and after I did and I showed him I finally solved it after 3 minutes and he finally believed me. Great thankyou. The last Alg was confusing as I repeatedly got to the stage of the Yellow corners and made the mistake of stopping when the corner was in place. But having watched slowly realised that I wasn't completing all 4 moves resulting in scrambled end. So for anyone reading this; make sure all four moves are completed. Result.......success every time. !!

    I used your vids on the Rubik’s cube to help me figure out how to do it and it worked, for the most part. I seem to have a defective cube here because all but two colour (mini cubes) match up - yellow, red and blue cube). When you look at it and and were to rotate that one piece in any way it still does not match up. I will buy a new cube (this one is from my childhood (20 yrs ago) and see if it works with that.
    By the way, your explanation and step-by-step guide on this is second to none. You’re on point (with this and your other vids) and you’re amazing!

      @@sposmay for a few days I was having the same issue and i was wondering why. when solving for the yellow face, make sure you finish the entire algorithm (all 4 steps) before rotating the bottom row to solve the next yellow corner. I caught myself once the yellow was aligned in a line, i wasn't doing the 4th step in the algorithm (as in the top counter clockwise move). Trust me when you start doing that and you make sure you don't miss it, you will solve it every single time.

    • @levikvartanossian7660
      @levikvartanossian7660 3 года назад +3

      @@betsyenck5862 please read my comment to ASMR in this same thread. I guarantee you, you are missing the last step of the algorithm when solving for the yellow, and that is throwing everything into a mess. I was so frustrated as I was 100% sure i was doing it right, and it wasn't solving. but once I made sure that I was doing all 4 steps for each yellow corner, i stared solving it. Now with that in mind, i'm solving my cube in less than 4 minutes without any continuous frustration. :) Good Luck.

      @levikvartanossian7660 3 года назад +2

      Please see my comments above. I guarantee you it will not mess up, if you pay attention to one of the moves, that i'm 100% sure you are ommitting. :)

    I just finished my cube. I would have finished it earlier if I had know that sometimes the cube gets impossible to solve if the mechanism is disturbed. I had accidentally flipped one of the sides so it was impossible to solve. I took the pieces apart and put them back in the rightful places so that it went to default mode ( completely solved) . Scrambled it again and again and then was able to solve it every time thanks to you.

      -Reply to myself as I figured it out myself. You can spin the lower layer more then once if before doing the alg. Note: you need to make sure and complete the full alg before spinning the lower layer (I kept on messing up because I didn’t complete the alg).

Cause right now my cube looks like it is solved just that the orange top centre is on the blue, the green top centre on the orange ,red on green, and blue on red. So it looks so close.
