All countries need to make the rich people pay their fair share since they say no to the poor this is so sickening that billionaires only care about billions and billions and billions and they'll never be able to spend anyway the top 1% needs to go and needs to get spread out more evenly and this doesn't mean all one percenters are bad but most are in this regard they tell you pull yourself up for the OWN bootstraps but they actually know a lot of jobs are going out because of AI and people don't have money to spend those shops and stores and everything else is closing same things happening in the United States look at San Francisco Look at California look at Texas look at Chicago and they all have people that are in the top 1% that could be helping a

I escaped poverty as an adult but as a naturally gifted child who outperformed kids academically, athletically, and musically… I saw kids with half the brains and half the talent get ahead because they had the money and the rides I didn’t have. I was even kicked off the sports teams as CAPTAIN for excessive absences due to homelessness and lost all scholarship opportunities. I’ll never forgive my school. I was literally punished for my poverty.
Sounds like you could be an amazing ambassador to speak up for those innocent voices and confront them so perhaps there is a change. You are not obliged to do that, sounds like you already went through a lot but I feel since you escaped, perhaps you find the capacities to share that story in places where they might consider that for a change. I feel we often times need to be the change we needed ourselves (I also do that, I just have no correlation with having been poor; I speak up for the topics that matter to me).
@@happylittlevibe I’m definitely passionate about education reform and I will use my voice one day. For now I’m focusing on my passions… but later in life I will definitely do something about it so more children can be saved

Sounds like my high school. I excelled in drama, the arts and music but all the opportunities went to the kids who wanted to play sport or whose parents donated the most money to the school. I loved performing, I loved english but when I watched the kids who were congratulated for just turning up to class by being given a free ride I gave up. Went to university as where I live, you don't need university entrance to get in once you're 20 and now have a double degree with honours with no help from my high school whatsoever. Except for Mrs Williams - my English teacher. She pushed me to be the best I could be
Kids shouldn't have to worry about their parent's financial issues. I didn't even know what bills or rent was until I was until I was like 13/14. It is just terrible that these innocent children have to live like this 😭😭
it's not all terrible. I was underemployed and in a lot of debt from student loans when my sons were small. They didn't have to worry about necessities like the poor children of this video but there were a lot of times they couldn't get what they wanted because we didn't have any extra money. Now as young adults they have more reasonable expectations about what life will be like when they have to become independent. They know that for most people life isn't having everything all the time, it is about choosing. And I hope they are better prepared to choose wisely as a result of those early experiences. And, as a bonus, the fact that all the vacation I could afford was camping at the state park has left them with a love of nature.

I see these poor kids much happier than 99% of other kids and are more stable normal kids. . Money brought the rest just misery and all kind of social, emotional, and psychological problems. We had enough of modernity that turns human into slave to the rich people.

The Saddest Part is the Poverty begets poverty. Most of these kids will live in poverty as adults because it's so difficult to escape it.
The safest part is that it exists.
Yup unless they find someone that accepts them into their family there are ways to escape it’s just not gonna happen for everyone unfortunately.
Discipline and education helps, a lot!
It is imperative that children focus on their education and going to the closest library. They offer after school story times and opportunities for kids to distract them from their current stressors.
It can be difficult to escape it but if you make good choices, it can be done. The best thing they can do is finish their education, make that the number one focus. Get a part-time job as soon as they're old enough, bank away as much money as they can and don't start having kids until they're settled in a good career and making some decent money.
Watching that little boy crying is heartbreaking. I’ve worked with lots of kids in poverty, and it’s so sad. They don’t get the sleep, nutrition and often support they need to function well throughout the day at school, to learn. 😢
Their parents is at fault. Not the rest of us. Stop making children you can't provide for and expect everyone else to pick up the slack. How is it anyone's problem if you can't feed them? It's the failure of the parents. I feel sorry for the kids but, ain't my problem. It's selfish of society to expect others who are doing better to help the irresponsible.
@@wsrtwetrso many people globally are one pay check away from being poor and homeless . Does not matter whether you did all the right things like get an education and great job- if the cost of living keeps going up except people’s pay check then it is a problem for ALL, except the wealthy of course. Majority of people don’t have savings to help in case of emergency. I’m a family of four with great income and we even have cut back on things. We worry about not being able to take multiple vacations this year- we were only able to go on one. Regardless it is having sympathy for those less fortunate. The system is set up for poor to remain poor. How many businesses have closed down?? How many people got higher wages?. The father in this case seems very capable of getting a job, to me, he seems lazy. Other than that it is 2023- and even the best of us in the upper and middle class can see the change. Not everyone is well off like you. 😔

This is why I'm so scared of unexpected pregnancies and having children when I'm not truly ready. I know life just happens to people and at times you can't control what happens to you, but seeing these children living in such conditions is so heart-breaking.
u can definitely control a pregnancy.
Age doesn’t matter. If you’re smart you’ll do well regardless. You can tell by how the boy talks incoherently about the airplane that the family isn’t smart. My toddler can talk better and knows more about her surroundings.
I'm glad you're thinking about stuff like this, even though its sad. Many people choose to have lots of kids even when they can't afford to or can't mentally take care of them

You give your children a huge advantage by planning them and having them at an older age (but not too much older). I love my three children, and I’m so grateful that we waited until we had been married 10 years, saving diligently over that time by living simply and working hard. We’ve been able to have much less stressful family life because of it with the very important stability that children need. My heart breaks for young women having children by themselves before they have any education, career, savings, or life partner. That’s the biggest obstacle you can have besides bad health.

this is my childhood and still is my life into adulthood, most brutal part is when you're broke you're kind of isolated in society due to no entrance fee, no cultural activities, hobbies, clubs for you, no personal development and socializing much, not even good partner choices since you're loser yourself. It just sucks infinitely. only running behind bread under a huge amount of anxiety of homelessness. constantly, day and night. no fun, no pleasure, no peace. just mental illnesses.
You are not a looser, you are so much more than a person who struggles with financial issues. Please value yourself and remember that you are awesome and important to so many.
Learn to cook and sew. Passes the time and puts money in your pocket, too.
You need to see your PCP for a counseling referral to teach you CBT- Cognitive Behavior Therapy.
@@colleenpeck6347 Sure, unless you're in the USA, where a lot of that won't be covered and (if you're working poor) your out of pocket/ co-pays alone will make any kind of prolonged therapy prohibitively expensive, making your actual problems worse.
I'd just start binge-watching YT videos about frugality, dealing with anxiety, etc., plus fun escapist things about whatever your interests are.
There are plenty of cheap hobbies like writing or drawing. You can get "classes" on YT and just draw on some scrap paper or the backs of junk mail. Or you can fold origami or make paper beads or models. You can find endless fun things to make from scrap cardboard, empty cans and old clothes, which cost nothing or next to nothing.
The library is a great place to pass time. If you are near one or able to go to.
I grew up poor, but my mother kept a budget, cooked every day, meat only on Sundays, our apartment was super tidy, my clothes clean and ironed, sometimes repaired/mended and too short, but always clean. I had to be in bed after 7:30 when the "sandman" came on the tv. We had structure and I never felt poor.
I grew up with working parents and that's the difference. How can people say the poor are just lazy when the poor today are often working 2-3 jobs? No one had time to clean, mend and iron my clothing. I made the dinner for my brothers and I. Having a sahm and being broke because of it is a lot different than having no one in the home at all. Before I was 8, my mom did all the cooking and cleaning from scratch including handmade clothing. Then that changed and life with it. Society has unrealistic expectations of what people can do.
@@jeanne21112 I'm not sure if you're insinuating that my mother did not work. She was a full time cleaning lady (40 hrs). Got up at 4:30 am, took the bus to work and started at 06:00 am. Came home at 3 pm.

My husband escaped the path of poverty ..a mother married again and again to the worst sorts and alcoholic for a father. He escaped because a family relative cared and was there emotionally and for motivation. He became a success and our children as well who know nothing of the life their father had other than the stories. Sometimes it takes someone to just care beyond the basics ..I wish these kids the best of luck ..

@@sg5720 no it's actually not! Luck is on no way shape or form any kind of blessing! Luck is a wish based upon chance, blessings are given without chance and based upon individual needs. Read God's Word, The Holy Bible and ask Him to Show you the difference.
edit*** poor has nothing to do with luck. People do not have to stay poor. It's a mentality and one has to change their confession from I can't, to I can! It is all about motivation and using the God given gifts one has been entrusted with by God to better themselves. We are all equipped to achieve greatness. Luck has nothing to do with anything. Luck is just a word and a phrase that means nothing. There is no such thing as luck. Either one trusts in God to supply their needs or they don't. Its all about putting your faith into Jesus and trusting that He will provide our every need (not our wants.) Rich people are not better off having money. Having Jesus as your Lord and Saviour is better than money. God may not always give us what we want, but He will give us what we need. We have to have faith in Him to do it though. I have no money and cannot take vacations or buy myself new clothes etc, but I have all that I need and my child does as well. It's such a blessing to wake up each day and to know that God is with us. whether have or have not our attitude towards it all makes all of the difference.

@@Yootuber19 how very wrong you are! Prayer does so much that it changes things! I don't always feel better after praying, especially waiting for an answer, but God knows best and His Calendar is not our calendar. He is an on time God and sometimes He doesn't answer the way that wr want, but He sees the big picture. I just have to trust Him! That's called Faith. Prayer does so much, but God is not a genie and doesn't grant wishes. He answers prayers and if believe in Him for whatever we salmon Jesus Name, we shall receive. It has to be in faith.
I grew up in an immigrant family. Decided to only have 1. I refuse to bring a child into this world if I cannot provide for them. It is my personal belief. I think children are precious and angels and I would love to have an abundance of children but we live in reality. It takes $300k to $ million to raise a child and that doesn’t including the daily grind of feeding and clothing and going through life’s changes and challenges. I have visited orphanages from 3rd world countries and have become a pragmatist. I hope to God these kids will be well taken care of. God bless.

Thats so exaggerated. I dont think these kids have such a bad life at all. They are rich in friends, Familie love, Support by the school and so on. Im even sure that more Support will be done by the community after watching this. Some people are so spoiled they think its normal for one or two persons having a full house of their own. I wouldnt. I would rather take a family in and live together, because people arent meant to be isolated. The Main issue is not looking outside of the Box, even children are only talking about the money not knowing its all created out of thin Air and has no value.
That was the norm for most of human history and still in some places it's the norm compared to most of our grandparents in the great depression and before that these kids aren't even poor lol

There is tremendous stress on these children that will have long term effects. I hope many of them can break the cycle of poverty. Education is key to success.
Education used to be the key to success. It has become the key to survival, and by the time these ones have grown up it'll serve them well filling out universal credit forms.
My heart breaks for these precious kids. They are completely innocent. I don’t support these parents decisions to have big families when they can barely take care of themselves. Poverty is a cycle, unfortunately these babies will likely not go to college but have babies themselves too young. Sad

Oh my gosh those little children break my heart. Why isn't the homeless situation focused on more in the UK? Who cares about a royal family, when the children of the country are saving their pennies to loan their parents "in case they need it?" These poor kids ....
My best friend was homeless as a child. He was picked horribly for it. He's undoubtedly the nicest man I know. This isn't right.
Omg, seeing Jacob fold the little glasses cloth so neatly and gently, you can tell how proud he is. Kids who come from money or even not so much upper class, even middle class dont usually respect things as much. I was a brat as a child, I didnt like my glasses and so purposly lost them so I didnt have to wear them lol.
Makes me feel really silly about it now as an Adult, but as a kid you never really think about the monetary divide amongst your peers.
Here in the Philippines, the government doesn’t provide temporary housing or give you money. We also do not have public facilities such as swimming pools, public day care that can cater to your children or universal healthcare. You literally sleep in the streets, under a bridge or live in slums and figure out on your own how to put food on the table. You’re lucky if you have relatives/family who can help. Everywhere in the world it’s heartbreaking to see families especially children experience destitution.

For me it was for the better. Learned the value of a dollar. Grew up poor AF and parents couldn't even get me acne medicine... Now I'm 28, earn $115k, no debt and a net worth of $110k and growing. Meanwhile some of my friends who had everything are still living with their parents and work dead end jobs....
My son is 10, and watching these boys truly breaks my heart. 😢
Feel so sorry for these poor little lads - Kai saying he doesn't want a holiday is so sad. A holiday won't address the root cause of poverty, but it can at least bring a little joy to lives impacted by it. I donate to the Family Holiday Charity, which works to give families with children who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford a holiday the chance to get away for a trip in the UK. It's well worth a look for anyone who's similarly moved by the stories of the boys in this video.

Growing up low income/poor was part of our childhood. A vacation for my twin brother, younger sister and I was when I packed peanut butter sandwiches (no jam in the house) into a paper sack and took my siblings
for a hike to the creek. We put our feet in the cold water and watched my brother catch polliwogs.

Yeah, I grew up poor as well, but my parents made sandwiches (with sugar) and then go to a park etc. Or when we had a bit more money to the beach with the tram. That was heaven and I loved it.

This is a country where I would never ever expect to see families and children suffer like this. I am so impressed by these kids. These are well spoken smart kids.
Isn’t it wild that we suffer taxation without a guarantee that our needs for survival will be met? A basic and acceptable accommodation of clean water, shelter, and food should be guarantees in a society that suffers taxation. Otherwise this is just slavery with different strokes, where the government owns you instead of a private citizen.

I will never understand why people continue to have more kids when they are struggling!
And why the parents can't tidy and clean the kids rooms, and make the children go to bed and sleep at a set time each day so they will be alert at school the next day.

My parents were poor even both fully working. We lived in 2 rooms whole life but as far as I remember, they never let us live in such mess at home..like this Kai.. even we did not have too much furniture, all clothes were folded, room and toys cleaned up, and homeworks done at dining table. No excuses.
As a kid i had a vague idea that we were not well off but never as aware as these kids are. Kids shouldn’t have to worry about money.
It's so sad these kids have to worry about grown up things,,,hopefully they take something from this experiences into their adult lives.
I hope the silver lining to this for them would be to not follow their irresponsible donors footsteps into having children they can't afford. Somebody has to stop the cycle of this madness.
People shouldn't keep having kids they can't take care of just so they can experience having kids. When they they should stop at 1-2 kids.
When they can barely take care of themselves. Especially when they haven't passed important adult milestones to have earned the right to have children.
Once they start realizing that, things probably will change for the better. Why some people have children just to make them suffer in the poverty they're in I'll never understand. People should want to be a blessing to their children not a curse.
Fyi I'm kids-less by choice until I'm more emotionally and financially stable.

He said “as long as she’s doing her best” and that right there is every reason to give your kids the best life possible. My children will never know poverty bc their dad and I get up every single day and work opposite shifts and my husband usually pulls 16 hr days. We work hard to give our children a good life and I wish more parents would be motivated by those little faces the way others are.
Must be nice to have your kid's dad that actually cares about you working...we all don't have that support
i think it’s really sad that you think because you can do it everyone else can. you cant get hired if you don’t have clean clothes, good hygiene or a means of transportation. it’s hard to get a job and even harder to get a job when you’re already deep in poverty.
@@tir3d_al1za every single rebuttal to my comment is an excuse. They are all excuses. Every single city in this country has help, free help for ALL of those things you listed. The problem is lack of effort. Where I work we have a cook….this man IS homeless. He gets up every single day and catches the bus to work from whatever shelter he stayed at the night before. A shelter he is welcome at any time as long as he’s sober and willing to try. That’s all it takes is the willingness to TRY. I’m not ignorant I understand that children of a doctor have way more opportunities than the children of a housekeeper but both of them TRIED and did the best they can. And if someone is sitting around everyday waiting for their struggles to end and for someone to fix their problems for them…they will stay stagnant forever.
Also your kids might rather you be spending time with them rather than working all the time to buy them things

I have 9 kids no excuses for untidiness. If you cant keep your home clean & tidy why would you expect a bigger home. Bigger home bigger mess.
We need family planning. Adults who can’t care for themselves certainly should not be having kid(s).
Also, cut corporate welfare, a huge problem!
These families are really struggling as it is, but this really shows the importance of the social services they do have access to. Imagine their situations if they couldn't access housing, didn't have the food support, didn't have caring people offering extra support at school, etc. These kids just wouldn't stand a chance.
Im south african and most of the children here live below the poverty line and in man made structures with whatever cheap material that can be found with no toilet or bath facilities so im no stranger to this terrible problem with this said the dedication of these teachers and the school is so admirable ... what a blessing
The fact I used to give my toys away to my friends as a kid like it was nothing really hits home how lucky I was ( and still am ) to come from financial stability. Never once did rent or bills or food ever cross my mind until I had to start fending for myself as an adult.
So why is that young girl, whose father "can't work" because the two youngest aren't in school, having to watch them anyway while she's trying to do homework? Full time stay at home parent and yet there's not enough structure and stability that the middle child can do homework and get enough sleep. Sounds like the dad isn't trying very hard.

its hard to say but everytime i watch a documentry like this i see a similar picture. little education, lots of kids. please please please, if you can barely feed yourself, DO NOT HAVE KIDS. because in the end the kids suffer the most and you as their parents are responsible for that.
Either people will have kids they can't afford or the babies will be aborted. I don't know why it's so hard to just keep their hands and privates to themselves but it is and they're not going to be responsible. So babies are the natural consequence of that.

Don't assume all poverty stricken families were always poor. Sometimes, people have kids then get sick or other issues happen and then they're poor.

Excuse me, I disagree. Sometimes when you are poor, has no family, kids are comfort. It is not fair that entitled rich like the king of Britain can have kids and family, and poor people not because society is a monarch.
I really wish I could reach in and educate the parents on their renting rights. Someone needs to tell them they have rights and a landlord cannot give just a days or a week notice. That there is a protocol that even landlords have to follow
So, your teaching these kids that owning a home is free? That they don't need to pay bills and property taxes when owning a home? Maybe they should educate these parents on financial literacy!

Sometimes it's possible if the family were lodging with someone...a lodger doesn't have the same rights as a tenant. Or in emergency accommodation, it can suddenly end with days notice and the family is moved on. Maybe that's what they were referring to.

Five minutes in and I was already in tears... Seeing Jacob and the other kids made me so sad... No child should have to live like that 😢 I know that a lot of children around the world have it way worse but for a country like England, where there are so many rich people, that's just terrible. The poverty of the parents shouldn't effect innocent children.

I'm sorry but if you can't afford to feed yourself then why are you having 6 kids?? That is horribly irresponsible. Have they not heard of birth control?? I understand one but not 6 when you have no career or way of supporting them. Those poor kids. Very sweet boy but isn’t 8 pounds per person per day actually a decent amount to have left after the bills are paid ? Three people x 8 pounds x 7 days is 168 pounds per week ( $ 285 Canadian dollars ) is actually more than we have left for food and clothing and I don’t consider us as living in poverty at all .
Tell me out it they just v poor management I use to live on £34/week for food transport electric just manage well n u don't need to live in filty house just coz u don't v money 🙄

Depends on cost of living (price of food, etc.). Not only that but I would say that 8 pounds for a child might not necessarily be “worth” as much as for an adult in the sense that more often children need new clothes (damage due to playing as children should, simply outgrowing things, etc.). One of the hard things about not having much money is finding it difficult to create a safety net of savings, so where one person might have enough money to buy quality shoes that will last longer, another person might need to buy cheaper shoes that won’t last as long and will need to be replaced thrice before the quality shoes would. That is to say, the poorer person will spend more money in the long run simply because they can’t afford anything more upfront.
£4 a day to feed them, they need clothes,shoes, transportation, birthday, Christmas, toiletries, cleaning products, a new/secondhand cooker/washing machine/carpet and it doesn’t go far.
Heart wrenching watching these kids struggle.

I don’t like thinking about growing up poor but I was glad my mom couldn’t have anymore kids. I still don’t understand why parents are sooo darn selfish and want more and more kids so they can experience poverty too. Constantly worrying about food, bills being paid, lights being shut off, rent overdue and the strong depression and anxiety was hellish.
I’d nvr bring kids into a life where I can’t provide for them.
* And yeah , I understand some parents are well off in the beginning but fall into hard times, my comments aren’t for them. It’s for the ones who are in hard times and think having another kid in said times is a good idea

I came from a welfare family, alcoholic single dad, never had any cool-kids-clothes or able to be part of the social norm in school. Im sure it did some damage. However, I'm now an airline captain earning more than I can spend, have multiple properties and living a very comfortable lifestyle. One can ask, if I would work as hard as I did if I dint come from a impoverished background... My point is, we need adversity to grow, not all will make it and with a bit of luck and determination, one can crawl out of the desperation their parents created. These kids in the vid will surely need it in this day and age.
Rather than looking for excuses for his sons difficulty with learning, the dad needs to help him with extra reading and writing at home.

Ahh yes, that’s why we exchanged spending time with our families, hunting, and farming for working all day for a corporation and sending our kids to public school, so that we could work all day AND then also have to teach our kids what they need to know anyways because public schools are an absolute failure at what they are attempting to do… all because the school system has been ultimately bought off and is ran by oligarchs that want your kids to grow up to do what they are told and work in a factory till they croak.

Too many parents think that it’s only the school’s job to educate their children. Every child is different. Some need more help than others. My kids had excellent teachers yet they still needed our help with their homework sometimes. We were ALWAYS there to help them, even after spending full days at our jobs. That’s part of the job of being a parent.
M6 parents were both high school teachers and still helped us with our homework after the family supper. They took us to the library every week to get new books to read. Having your kids practice reading out loud is imperative for child development. During summer break we had several books to read that would benefit us in the upcoming year.
The threat of homelessness is horrible, and these children are going through a lot. I can't imagine to have to grow up homeless. This school is doing a fantastic job.
Two other things stood out to me too:

Same. I'm only 28. They couldn't even buy me acne medicine when I was full of them. That poor. Thankfully now WAY better. I earn $115k and no debt. I still struggle to get emotionally attached to anyone cuz I learned to take care of myself and we moved around so much. Only attached to my dog. I learned the value of a dollar and still find it hard to splurge on myself. The recent loss of my young aunt made me realize I could die tmrw so I need to live now. Booked some solo trips. I still get called cheap and people don't think I make a lot cuz I don't show it off.
As a cameraman or anyone involved in the production, there filming them and speaking with them, I would feel so bad for these kids. I'd feel the need to help them out in any way possible. It's heartbreaking to hear the kid say he wants to experience eating at a restaurant.
Poverty shouldn't exist there are enough resources but the greedy 1 percent take everything.
Lastly we need to do more as individuals.
My husband is currently terminally ill but when he goes I want to open my home to someone in need .

I am glad you're not responsible for any financial institute. If no one is poor, no one is rich, you'd just create communism. The idea of inflation may be foreign to you, but not to people who actually work with numbers. That's why bleeding hearts should never be in charge to make important decisions, just look at all the liberal states turning to homeless junkie hellholes. But ofc, we should all have 'stuff'.

It’s the same way in America too! I make 27 dollars an hour and don’t go on vacation bc bills/groceries/unforeseen circumstances.

When that teacher said she was going to get that boy his own alarm clock so he'd have "no excuse for going to bed late, or getting up late", I thought, "Really? You can't think of any other reasons this kid might not be going to sleep at a regular time, or might not be sleeping well, or might have trouble waking up in the morning?" I'm pretty sure an alarm clock is not the solution to child's problems.
I reckon the boy was old enough to use his alarm clock to what is best for him.
She's not there to fix every problem in his life, just one - to get to school on time. An alarm clock is the perfect solution if he actually uses it.

But if you’re facing food insecurity, you’re probably going to end the day feeling exhausted and might need more sleep. If you’re sharing a room with 3 other people, you might not be able to sleep early no matter how hard you try. An alarm is great, sure. But it doesn’t address anything else. It isn’t the teacher’s job to fix the student’s home life (obviously excluding mandatory reporting where necessary) but many teachers are invested in trying to provide their students with the best environment in which to learn and that does usually include paying attention to and responding to a child’s life at home/outside of school. That being said, I wouldn’t necessarily judge this teacher’s comment in a vacuum; we can’t say for sure that she isn’t helping in other ways, isn’t trying multiple methods to help him get to school on time, etc..

The school is really amazing for taking initiatives to help those kids. Many teachers from the UK moved to Asia to teach as the benefits are way better and they can live comfortably. Though, they always say they miss UK but it was literally impossible to live a better life as everything has become more expensive- its hard to afford things as opposed to working and teaching in Asia.

So in South Africa our poor live in corrtugated tin huts, there are open pit latrines at their schools. Kids walk kilometers/miles to get to school. Yes, Africa is unique. But I slso wish that the majority of people would be more grateful for what they receive. 😢

Kai is so insightful. Well all the kids are but he stood out the most. So sad, they have to worry about adult issues but when it’s staring at them right in the face it becomes their worry as well. Hope they all grow to be successful at what they choose to do in their lives.

Whenever I see those children's bedrooms, I just can't help but wonder why they must look so squalid. Piles of scrunched up clothes on the floor, no proper bed sheets... They seem to be sleeping on bare mattresses. As a parent, those are the things I'd try to get in order.
I think some, not all, are just bad parents or messed up in their heads, that's why even thought they have debts, no job, and no house, they decided to have lots of kids when then can't afford to care for them...then expecting others to give them free stuff. Sadly, the way the children are raised and the social environment they are exposed to will mean the cycle will continue.

I remember always being hungry as a child. I had food insecurity and crappy clothes was bullied at school then abused and neglected at home. My heart breaks for these kids because I know what it's like and it's too much worry and stress for little ones. 💔

A lot of the people who are homeless have mental illnesses such as depression, which makes it difficult for people to care for themselves and others.

Damn. I've grown up poor too. Never had to starve, but had to cut back on many things. Sometimes no class trips, never holidays, clothes had to last long and not the toys you would wand to have. For a child that's hard. I always knew he have no money and it impacts children so much.
Same time the household I grew up in was very toxic and I was neglected and abused.
To this day I feel like I don't deserve things. I work a good job I got out of it but I'll always have problems spending money. I feel guilty and I save as much as I can. The inner fear of suddenly not having anything is still strong.
For me the greatest thing is that I can buy the food I love. I don't look if raspberries are super cheap right now if I want them I buy them. If I want a chocolate I buy it. It's weird. But to me that's one of the greatest things I achieved.
I wish all those children the best. They deserve everything. No child should be worrying about money and financial safety. ❤

Kai isn’t homeless. He has a two bedroom house. Yes it’s crowded (parents have more children than they can provide for), but it’s a home. Some kids are lucky to get one room in a homeless shelter.
It also only talks about his mom working, does the stepdad work? If not then why? Lots of lazy people on benefits in UK.
I think it depends-haven’t quite made it through the video so not sure if their situation is mentioned in full (whether they own the house which I’m assuming not, are renting, etc.) but homelessness also comprises unstable access to housing which may be the case for Kai’s family.

The mother shouldn’t be talking to her very young son about money and making him worry. Bad parenting. My family didn’t have much money growing up but my parents never talked to me about money. They did what they could and I had a relatively normal childhood, shielded from money worries.

My kids don't know how lucky they were and still are not having had to worry about anything at all our houses always had food always had the best shoe's clothes etc not never having to go a day without anything. It hurts my heart too see and hear these kids acting and thinking more like adults than kids
