    Her dropping off Todd in the woods kills me. That music makes me cry every time.

    The scene where she has to let Todd go is almost similar to how when an owner has to bring their pet to the vet for that hard decision!

    I know everyone always says they cry at Bambi, but for some reason this movie gets to me way more. The scene where she leaves him in the woods and he doesn’t understand what’s going on makes me cry every time.

    Fun fact: Foxes were domesticated by early man before wolves. Also, in some states you can still have a fox as a pet.

    This movie is so sad and underrated, seeing you cry most of the movie completely represented me 😭

    Because it's a cartoon I won't go too serious. But the fact I know she thought she was protecting him by releasing him to the wild. But when you raise a wild animal, and they lose most of their skills because there being fed by humans, and they become domesticated, they'd not know how to react or be able to hunt because no one ever showed them. So naturally, Tod would have starved to death or been attack by wild animals. But because it's a cartoon I will just accept it. But There's a movie called Born Free
    PG 1966 ‧ Adventure/Drama. I highly recommend it.

      I had that movie as a kid on VHS, barely remember it but it was about lion cubs, right?

      @@ChezaWR Right. the one lady kept one and it grew up until later on it shows the story of them trying to reenter Elsa the Lion into the wild. It's a good movie to watch.

    Good storytellng (not to mention directing, animation, and voice acting). All the CGI in the world can't beat great writing.

    Foxes are very much afraid of hounds since hounds were bred by humans specifically for hunting/tracking wild animals.

    If anyone has read the book, then y’all know how the book goes. I’ve read the book (Fox and The Hound) as a kid my babysitter bought me the book as a kid. It traumatized me as a child. The book is completely different

    • @DevlinBlake
      @DevlinBlake 5 месяцев назад

      This is a lot less traumatic than that book

    Now to make this very depressing with some fun facts. There is book called "fox and hound" by Mannix but Disney could not use its rights. Luckily another author Rook pretty much ripped off the story, and this was Disney version. The story theme is about war and 2 friends being forced to fight on opposite sides. Rook version is poetic with fox being friends with hound and also was raised by same hunter, connecting everyone however had more of a lazy ending with Hunter randomly dying of heart attack. Mannix version is more realistic and darker with the fox dying of exhaustion from being hunted by hound. The hunter and hound were strangers to fox. The hound is also killed by his owner after he is kicked off his land and forced into a retirement home. Out of the 3 stories even if it loses some of war themes from books, I think Disney movie was the best story of 3. Widow Tweed raising Tod made more sense and being neighbors with Hunter/Copper so it wasn't just a random guy with his dog hunting Tod.

    well, the more you know.

    Why do so many Disney movies traumatize kids by having a parent die? This movie is heartbreaking

    • @DevlinBlake
      @DevlinBlake 5 месяцев назад

      Because Disney himself was traumatized by losing his mother.
