The reason Pikachu got all that plot armor was because it was the Partner Pikachu from _Let's Go Pikachu._ (Likewise, Eevee was the Partner Eevee from _Let's Go Eevee,_ hence why it couldn't evolve).
Partner Pikachu has a full 110 extra BST than a normal Pikachu, guaranteed perfect IVs, four signature moves (one of which doesn't even take a moveslot) and more prominent friendship mechanics than any other Pokemon, including an increased crit rate, the ability to remove its status effects and endure hits that would otherwise cause it to faint (That's where the whole "Pikachu healed its burn with its sheer determination so you wouldn't worry!" and "Pikachu toughed it out so you wouldn't feel sad!" bits come from: They're ported _straight_ from Let's Go.

The problem is that the friendship mechanics are mechanics that ANY pokemon can take advantage of.

Bro me and my family watched this since we all love Pokémon. As the only one to frequently compete in regionals seeing Swampert put in the finest work I legit tore my shirt with pride just to watch him get clowned on.

Cool u noticed poipole. He is there because its pokedex entry says in other dimensions it is a starter pokemon but since it isnt a starter pokemon for us ever it leaves through a wormhole

There is some inherent BS involved in this fight, but it's fun, at least. Example: Pikachu only got as far as it did because of a mechanic that technically EVERY Pokemon could have.

If lets go pikachu wasnt here charizard would have defeated blaziken because of the weakness.
Seen recently the fire type tierlist made by wolfy and charizard was number three so the third strongest fire type.
Incineroar was first but he is a support that mainly works in double so charizard would have won.

though blaziken was an uber demon back in the days while charizard kinda sucks without mega, we're talking 1v1 not 2v2, with speed boost and sword dance blaziken would have been fatser and OKHO charizard
