I watch your reaction everyday. It's so happened I put on my Heart Magic Man t shirt today and was excited to see you reacting to that song. Heart is timeless. I love watching Nancy jump around the stage. She is my fave!
The Guitarist Nancy is the lead singer on the song These Dreams it is from the 80's so get ready for some Hairspray!!! It is a great song in my opinion
Heart hit the scene when I was in high school back in the 1970's and have been rocking ever since. They also took the entire band "Alice in Chains" under their wing (they are from the same town) and helped guide them thru the quagmire of working with record labels, promoters, groupies, and hangers-on. Nancy Wilson has always been an amazing guitarist, and Ann Wilson's voice just gets better and better as she gets older. I could listen to her sing all day long.
@@michaelkennedy5126 they didn't hate each other; maybe in the 90's but I don't think that's true either they are sisters they get into disagreements .
This was Heart's first hit single, reaching #9 back in 1976. This performance looks like it's from the 2000s (Frontwoman Ann was born in 1950 and guitarist Nancy in 1954.) I believe this song has some autobiographical components for Ann, as it may refer to the band's manager at the time who was also her boyfriend.
This is the perfect Heart….Must songs from this concert Alone/These Dreams - it’s acoustic and you hear both sisters “blow” Straight On - Rock at its greatest
This was their very first song and the minute I heard this song I was hooked... I was a young teen when Heart became my favorite band. I had every album and wore them out! I saw them in concert sometime during the late 70's. They are phenomenal! Ann and Nancy Wilson. Sisters with such talent!
This is the story of when the sisters left Seattle in the late 70’s to go to Canada and join this band. She fell in love with one of the guys and the rest is history. There’s a VH-1 Behind the Music episode about it.
If a groom grooms, and the bride fumes is the marriage doomed? Dad humor! "Crazy on You" was also a monster hit as was "Barracuda." Nancy's guitar intro in "Crazy.." is fantastic. Cute story, Eddie Van Halen (VH is my fav.) told Nancy (while hitting on her) that he didn't own an acoustic guitar....Nancy gave him one of hers and in an altered state, King Edward wrote and played a song dedicated to Nancy before passing out presumably from the previous night's libations. More VH and Heart, please.
Best performance ever was their performance of MISTRAL WIND at The Texxas Jam in the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, TX back in the 70's! It had started to rain and as the song's tempo increased, the rain increased... as the song slowed down, so did the rain! It was crazy and pretty awesome!!&!
This is one of the greatest songs of all-time. It's unique in more ways than you count and the vocals are unmatched. It's simply a great tune. No other way to put it.
Sisters Ann Wilson (lead singer) and Nancy Wilson (rhythm guitar) have been around for years I think this song hit in about 1975 off the LP Dreamboat Annie
I hope you react to a Heart performance from the mid-70's. You should see them when they were young. You've seen them after doing these songs for decades, but there's a coolness they had way back then that you got to check out.
"Does the 'blond lady' sing" Yes. I mentioned before, and it's in the comments below, try "These Dreams". Either the original video or from the live performance in( I think) '13 from ( I think) Olympia. Nancy has an awesome voice and is a stellar guitarist. She was simply overshadowed, as anyone would be, by Anne's incredible vocals. And I have mentioned before, you should check out Fanny. Any of the Beat Club videos. You will be blown away by what R&R women were doing in the '60s - '70s.
My husband and I were lucky enough to get to go to a live concert of theirs a few years ago... I'm happy to say that Heart is from here where I live in the Pacific Northwest (the group's name was originally Seafood Mama), and I didn't realize - until my BF from over in the UK and her husband pointed it out - that apparently, the lead singer Ann and I look like alike.😅 ....I LOVE the fact that fans/followers of Heart, are called... Heart Mongers!
As some others mentioned look for Hearts 1970's version of this song. There's a number of live versions up here on RUclips from that era..Also from this same concert Live in Seattle is another beautiful song titled "Dog and Butterfly"
Heart is one of the best bands of the 70s and 80s. I think they are still performing. Other great songs of Heart are "These Dreams" (which is one of the few songs that Ann's sister Nancy sings lead on). She has a beautiful voice. "What about Love", "Never", "Alone", and" Dog and the Butterfly."
Great reaction, Britt! Keep on with the Heart reactions. Anything from this Alive In Seattle is gold. Highlights for me are Alone, Barracuda, Straight On, Dog & Butterfly, Heaven, Wild Child, Battle Of Evermore, Mistral Wind, Crazy On You and These Dreams. Looking forward to these and more!
The song is semi-autobiocraphical. The "magic man" she's singing about is actually the band manager who was also her boyfriend at the time she wrote the lyrics and is about the beginning of their relationship
Nancy is married to director Cameron Crowe, and she helped with the soundtrack for his movie, “Almost Famous” which tells the story of how Cameron, as a teenager, toured and wrote stories for Rolling Stone magazine!
Your comments about Ann are spot on, look into the Seattle grunge seen icons, supposedly she took care of them, partied with them, let them crash there, what ever. Advice given to them? Not that needed it but she is rock a rock goddess and those kids ruled the 90s
Nancy Wilson, one of my biggest crushes growing up and her sister can sing like no other. Another great female rock singer is a band called evanescence. You should check them out I think you’ll be amazed. Love the channel and have a great day.
From the last show of their Summer of Love 2002 tour, at home in Seattle. The whole show is killer, they cover Led Zeppelin’s Black Dog. Along with Ann and Nancy Wilson, that’s longtime drummer Ben Smith, with Mike Inez and Scott Olson from Alice In Chains on bass and leas guitar.
Welcome aboard, young lady! Anne and Nancy Wilson are sisters , and yes, they are seasoned performers who have been around since the late 70's. Heart is still performing these days, and they still rock the house.
Nancy deserves more recognition for her vocals. Please do a reaction to These Dreams, live in Seattle / this same concert. To hear Nancy take lead on vocals.
@@brittreacts You asked about Nancy singing? Well, she sings lead on These Dreams, which, hard to believe, was their first number 1 hit. I'd like to say, I recently stumbled on to your channel and I'm impressed. You are so pretty and classy. You are very intelligent and I love your insights on your reactions. And also, you sing so beautifully. I'm new so I don't know, but do you sing professionally or have videos of you singing? Would love to hear you sing some of these songs.
Ann and Nancy Wilson known as the Wilson sisters were never no joke I believe Ann had a4 octiv voice first time seeing them where in the 70's. Sade also sang barefoot 😊
They gave Ann such a hard time about her weight for years. They would even film videos with certain cameras to make her look thinner. Probably the greatest female rock singer ever if not top 3
Love your reactions, but you do have a pattern of doing the more recent versions of 70s bands when they are much older. Nothing wrong with that if you do it after the original ones when they were in their prime. You can then do the more recent version to see how well they have held up over time. Sure, have someone check the older ones first to make sure the audio quality is acceptable, but there are many older versions that are very good or good enough audio, and the performance itself is more true to the original time. Most often the performances with the higher views are the better ones. These will result in higher views for you.
Britt has now convinced me that she is not a music reactor, but just a video reactor. So I'm not really interested in her music reactions if she is not going to seek out the best early versions of these artists songs.
Britt, yes, you are learning. Get "your daughter" the lava lamp. Just like the guy at the store today that bought Fla-Vor-Ice freezer pops...for "his daughter." 😉
Another great reaction of a great band by a great reactor. I really hope you check out some of their lighter stuff like Dog and Butterfly and a couple others would be Under the Sky and Red Velvet Car. As for Nancy singing lead check out These Dreams, Treat Me Well, Strangers of the Heart, and Stranded.
Thanks for all the Heart reactions! I've loved them since the mid 70's!! Try their Battle of Evermore (Led Zep cover) for brilliant harmonies and Nancy's rock Mandolin! :D Then try their Dog and Butterfly for a slower but magical song! You'll love them both!!
They are extremely "well seasoned"!! The girls are superior Rocker Chicks!! You should react to their tribute to Led Zeppelin when they sing "Stairway To Heaven"!! Total MASTERPIECE!!!!🎵🎼🎶🎤🎸🎙🥁🎹🔥🤘
So, this is an incredible performance... but she hits stronger in the original recordings, when she was younger. Don't get me wrong, Ann Wilson is a POWERHOUSE still! But she was more so before.
They sang this in the seventies this is them live a couple years ago. There's still good but there's a difference in those high notes a little bit you need to do the original.
Ann is gorgeous, just drop-dead stunning, but she got such crap in later years when she picked up some weight. They decided to spotlight Nancy in a lot of their later videos because they wanted to downplay Ann’s weight. They had her always in black and focused on that beautiful face when they went to her in videos, it got to be a true bone of contention at one point among Ann and Nancy and the guys in the band. They finally went to Nancy and asked her, “Why doesn’t she just lose the damn weight?”, to which Nancy replied, “I don’t know! Why don’t you ask HER?” It was a really hurtful time, but she came out of it like the goddess she is. She didn’t let the pressure get to her. Ann is my favorite female rock vocalist. She has said she was more influenced by the male vocalists, particularly Robert Plant and Lou Gramm, when she started out. It shows!
This concert was recorded in their hometown and was intentionally staged to seem like a living room. It was at a smaller. Bare feet and jeans.... I believe John Paul Jones (Led Zep) produced and participated in it

I agree, though I do like her phrasing here
The Guitarist Nancy is the lead singer on the song These Dreams it is from the 80's so get ready for some Hairspray!!! It is a great song in my opinion
She’s still a wonderful performer, but you should listen to this song from an earlier performance. Her voice was downright haunting.
Oh, so true.
When the guitars weren't so overpowering, more true to the studio version and she did that little girl voice on Mamma, he's a Magic Man!
Heart hit the scene when I was in high school back in the 1970's and have been rocking ever since.
