How to bleed Tektro Auriga M290 brakes.

Like others have said, the best bleeding tutorial out there and applies to almost any brand of disc brake.
The only thing I recommend is getting the Tektro/TRP funnel that you use at the lever. You use this instead of the bag/receptacle. It's also a good first step to see if you really need to do a full bleed. Install the funnel with a small amount of mineral oil, give the brake lever a few flicks until you stop seeing air bubbles and then remove and test the brakes. A lot of times, this will be enough to remove the air from your system.

Gie Valenzuela it is recommended to change brake fluid once 2-3 years but i saw 10 year old hydraulic brakes without the oil changed and working perfectly so replace the oil only if needed

Arvydas Mazetis, считаю эти тормоза довольно надёжными. После покупки рекомендую сразу прокачать заново, заводское масло у меня было как то криво закачано. Зимой ниже -20 нучше не кататься, дубеют. а с температурой выше работают на ура. Тормозами доволен. По городу кататься самое то. Рекомендую.

Желательно место на тормозе откуда выкручивается винт тряпкой обмотать. Либо прокачивать со снятыми колёсами и вынутыми колодками. На трубку вывода старой жидкости приклеил обычный фасовочный пакет на скотч. Few things here ,them not using or supplying a proper clamp in the kit is pretty terrible .And pinched off it still drains some fluid .Any system that has an open port that's not shut off isn't good .

ich habe ein Entlüftungskit für mein Tektro Hydraulikbremse gekauft und leider hat es die Verbindungsstück an der Handbremse nicht.
Die Dichtungsschtaube hat ein außen Durchmesser 2,1 mm aber alle Verbindungsstücke im Kit haben dickere Außen Durchmesser.
Was mache ich hier falsch?

TektroUSA, since your contact form is not working properly, I'll ask my question here. I am an owner of the Tektro Novela brakes on my mountain bike and I have encountered a problem. When I tried to clean and change the grease in the front brake, I dissembled the thing and I imeediately noticed that one small bearing was missing. I'm pretty sure that I hadn't lost it and it hadn't fallen out because the two out of three bearings were stuck in the grease. So, my question is what are the specifications of these bearings (diameter, material, etc), so that I could buy one. Thank you! I am looking forward to your reply.

2. If the bleed port should be highest point, why the guy is pushing the front fork down on 0:35? Which one is the bleed point, the front or the back of the bike?

He is bleeding from the top and filling from the bottom. The 2nd thing he attached with the nipple and bottle is the bleed port. He kept the bleed port the high point.

Why do you make these brakes in such way that you need proprietary bleed kit? Why not do them like shimano where you can use bleeding technique from automotive industry?

Can anyone tell me.are the bleed blocks the same size as the pads.i have a bleed kit but no bleed blocks. And have bled the brake system as shown but the lever is still loose (sponge'y) and can't get enough pressure on my brakes.

andrew rhodes if the lever is spongey it sounds like there might still be air, but I get what you're saying about the blocks. I think they're meant to hold the pistons all the way open but you could probably do it without them. I might get myself a some blocks just in case actually. But yea in general it sounds like it's hard to bleed brakes properly, I see a lot of comments of people having issues on multiple videos

He didn't put the braking pads back just after removing them. He's using some kind of blockade. You need to block the brake in order to get rid of air from the system. Having braking pads inside while doing that can cause that some portion of the oil will get on the braking pads which is not good.

Yes its basically the same thing. I just got a tektro bleed kit today and did a bleed. Brakes are now supreme. I originally got a shimano kit and the fluid that came with both a the same pink mineral oil viscocity and mixture.

Hi I have Tektro Draco Disc hydraulic disc brakes on my bike and my rear brake is very loose and when I push the lever continuously for few times, the brake gets tightened and the brake force is higher. But when I leave the brake lever, it again goes to the Slack position and I have to repeat the process again.
Is there any screw that I need to tighten to get a strong braking or should I need to bleed with Mineral oil?

You have to use mineral oil. You dont neccesarily have to use tektro mineral oil, you can use shimano or any other, just make sure its MINERAL oil.

The kits include the tektro mineral oil for around $12 off of amazon. Mineral oil comes in many different viscoties, with and without additives. Tektro charges a reasonable price, so I do buy the Tektro oil. Of course it's your bike, so set it up the way you want. (Note: my experience with vegetable oils is they break down easily and leave a sticky deposit, so stay away from the cooking oil.)
