    Hi, nice Video! One tip for beginners: before you start watching the Video and solving the cube, try to build the white side. Its not a step of solving the cube but its good to get used to how the cube works and the pieces move.

      And then also build the layer intuitively especially after learning how to do so with the video. And also remember that if all the corners are solved, but the rest of the cube is messed up, just keep on doing the sexy move/righty alg until everything is solved but that corner. Then twist the corner to solve it because it’s unsolvable. Also, if you have to switch 2 corners, just take out the edge in between them (if they’re across, just do it with 2 random corners in the top layer), and just switch them and put the edge back in.

    I had the Rubik’s cube when it first came out back in 1989. I could only get one layer. Even when reading tutorials in magazines (yes, magazines! No internet.), I could not get it solved. Only by taking it apart could I solve it. Now, many, many, many years later, I am solving the cube with the help of this video in less than 3 mins. after 1 day. Thank you so much for your excellent tutorial!

    This was a great tutorial! The intro was fun, so hopefully beginners will stay interested. It’s great that you showed any hiccups that might occur with their cube, but especially in some of the beginning steps you mentioned “like so”. I know it might have been weird, but good job using some wrist turns so that they can replicate it better. You didn’t talk about notation for future learning, which might be good for a beginner tutorial because it does look kinda complicated. The last layer was incredibly simplified, which is great for someone who is new. I never learned using this technique and had to learn hard and confusing algorithms from the start, but I think other people will learn this way because of this video. Who knows, maybe they’ll get hooked and keep going, or just satisfy their need to solve that cube that’s been on their shelf unsolved for years.
    It was really weird watching him do a sune in the example solve when he had a jperm.

    My nine year old wanted to learn how to solve a cube so I ordered a couple speed cubes. It took us more than a few tries but we rewatched the video several times and got it finally. Fast-forward two days and my son solves his cube consistently in the 1:20 range and has a PB of 57 seconds using this method alone! He’s so proud!!
    Little things like this can really change a kids confidence level and snowball into bigger things later on. Thanks for the video!
    Edit: 6 days in his PB is 50 secs.
    Edit: day 8 PB 45 secs. Overall average 1:05.
    Edit: Couple months in. PB 33 secs. Times in the low 40’s consistently. Get the feeling that beginner method pretty much topping out. Prob need to learn other methods to go much faster. Would be cool to hit sub 30 sec at least once w/ beginner method though.

I already know how to solve a 3x3, but if you know how to solve a 4x4 then can you make a tutorial for me. Your 3x3 tutorial is so easy to understand, and I hope you make a 4x4 tutorial. • @ChrisSChoi
    @ChrisSChoi 2 года назад +7

    I think nicklas is hard for beginners so I teach to make the yellow face first with the corners not in the right place using the righty alg then take them out and put it in the right place and repeat until the cube is solved. I learnt this trick from J perm's megaminx tutorial for the last layer but it works on a 3 by 3 and is easier to remember for beginners and one less alg to remember.
    Hopefully it helps you and newcomers to the cubing community

      lol I tried the same thing on my 3x3 after learning how to solve a megaminx, I was like does this works on 3x3 too? then it worked and I thought it is way easier than most beginner methods people taught on YT (I used to use A perm to switched the 3 corners around)

    Great explanation. I've only been cubing for about 4 months and primarily use CFOP. It's helpful that you explained how the pieces move instead of displaying the algorithms on the screen. Eventually it will become muscle memory to the point you can do the algos with your eyes closed. But it's extrememy important to understand how the pieces move to correct mistakes.

    For anyone struggling to memorise whether to use right or left alg in the first layer corners, you can always just put it on the right above the slot and then only use the right alg, it will just take longer. Also, another reason you may only have 1 or 3 edges flipped correctly in the yellow cross is because you have not finished second layer. 100% MAKE SURE that that is not the case before you consider taking your cube apart.
    (*sighs* why did the cubing community have to call it the "sexy move", we'll just have to keep renaming it to righty alg forever...)

    • @ActualDumBatcha
      @ActualDumBatcha 2 года назад +2

      Actually you can’t have two corners in the correct spot, because think about it. The bottom corners are solved, and you are adding the two corners, plus all of the edges, which means the last two corners are swapped. The only way you can have two corners solved is if you messed up a prior step
