As a fairly experienced hunter who's played this game off and on for 16 years, I apparently can still learn something. Teach a boar dash? Mind blown. Charge, dash, charge, dash. Un-freaking-stoppable. I would have NEVER considered teaching this skill to my boar. A couple of side notes, why not mention gorillas? I love whipping out the gorilla for AoEing mobs that are green to me when I go back to catch up on certain quests. Makes me feel like a mage all over again. Also, thank you for mentioning Humar. I feel like he doesn't get enough love. Everyone goes after Echeyakee (Spelling?) but nobody ever considers the black version, Humar the Pridelord. Pets I look forward to experimenting with... Carrion birds and wind serpents. Thank you so much for this video.
I think it's also just trying not to make the video too long. Same van be said about scorpids. They're quite popular especially on pvp servers while questing
Bats are my favorite leveling beast - dive ( speed to get there), decent attack speed, bite (far better for sustained aggro), screech ( aoe aggro)...and the combo balances perfectly to line up casting constantly.
I have to agree. I got an owl and have only just got screech and it’s good but because I’m lazy I just use auto spells. The owl basically dumps all its focus on screech over and over again. I would have to presume with bite it would use it on cd. Bat for horde would be way better
Nothing beats the Rake, easiest to get, you can get him at like level 12, 1.2 attack speed, come TBC that will be removed, so wasting anywhere from 1-50 hours searching for Brokentooth is NOT worth it. The 0.2 attack speed difference will be too little of a gain to make it worth it imo. The Rake has a way cooler model too. Not only great for leveling but I've used him in every raid and I'm 14/15 Naxx, we basically have KT in the bag too.
I like the rake a lot, I went and tamed him at 10 on my most recent hunter. It's really nice to not deal with pet level and loyalty level while leveling.
@@canozoronbite at max rank is the most annoying to get as its in LBRS, but in TBC likely won't matter. Bite, growl for pve, bite and claw for pvp is usually how i rock it
Thanks for the info helped a lot as I am late to the party for classic, one question I'm lvl 28 and was using the owl which had growl I did what you advised and got the boar from Lakeshire at lvl 24 and has rake 3 of charge. Yet I can't teach him growl. How do I get him to learn that spell?
Glad to have you playing the most of amazing of classes. Are you sure it was growl? If you go into your pet training, any pet should be able to learn growl as long as its the right rank. If it was screech, the boar can't learn that one.
How do I unlock Dash? I am lvl 32 and I have tamed the tigers that are supposed to have it (Stranglethorn Tiger) and they only know "cower" please help :(
are you sure the rake can learn bite? i tamed a prairie wolf alpha for bite rank 2, then the rake, found out rake couldnt do it, thought i mistakenly tamed the wrong wolf, tamed another prairie wolf alpha, ensured he had bite rank2, stabled him, and my rake still cannot learn bite rank2. petopia excludes cats from the list of pets that can use bite.
Make sure you're petopia classic. It definitely shows cats can learn bite and claw. You might not have enough training points or he could be too low of level for the rank of bite you're trying to teach him.
@@Bigbobbedboi thats odd then. because rake comes at lvl 10, bite 2 says pet lvl 8. ive also just been having weirdness all around. i went to durotar to get a scorpid for rank2 claw, and the first scorpid i tames (lvl 10) had no abilities at all. second one i tamed had scorpid poison and claw2. do i need to re-tame the rake? but idk. bite rank2 isnt even showing up in my list of things i can teach my rake. petopia classic also says it takes 4 tp, i have 10.. all i have access to is growl, armor, and stamina. after i tamed the scorpid, even fucking scorpid poison showed up in my beast training list. but bite and claw still isnt there
One time all my pets training points just.. disappeared. I had to restart wow before it was fixed so weird stuff does happen. If bite rank 2 doesn't show up in your abilities you can teach him, then that means YOU didn't learn bite when you tamed the prairie wolf alpha. TBC Classic remake is not what it should be [such as pet talent trees, etc.]. Take Carrion birds, at least the ones from Westfall, had the ability Swoop. This is no longer in 'TBCC' which is ridiculous to me because NOONE ever used them and they were actually amazing, especially in PvP. Swoop was like Charge for the Boars, 1 sec of CC and increase damage of next attack. However, Swoop was not an Immobilize, Swoop Knocked Down the target; effectively acting as another source interrupt instead of just a root mechanic. Does anyone else remember things from BC that are not in TBCC? Such as the pet talent trees, abilities being different, etc.? Or am I just going insane?
Charge is on a 25 second cool down, so you can't send the boar to another mob while you're killing one. I mean you can, but they won't charge. Broken tooth was fixed way before classic released. ALL cats have the same attack speed now.
I don’t know about broken tooth , i have him and he seems to attack a 1.0 speed, so you are telling us the other cats are as fast? I know that there will be a patch to « fix » pet speeds but i thought it was further Down the line.
You're wrong. Pets of the same family CAN have different attack speeds, but their DPS is normalized. A 1.0 speed cat will not hit as hard as a 2.0 speed cat, but the faster attacks couple with crit chance gives them higher DPS. On the Boar topic, he said send the boar to 1 target with Dash and then send it to another target with Charge. Don't leave Charge or Dash on auto cast and you can use them manually.
you are right about the boar but not about the attack speed. I think I would go with a boar until a certain level. They start falling off really quickly imo after level 30 so by this time I would pick a carrion bird.
As a fairly experienced hunter who's played this game off and on for 16 years, I apparently can still learn something. Teach a boar dash? Mind blown. Charge, dash, charge, dash. Un-freaking-stoppable. I would have NEVER considered teaching this skill to my boar.

A fast cat too is the savannah ones some habe 1.2
The fastest Savannah cat is 1.3; it will not be faster than the rake.
I thought they fixed the caster pets so there's close to no difference in stats?
