Not to mention seemingly any time a book beheading is preceded by an edge check. One thing I preferred in the show was a proper strike by Robb on Karstark, rather than A ludicrously botched job with a freaking polearm (I cannot remember if it was a halberd or pollaxe off the top of my head).

0:46 It's been established (in the books, anyway) that Ice was sharp and _heavy_ enough to cut through a person's neck in a single blow. The thing wasn't a greatsword for nothing. Although it _is_ a bit unrealistic that Jon managed to pull off the same feat later with Longclaw, which was a bastard sword made for combat and therefore a deal lighter than Ice.
