    So glad Sharon doesn’t need additional surgery. Right back into collecting rocks and helping move solar panels! You’re a trooper! Wall is looking so good, Andy.

    Great news Sharon.. If you are unhappy about the plaster coming off too soon, ask for another cast. It would be better to be sure than sorry🌸🌸
    Andy, that wall is unrecognisable with your patching job. You really are a clever lad..
    Cheers to you both❤️🌸❤️

    Good news on Sharon’s wrist, collecting stones is really helpful for you Andy. Love the way the wall is going, I try not to thing how many stones to do before all your walls are done LOL. But I know that just like the kitchen, it will be well done and lovely. Quite a team!

    Quicklime was used by my teacher in horse-riding to spray on the inner walls of the stable. It sure got rid of all unwanted insects that would bug the horses. But the horses had to stay outside for a time and people were not allowed in without protective clothing and masks.

    We never thought of actually checking the temperature when mixing ours, all we knew was it got hot 😂also it gave off vapors similar to when we made putty from quick lime.

    You're doing a fantastic job on your house. The courtyard is a great setting to kick back and have a beer at the end of the day. Do you have any info on the solar panels that you are adding?

    • @FincaLife
      @FincaLife  4 месяца назад

      Thank you - they are just standard panels available from the DIY superstores. In our case they are 405W panels and are 79€ each

    Courtyard is looking wonderful but I think putting the solar panels where you can see them might spoil the effect. Why not put them on the donkey shed roof??

    • @FincaLife

      It's standard linseed oil available from the DIY super stores. It contains natural drying agents and in some places is referred to as boiled linseed oil.

    • @FincaLife

      We mix what we can use - It takes about two hours to use up the mixes we make. If we're needing larger quantities at once, we get the big mixer out

    Another couple of RUclips channels that use lime that might be worth watching is MAKE.DO.GROW and Portugal from scratch. You can slake lime a long time in advance apparently

    • @talesfromthecaveside
      @talesfromthecaveside 4 месяца назад

      If making a lime putty from quick lime (cal viva) it must be slaked and matured before use unless you are using it as a hot lime mix, which is a different method and for use in a different situation.

    • @FincaLife
      @FincaLife  4 месяца назад

      Why on earth would we want to do that? You can buy it, already slaked, for peanuts, without having to go through any of the palaver. A bag of quicklime costs nearly as much as a bag of ready to go stuff and we have better things to use our time on.
