Better look at local taxes, property, sales and county bonds. Next look at home and auto insurance. In some areas you’ll have a CDD cost. I lived 21 years in Florida and moved in 2024. All said and done Florida is not cheap. Remember this is the third most populace state, traffic is horrendous

We visited Miami recently and fell in love with Florida. We live in Canada but started thinking about other places to retire. Florida seems like a good option, but my concern is that summers are too hot. We're planning to visit Portugal too as an alternative... Would the two compare?
Compared to Canada, I am guessing that summers are significantly hotter. But compared to a lot of the US, summers in my honest opinion is significantly cooler. It rarely goes over the low 90s in the summer. On the other hand, a large chunk of the US gets 100+ temperatures during the summer. Most people who visit from other places that visit during the summer on vacation whine cluelessly about how hot it is but are often biased. Why? Well let me use Nebraska as an example. We have had so many random weeks with temperatures over 100 this year. It's brutal but people don't notice it because they are working. They are either inside an office or inside a house with central air. Then you go on vacation to Florida... guess what, when you go on vacation, you spend a lot more time outside. It might just be in the mid 80s but because you are outside you think... "omg it's so hot in Florida during the summer." And you miss the fact that summers are far more brutal where you live.

Do a video of Mulberry Florida someday.
It would be good to provide the price in the description, something like: Orlando from $300,000, etc.
You mentioned average rental prices for every city except Tampa.

The crime in florida and portugal quite different.
@@justincase4925 that's true.
It is really hot, but at least it doesn't cool down at night and it's extremely humid
You really ought to include the crime rates for each of these locations.
I only came for the comments on this one.
