Love the opening segment. Someone putting in a lot of effort ,so thanks for that. Great watching as always. I’m watching you guys do what I do. Ha

Hi Scott! For some reason this is the only way I can comment today(?) I would really like to buy or swap for the steering wheel out of that R5 Sport. If you're open to the idea get in touch. I'm VASTLY wealthy in old Mopar bits and pieces and sometimes even have actual money. I have a nice set of N.O.S. '60 Buick front signal lenses and 1 N.O.S. '59-'60 Buick tail-light lens(still in 75% of the original box), maybe we can do a deal
I feel lucky that I caught the rare episode where Scott buys an old ratty car😅
Good things come in 3’s!
Yea not every month he does that..
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the marketing genius of this man? He has single handedly cornered the lucrative French car genre on RUclips. Well played!
Shouldn't that be tres bon .
Gains or addiction???
@@glennnickerson8438 Gains. There's no addiction in a completely rational desire to have well engineered, comfortable and utterly reliable cars like the 403, the R5 or each'n any Citroën before 1980 (when the lack of Citroën in Citroëns started to show with the first "GTI" models of the CX ....)
@@manfredschmalbach9023 😆😆
As an unrepentant junk collector I am so jealous of you guys. You have the cars and the real estate to put them in. Congratulations gentlemen,
That french limo is destined to be the new CWM company vehicle. I envision Scott driving all the agents to town for occasional beer runs and post "safety meeting" pizza. So cool!
The CWM Mafia staff car 😂
@rogercamp6071 LOL...The Newstead crime family on wheels.🤣 Dean the enforcer!
I concur to all of the above comments, the CMW Crime Family Vehicle, a perfect CMW Mafia Staff car...brilliant monikers! It has to be Scott's new daily driver, something Sargent Schultz would drive Colonel Klink and Major Hochstetler around in!🤣🤣
I was going to comment that Coupe Deville was the star of the show, but then you showed us the Olds. The winner for sure. That globe in the steering wheel is mesmerizing. Looking forward to seeing it drive.
Oh my, that 53 Caddy and that 53 Olds! GM really did their homework when it came to styling during that period. I love it! Question: do either of the two cars have Buick Dynaflow in them? I read that in 1953 a lot of GM cars had to use the Dynaflow, owing to a fire in the Hydramatic plant cutting off supply for a while. That would be pretty neat if those two are like that. Finally, congrats for the Citroen! What an beautiful car.
I was involved in a purchase of several cars during college. Once was a 1955 Cadillac Fleetwood, and for fun the owner threw in a 1953 Coupe deVille for free, just like that one, but in green. Probably in somewhat worse condition. But it did have the Dynaflow due to the fire at the Hydramatic plant on August 12, 1953. Easy to tell, it had a different gear selector quadrant. What I read says 28000 Cadillacs and an indeterminant amount of Oldsmobiles ended up with the Dynaflow. Pontiacs used the Chevrolet PowerGlide.
Traction avants are super rare over here in Australia, the only real exposure to them ive ever had is watching old WW2 movies with my dad. Every time I see one I expect a gestapo officer to step out.
Congrats on getting that Traction. A car that (to Europeans at least) is just as iconic as the Model T. The T pioneered mass production, the Traction united mass production with monocoque chassis, front wheel drive, hydraulic brakes... basically with the characteristics of 80% of modern European cars... but in 1934.
@thomasalbrecht5914 Very, Very true!!
That Peugeot looks very close to the one Columbo drove...except I think his was a convertible.
Thought this was cool with the Peugeot but it kept on getting better with the Caddy and the Olds!
I just Love your Traction Avant. I believe it's a model 11 Familiale. It should be able to carry as many as 9 passengers. (Of course I liked the '49-'51 a bit more but this one was cleaner looking and I could see why you'd like it) During the 2nd World war, most Frenchmen didn't have the authorization cards to buy gas because all of the gasoline reserves were going to "Les Boches" but that didn't totally stop the French from driving their cars or trucks. In general, the bigger the car or truck the more it was used as a sort of a get-around bus for each community. I was informed by my relatives that big Citroëns like yours had "gasifiers" built onto the back bumper area. The cars would run on gas fumes derived from burning woodchip and their trunks would be filled with 4-5 burlap bags of wood chips. The cars would run for about 80 minutes on one bag of woodchips. I completely understand why Tom liked the car, it's just so nostalgic French.
GCFCE sure got some gems, love the sound of that Oliver with the short pipes. Going to have to call Androssan the French quarter with all the French cars now.
IT'S A Roller That in it's self is a win 👍👍👍👍👍😁
Intro vignettes are getting gooder and gooder! Would love a behind-the-scenes piece on how they are put together, and if Scott is doing them on his own, or, if not, who all is involved. Maybe on a future S.O.S. segment.
Second that. Love the car blasting through the intersection before the Caddy
Scott did a video a few months back where he showed how he does them
Traction Avant, that’s cool, Scott’s not only a Mopar guy, but he’s becoming quite the Francophile.
Another great episode , Scott. !
It’s starting to. resemble the parking lot of the French Embassy.
Looking forward to your next video.
All the best!
Need to put some toy soldiers or something behind the wheel....
I knew that Oliver would make it to someone's yard. See Dan at next year's antique tractor pull.
Yeah! I told him he has to come, too! Cheers...
One of my all time favorite European grills on that Traction. Nice buy.
Always bothered by the lack of Oldsmobiles on the show, but I’ve been redeemed.
Great memories there. ‘53 98 was my first car. Engine was junk so we dropped a 371 4 bbl from a wrecked ‘58 in it. Buddy worked in a boneyard. Laid nice burners when we were done. I was 15, parents never knew I had it, I kept it a a friends house. This was back in 1970 when a 17 year old car was considered very outdated. Few were on the streets
You did win the Renault Le Car Lottery! It fired right up!!
Damn, that ol Oliver, well Canadian Oliver, sounds good as hell. I've seen another one on RUclips here, that had the dual exhaust too, makes them have a unique sound. And Dan just went hog wild on that auction didn't he? He surely got some fine cars though, way to go Dan 🤘🤘🤙✌️
Oh my - that Oldsmobile!
Nice to see the 40's Chrysler getting a more prominent spot 😃.
Really enjoyed this one more for the personal dynamics of some of the agents- Scott doing a Robin Williams impersonation arguing more cars with himself; Dan - the GCFCE legend, (LOL)admitting he's lost control of his life(HAVEN'T WE ALL!??); Tom breaking character & liking the newest addition; & MOST important- Frankers appearing to hold a grudge over the haircut, ignoring dad multiple times!!
And for what its worth, I say that Oliver exhaust note is only #2 to Myles' Newport!!
Get the Traction going, & THAT is Laura's next review after the '37.
Cheers all - well bought all!!
Now where's the calendar order....
A glass top gas pump, some nice enamel signs, a stack of classic of tires and a CWM neon sign and the garage will look mint...
Would love to see a fury like restoration on the olds holiday special 98
Hi Scott another cracking video get miles to port the head on the little reno5 make it into a pocket rocket as we call them in the UK
That license plate on the car taking its last trip to the junkyard was pure genius
Love your introduction ❤
Thank you!!
The forklift parking spot is sweet! (unless the Tractor Gnome steals it)
GCFCE's 1953 Coupe de ville looks like a Mob Boss car, very cool.
My father (technically) owned three Renault cars when I was a youngster. He was involved in a major car accident that totaled his first one, which was green. Unfortunately, his second, which was blue, was rear ended, and the insurance company totaled it, too. However, his friend Ron, told him he had towed in a car of the same color and the front end was smashed. So, Ron talked dad into allowing him to cut the two cars in half and weld the good halves together to make a runner-and he did, and it worked. Dad drove it until the engine failed, but he got five or six more years of service out of it. Fun times we’re had during the early 1970s! Bonus-I ordered my calendar, so Springfield, Missouri, will have, at the least, one amazing calendar on a wall!
Hey thanks so much! Very kind of you ...Cheers from me and Frankers!
@0:32 - Kyle gets a point for telling us how the car feels going to the retirement yard via the license plate.
32:00 Never knew the old Cadillacs had hydraulic windows and seats. I learnt something today. Your videos are educational and entertaining.
I knew it. What I can't imagine is trying to rebuild it.
Not usually a fan of the French cars but you won me over with the limousine. I love the vintage look. YOU HAVE TO GET IT ON THE ROAD. Don't rebuild it, just spruce it up.
Those intros could be their own show!
Dartgirl... making this channel look WAY too good! ;) She is a keeper. Please.

Love the Caddy and Olds. Would love to see those back on the road!
Fun fact: The Oliver tractors were built in Battle Creek, MI, home of Kellogg's and Post.
“When you buy the parts car first, you know what project to look for”. Keats couldn’t have said it better. Hahaha! Much love from South Louisiana.
Congratulations and welcome to the world of the Tractioniste! She is lovely, a Familiale. The Commerciale was the world’s first hatchback.
The 403 was indeed styled by Pininfarina.
Finally, I’m absolutely in love with the Oliver tractor!
Thanks for an awesome episode.
That olds 98 can only be described with 1 word "class". You and a couple agents should definitely get over to the gcfce and do a revival. The 53 caddy isn't anything to sneeze at either. I'm not much into french/European cars but I have to admit your the only guy who keeps my attention to watch.
I'm in my '60s, and was introduced to Plasticville by my paternal grandparents at/around age 4. My grandfather was our city's "Chief Constable", and my grandmother, an M.D., and our county's 'polio and other infective disease specialist'. Both were quite politically active, and used an immense community layout to teach my cousins and myself how politics and American Society worked, and didn't. In 1965, President Lyndon Baines Johnson was caught going for "post-midnight vehicular hyjinx" in some 'piece-O'-Shyte' beater stored in a White House underground garage.
That week, my grandmother 'patented', and introduced the "Plasticville Package Store and Beer Mart". Two weeks later, she 'patented' the 'all-new, for 1965' Plasticville D.C.-A-Dero Burlesque Theater', after LBJ was rumored to have visited one on 13th Street. Soon after, all of the $1.00 bills disappeared from the play money 'stash' used to reinforce the economic lessons, fun one's, at-that!
I was learning to drive when the Watergate Scandal became known. Wilbur Mills and Fanny Fox went for a midnight skinny-dip in the Washington Monument's reflective pool/tidal basin. Plasticville's "Midnight Watersports Aquatic Center" never appeared, but I'll betcha she thought about making one!
Oh man. The Olds and the Caddy Dan got. I almost cried. I bet
That last car you bought is out of sight. I feel like Dean. Love it love it. You are a lucky man.
Excited to see a Caddy on the program at long last.
I think it would be great to place the Chrysler next to the Dodge.
I remember riding in my friends faded pink 403, in the 80's. The ride was fantastic, and the dash just a wonderful design, and the car overall (compared to the early eighties machinery filling the roads) was unique. She sadly reflected most of her friends did not like the car. Simply letting her know she had a beautiful car (in my opinion) made her feel so happy, and I lamented people criticizing it just because they could, and the effect it had on her. Good luck in your future restoration!
That’s the most awesome episode Scott and the agents. I’m going to watch it again tomorrow but in the meantime Frankers’ disparaging look! Dan’s auction wins - my god what glorious excess! But, but… I had so hoped that you’d loose control and splurg on that Citroën Long wheelbase Traction Avant Familiale. What a wonderful, very restorable “jam jar” with its roots way back in the 1930s and Europe’s darkest days.
A very special episode guys, thank you for making my week… again!
Hi Scott!! The new parking lot looks GREAT!!! A proper tidy!!
Franker's is looking splendid too!!!
Think how much faster NASCAR pit stops would be if they all ran 3 lug Pooges at the races!
Awesome scores by agent 7678!! That Caddy and that Olds are top notch 50s cars! I know it'd be a MASSIVE undertaking but those two NEED to be restored and put on the road again in this channel in the future.
@Lucas_Tulic Though, there's one HELLUVA case for just clean & mechanical refresh on the Olds!!! She'd be beautiful that way to!!
@@jamesthompson8008 Yeah, that one looks just a tidy up away from being road worthy.
0:31:00 typical Dean quote of the day: "i just LOVE this car"
A 'Ringtone' of catch phrases would be awesome."That's so cool","Wow",etc;. ;)
Dean loves everything and Tom hates everything lol.
Wow! The parking lot is looking fantastic! The place looks great this fall.
Without a doubt the Holiday 98 and Citroen Traction Avant are absolutely classic cars. Very nice indeed.
that traction avant is gorgeous!
Excellent video once again
Some of us were hoping Laura would test drive the Chevy
But maybe next time
If you got the Traction Avant fixed up reasonably well it would make a perfect wedding car and you could drive the couples from the church to the reception or their hotel in your livery uniform and cap.
Beard, hair, Frankers, and all. That would be a serious hoot.
Good stuff. It looks like the weather is wonderful up there compared to Texas.
Not to bad in East Texas as the highs are only in the mid 90s and the lows are in the upper 60s and low 70s. Perfect for morning coffee for some of us retired guys on my front porch in Waskom. As usual a darn good video from our Looney Automotive Canadian friends or LACs for short, eh.
Awesome auction action ....Treasures !!!!!
Bonus R5 is a Runner well done Scott
Thanks for the video .......
Always looking forward to seeing the next feature
Glad you enjoyed it, Darren!
I love how excited I get that you guys have such cool rusty relics. A Traction Limo. Beautiful
Some years back I had the pleasure of driving a Packard ambulance around a 5 acre yard of a car and truck museum north of me in Washington. It was a Hennessey bodied ambulance (1953 I believe) that had been formerly used by the US Navy. 3 speed on the column and throttle start just like my '56 Buick.
SCORE! Congrats to everyone and the accumulation of the bounty. As a Packard fan, it's a little painful to hear about the ambulance, but to quote a friend "you can't save them all" The 98 caught my eye while the Oliver drove around the yard....I'm impressed! Hope the R5 engine is dropped into the black car soon and you'll be motoring around. Last but not least....oh please.!...........!......! Give the Citroen a decent resto.
Thanks guys
Another great episode ,Scott !
It’s starting to look like a parking lot of a French embassy.
Looking forward to your next video.
All the best!
Scott, I am glad you scored that Citroen Traction limousine. I saw the video a while back where you took your first look at it. I will be watching when you get it running to be sure.
Frankers can really give a stink eye. Some very nice auction scores. It's always sad to see a collection broken up, but you gave some cars a home. If it can't be restored, it can be a donor so something else can live. The best form of recycling. Got my calendars ordered and looking forward to seeing them. Cheers!
Hi Heather! Glad you enjoyed seeing the latest finds... Thanks so much for ordering some calendars; very kind of you... Cheers from me and Frankers!
Wow, what an auction haul! Definitely want to see that '53 Oldsmobile first start up and that black French Limo, too! Y'all got your hands full over the next weeks. I saw on US Farm Report this morning, the AG Weather segment, it looks like the warm weather is going away and a colder air mass is headed your way in Alberta and eventually down to us. BOO HISS! So not ready. But you're right in Mother Nature's gunsights up in your North Woods region. We get a NW Cooler coming at us this Tuesday and beyond here in Colorado. Never ready to give up my Summer! Just ordered a calendar and also got my "T" Shirt at least a couple weeks or more ago, it's reposing in my hallowed collection of "Warbird Hats and TShirts". A beautiful rendering of your faithful T. Thank you, Scott! As always, looking forward to the next video installment of Motorhead Insanity...I feel right at home here! Cheers to all!😉👍👍
With the EOT broken off the badge, it now is an honest-to-God Pooj.
this Tom also massively appreciates that Traction Avant - I always wanted one... It's the coolest car you have. ...but aren't those sills structural?
Congrats to Scott and Dan, for their new diamonds in the rough. That black R5 is now almost a solid runner, thanks to this new donor R5. And another thumbs up for the opening sequence animation. That Packard straight 8 and manual transmission dropped into the 1953 Packard might make for one great winter beater. And you mainly Mopar guys are really cosmopolitan - Scott with 3 more French cars, and Dan with the 53 Caddy & 53 Olds. That 53 Olds against the green 50 Buick hardtop might make for a great showdown.
I'm getting sensory overload, and I like it! So much rusty goodness from both sides of the pond at CWM and GCFCE. I also enjoyed the "silent treatment" Ms. Francine gave Scott😊
Cheers!
P.S. I was hoping you bought the Avant.
She definitely had that going on 😂
I’m thinking she didn’t like the haircut
Wow, all kinds of new additions to the collections. Thanks so much for showing us.
"Let's imagine we were looking at this objectively..." is a sentence I don't believe I've heard in relation to French cars! Truthfully I couldn't have resisted the Familial as well and am glad we're getting to enjoy it vicariously online.
That first one was a 1963 Pininfarina 403. at least looking at the body I think I am close. Only 50 year old tires Scott on my 1952 M37 they are 71 years old and still holding air. Scott keep cars on the trailer and you won't be tempted to drag more home. I used to own a 1986 Renault Alliance it was a great little economy car with great gas Mileage. Amazing that R5 started so easily well it can go in your black car for sure. That 1953 Olds 98 of Dan's is an amazing car condition wise we had a 1950 Olds Rocket 88 that was the first car I worked on with my Dad when I was 8 yrs old I'm 72 now.
So happy you ended up with the Citroen Traction Avant, and the LWB one even! I have envy for that car and Dan’s two cars. That Olds and Cadillac are perfect!
Great score on that motor Scott 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻💯🇦🇺
LOVE the Traction Avant! Due to those being used in countless cheesy and not so cheesy war movies filmed in France in the 50's- I always see a scene with a bunch of SS officers pulling up to a cafe' in a 'borrowed' one... Congrats on the Renault- man, how cool was THAT to get! The two '53's, wow. Two batwing air cleaners.. and the bulbous 51-55 GM luxo boat styling... there's just SO many cool cars to mess with.. more than one lifetime's worth. Ordering my calendar soon. Have a great week, will be tuning in again on Thursday...
Totally dig those cars from the 50's. Love the lines of the cars of that era
These model sequences deserve their own reel! They're terrific!
I'm sure the Familiale will be a very comfortable one. And the Renault is basically the opposite side of the French car spectrum. Love both. The Ninety Eight is a beautiful sculpture
Honestly I'm kinda speechless.
Scott scores a Traction Avant, and the GCFCE gets TWO unbelievable GM cars from what might be the peak of their design over a 100 year period. I don't know what I would do personally. One of them has to be sold to pay for the restoration of the other, but which one?
PLEASE scott, give us a deep dive, up on the lift, inside and out, and if possible side by side comparison of the 2 cars.
How many times since about 1960, have these two models been parked next to each other? probably never.
I think they both deserve a level 2 tidy at a minimum.
Would love to see your Buick restored, (as you joked), especially as a companion to these cars and Jims Lincolns, but...
I truly believe there is a Chrysler 300 Letter Car out there, or maybe even a Facel Vega, that is destined to be yours.
You've proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, that if I handed you a MOPAR vin tag and a bag of rust, at some point you would drive an Exner masterpiece out of the Barn.
Never stop my friend.
And Thank You.
P
I love the intros . The set up of those cars, sounds & set. Kudos to your buddy ( I met him on your channel) A lot of work for sure.
Scott, Frankers' aloof behavior may not be due to her fresh haircut but may be attributed to the sudden 3 unit increase in the French car collection! She knows her root ethnicity when she sees it! Great episode! Dan may want to install flappers on those Oliver clone up pipes before the rains and snows fly! Love the Monster Citroen!! And you really get the golden horseshoe for the R-5 parts unit with Cherry Engine! You scored big time with 2 PARTS CARS AND A LIMO! If any doubts linger ask Tom! Mega cheers!
I was thinking the same (about the flappers), but then again, he could just cut a hole in a couple of tennis balls and stick them on for the winter.

Nice, i love the old Citroen, tho looks more 30,s than 50,s!..cool other scores too.
Through the years, I've thought to myself several times. A Citroen Traction would be the perfect European car for Scott. Love that you got the familial as well, the perfect amount of quirky. The Caddy and the Olds are just to die for. A lot of cool new projects to look forward to.
Hi Scott, I love the '50 Ford vs '58 Studerbaker race. I especially love your sister driving the Studebaker and winning. I hope you do the work on the Peugeot 403. I'm happy that everyone is well and safe. You and Dave work on the '53 Olds 98, to get it running and take a ride in her. I'll purchase the calendar as soon I finish this email. My best wishes to everybody. Cheers!
Hey thanks so much! Very kind of you to help keep us going...Cheers!
Yes, Dan may have lost control of his life, but he has done so in the most glorious and envy inducing way possible!
Agreed!
Fantastic auction scores. That Olds will be running in an hour. Congrats on the Citroën score, what a delightfully oddball machine. Stay dirty 👍
Thank you, amazing episode after the sporting endeavours of previous release. Stocking up on projects for Winter, those leaves turning fast. The yard extension looks awesome.
Maybe as a spur-of-the-moment thought, how about saving some calendars for special order only with with your autograph and possibly a dedication at a special price, for extra support?
And of course, the thank you although on the surface modest, comprises all the thanks in the world for providing the videos to fellow patina enthusiasts around the world. Cheers,

Fantastic opening sequence! Frankers looks gorgeous! Love all the auction buys. I hope that you realize how incredibly rare this Citroën is Scott. Good luck with all your projects. Maybe Frankers will have a better attitude when you chauffeur her around on the back seat of the limo. LOL.
Ha! Yeah, I already think of it as Frankers' Limo, haha... Cheers!
Love the new parking lot

Wow-you guys find some awesome cars! Poor Frankers-she was unhappy after her haircut-tell her she looks beautiful! Cheers!
Fantastic video, so many great cars. The Traction is an iconic car in France, built from 1934 thru 1957. First mass produced front wheel drive car and it also had uni-body construction, hydraulic brakes and independent suspension. It's a fairly low car with a low center of gravity thanks to the combination of the front wheel drive and uni-body construction, so it handled great for a car of that period. It was designed by Flaminio Bertoni who also designed the DS.
The Olds and Caddy are beauties.
The Peugeot 403 was sold from 1955 thru 1966, so it came on the scene as the Traction bowed out. The R5 only arrived in 1972 and was discontinued in 1984. So French cars stretching from 1934 thru 1984.
Absolutely love the big Citroen… not sure why but would like one myself.
Think it’s the James Cobirn scene in The Great Escape…..
Wow you got some awesome cars. Can't wait to see these getting worked on. As always thank you for the entertainment
35:33 I'm with you on this 53 Olds, that is so much cool in one package.😎 What is the colored light cluster on the back?
It looks like a novelty accessory from the fifties. Red, green, and yellow lights for stop, go, and caution. Wired to the tail lights, accelerator and brake lights? Sort of an early high mounted brake light "safety lights"?
That looks like a traffic signal cluster. I think they were supposed to be a way of indicating to anyone behind whether the driver was about to brake, or if there was going to be a heavy brake application. They sometimes come up on eBay.
Excellent auction purchases. Your French cars are so understated and appealing and the equal of the others but in a completely different way. The R5 being a runner is fab and I have high hopes for the 403. Of course, the Oldsmobile 98 is a dream. The planet in the steering wheel! Can you imagine what it would have looked like under the lights in the showroom? It would be so nice to look at cars nowadays and dream, instead of wondering how far they go on a full battery charge.
Wow! I'm tripping out on the whole line of auction scores! Everyone stepped in the piles, and it won't scrape off now. But if you're going to step in piles, those are the piles to step in. You know you are keeping my addiction intact...🤣
Spectacular opening sequence!!!
Love the parking spot for the front end loader--looks like it's ready to jump out of the woods! Year's ago we had a vintage junkyard run by quite the character. My first trip to his yard I happened to look where he stored his loader. What got me was what he used for a wheel chock--a dead porcupine! 😆
Dan gets the wild man award for sure 😅❤
