My eyes itch so so bad, watery, burning they were only on for 3 days and had to take them off, wasted 100.00 and looking for a safer alternative

@@wrshpgirl84 The glue can be really irritating. Might have to ask around for different types of glue or go to the magnetic ones!

Thank you for this. I'm not going to my appointment for lash extensions tomorrow. I had a funny feeling not to do it and you've confirmed my feelings.

Thanks Doc, I recently started getting eye straps to enhance my eyes and I wondered how it could affect my eyes and lashes so, I appreciate your professional opinion. Although I do like the look of the extensions, I will use it sparingly and try some of the options you mentioned here. Keep doing what you do, much appreciated...peace 🙏💖

Thanks so much for making this amazing informative video! I am now looking for a lash glue alternative that is formaldehyde free and that doesn’t contain harmful ingredients. So far what I’m finding are lash extension glues made with medical grade adhesive that are used in suture-less wound closure (an FDA approved surgical adhesive since 1998)?

Thank you for sharing the risk of eyelash extensions. This makes me think twice before going and get eyelash extensions for the first time. I think I should try some good serum to help my eyelashes grow.. what are your thoughts about Microblading and shading I’m thinking of doing something like that in my eyebrows but I’m still daunting Since I haven’t taken the time to find out more about it.
    Let me know xoxoxo

A good lash serum can do a lot of good in terms of increasing lash length and retention!

Ik it’s been a year but be careful with lash serums that are not 100% clean they contain a very harmful ingredient that cause the fat around your eye to dissolve and cause dark circles and harm to ur eye

Thank you I got them and I kept telling the lady something was wrong cause my eyes wouldn't stop watering, burning, and itching. So hasn't been a week and almost all fell out cause it irritated my eyes so much and can't get a refund 223$ down the drain and I loved them. They only have 3 day policy on getting fixed I told the lady they were falling out and she said they were fine and day 3 no response from her

Hi Dr D, all these terrible things mentioned about eyelash extensions but why do most people know about basic lid hygiene? Poor lid hygiene does more damage to the health of the eye than quality lash extensions applications.

    • @EyeSchoolwithDrD
      @EyeSchoolwithDrD  3 года назад +3

Basic lid hygiene does go a LONG way as well and Id even say is a prerequisite before you even consider lash extensions.

Can the glue cause permanent scarring ? I am a regular extension wearer and my long time technician may have damaged my eye. Problem is I only have one eye due to retinoblastoma. I am really scared. Is scarring possible ?

    Thank u for this
I got extensions for 4 years straight then had a break and my. Lashes did not grow back the same- they were less thick
So after 6 month break I have got them again
I love them but I feel the glue effects my mood the day after application
It’s like in my blood stream
    Does that sound possible ?
Also I am now going to quit them for good because it sounds like I may loose all my natural lashes possibly
    ?
    Back to natural
Are the glues for the stick on ones ok ?

Formaldehyde is also in many vaccines :/

    • @-Radical.Ed-
      @-Radical.Ed- 2 года назад +6

The thing about it it's all about molecular quantity. Our body actually produces it but it's able to eliminate it due to the molecular quantity of it being minimal.
In glues the quantity is much higher, especially if you let it build up, using products that have this toxic material and do not follow any regulation.
Formaldehyde is actually a subproduct produced in the body by enzymatic oxidation of Vitamin B9. Once produced it can be detoxified by either of two biochemical reactions, one of which converts it to formate, which is then used to make the DNA and amino acids that cells require. No formate, no DNA. This does not mean in any way this chemical would have any place on a beauty product formula because apart from the partake in this reaction mentioned above a bigger "scale" would harm you.
