Before i started RNC in 2001 i had 3 pairs of profiles with 19mm spindles. That's the only cranks i rode. They were the standard for quality for a long time. That being said your 210 lbs and are way to heavy to be on a 19mm spindle let alone a titanium one. As far as the legend cranks go the whole concept was to create the ultimate cranks with price not being a factor. They are made from maraging steel the strongest steel on the planet and the cost is 8x more expensive than titanium. You literally can buy a set of profile cranks for what my material costs are on the legends. My only complaint about your video is that you haven't even used the product and your bashing it just because of the price. It does a huge disservice to companies like mine who are actually trying to innovate and make better products for BMX. Also how does a crank that was released to the market 2 months ago make the worst crank of all time list?

I’ve heard nothing but great things for the record, sir! Anyone else, check out Brand Moore’s page he runs a lot of RNC products and has loved them. Also hell yeah, the idea of the top of the food chain in bmx cranks is a dope ass spot to hold. I’ll try and snag a guard sprocket of yours here soon enough they look amaaaazing. I suggest people check out RNC’s website because they have more than just cranks, their titanium sprockets look sooo fire. And titanium stems. Imagine a bike decked out with all 3 in titanium, guard sprocket, cranks, stem. That bitch would stand out so much.

I’ve been riding since the late 1970’s, and I’ve had many different cranks over the years. Never had any problems with Profiles, Redline Flights 401 single or dual pinch bolts, or Haro Lineage Fusions. I was very surprised to see that you called out Profiles as being poor quality since my experience with them is the opposite. I bought a set of the RNC 2 piece Ti cranks, and Ryan’s machine work is beautiful, but his customer service is regrettably awful. Hopefully he can improve his business acumen and develop his customer service skills. The RNC cranks flex A-LOT. I didn’t break them, but I also only rode them for about 3 months. I wasn’t comfortable with the flex I was feeling in my crank set. Switched to Profile column splines with Ti spindle and had zero issues. I must respectfully disagree with you on the Profiles based on my own experiences with them as I have owned 6 or 7 sets in my lifetime and never had any issues. I typically change out my parts before they fail as all metal will fatigue and may fail with enough stress placed on it over time.
One piece bends, but they were very cheap to buy in the 80’s at around $20 back then, and that made them the go to crank for many riders. I’d’ like to see a long term review of the RNC $1,000 set along with the abuse they were getting as a way to measure the value (good or bad) of them. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences with the products.

Idk what happened with profiles. I rode profiles in the late 90s and 2000s. I never broke them. I'm 6' 1" was around 250lbs when I started riding and have been around 200lbs-210lbs since then. I'd only ever bent them on falls before 2007. I also never really rode pegs and did a lot of pedal grinds and crank arm slides. Eventually started riding primo and fly and cult chase hawk cranks thennnn Recently I bought profiles again and they cracked in less than a year. If anyone wants cranks that feel like profiles but are wayyyy more solid, I'd highly recommend demolition revolts.

1 piece cranks also came on some of the most expensive BMX bikes in the 80's. And they were generally stronger than 3 piece cranks. This very video proves it. 3 piece cranks failed often, from different brands (Profile, Hutch, etc).

For reference 10 months later.... titanium cost about 50USD per Kilo/2.2 pounds.

Compare those cranks to small parts in the auto industry/hospital machines/etc. BMX is doing their best to make the market valuable and you're crushing it. I know your heart's in the right place but this is just going to hurt the market especially a market that is in bad shape ATM.

Profile Warranty system sux. at least in my XP . been thru multiple pairs of the PROs . Not even being friends with Matt C, helped me. Def a Teir level company. Entry level sux. but as you go up, gets better. Havent snapped or stripped a set of Columns yet. but as for the Pros, better off with the 8 spline mission cranks for 59.99 lol

Are they RNC legend cranks made of titanium like the video States or are they made of miraging steel?? I'm a little confused.

Mafiabikes cranks should be #1 on this list. They’re 45$ total with shipping I believe so I gave them a chance cause I had a mafiabike kush 2 I been practicing building bikes on and wanted to learn a 3 piece install. I did it coached by someone in person stood right next to me as I put it together who’s experienced. He noticed like 2 things I had wrong already when he walked up and helped me out but once I got them on the right way and it was all ready it looked so nice I was so excited and then I get on the bike and it rides fine while I’m sitting on the seat and then I stand up to pedal and CRACK slips a spindle groove and a couple seconds later CRACK again on the other side slips a spindle groove. Shit is breaking my heart I busted my ass to figure out that install took me days to get it right 😂 why lol?
It doesn’t click backwards when I’m standing pedaling hard so I’m gonna turn around the spindle and try connecting the arms on the other sides maybe they won’t slide through a spindle groove now that it’s the same direction as the backwards pedal but for forward. But who knows.

Yeah I'm probo showing my age but back in the early 2000s if you rode only rode dirt jumps and a bit posh so could afford them you'd probo have profile's but they where dead easy to dent if you rode street so most riders had primo's and my frist pair of 3pc cranks where the demolition chromo one's that had a skull and spine engraved on them that looked totally badarse and they lasted years until cracks started appearing around the left pedal and I replaced them the odyssey twombolts which have stood the test of time! Plus back in 2006 ish my friend scot got the RNC cranks with a titanium axle which where a bit like OG primo powerbites but the arms where made of harder 7000 series aluminum and he managed to completely snapped off the right pedal bosset within 3 mouths of getting them but because they had a lifetime warranty he got a free replacement and the 2nd set broke again in same place but in half the time! Which is sod's law kidda Ha ha

I miss them days , it’s funny seeing people to this day still riding the smaller sprockets 😂 they m 35 so it’s just a trip to see how things have changed , it didn’t matter to much back in the day as long as you had triple wall rims , 3 piece cranks , your good and I remember when street riders used to always ride street tire up front and dirt in the back

I think people need to understand that you don't buy titanium parts for street or any freestyle bmx. You would use them for racing where weight and being smooth is everything. You can use them in freestyle, but they just won't hold up to abuse like chromoly.
