Not for plot, for statistics. Swampert was never gonna win when literally 1/3rd of the competitors were grass type
@@pika1222 it WAS for the plot, monke was supposed to be dead, like everyone else throwed into the pit, so Rillaboom somehow coming back, just to get Swampert IS plot... total opposite of plot armor
@pika1222 I mean it wasn't a 0% chance or anything.
But yeah, having a 4× weakness to a third of the roster is a big dent a lot of the time.
@@leonburgosmeneses8468 The animation doesn’t fully represent the statistics. Swampert was well over his time when 1/3 the roster was Grass Types.

@@pika1222eh I still disagree with the logic behind a lot of their decisions here. Like they’re only considering the moves the Pokémon could learn via level up, but also considered the Pokémon’s competitive viability in singles, which is dumb as hell when a lot of these Pokémon are not good with just their base move set and especially their base abilities. Like the argument of “blaziken wins because it’s been Ubers” is bad blaziken is only in Ubers because of speed boost, an ability that it wouldn’t have when given as a starter.
My favorite starter is Torterra and I love how he made it to the top ten.
BW main characters are 14/15 years old if i remember correctly

7:56 it took a thunder shock because charizard is a flying type, being weak to electric, and someone would say that type advantage isnt it all, but i would assume the pikachu is a really high level judging by the HP bar at the (almost) end, plus, its the pikachu from Let's Go, so boosted stats

I believe that the unova trainers started their journey at 15 instead of the normal in game 11 years so Cheren woukd have been 17 when he became a gym leader. Though they could probably start much younger since in the Anime Misty was stated to be "a kid" too in the Entei and unown movie

I feel like if Swampert wasn’t taken out by Rillaboom he would’ve won easily
- Ground and Water type makes him 4x resistant to Fire and immune to Electric
- Earthquake and Surf
- Bulky af and hits like a truck
Only problem is now Grass is 4x strong so even like a small vine whip would do lots of damage

Had Rillaboom not come back, I think Charizard was the only other Pokémon who could defeat Swampert, as it's immune to Ground type moves, and can dodge Swampert more easily before grabbing it to fly high and drop it, or using its supremely hot flames to take it down.
Also, Swampert is resistant to Fire, not quad resistant (Ground doesn't resist Fire).

7:25 what is this? Swampert is prob my favorite water type starter and he loses to a monkey that should've no, DID die at 4:05?! He should've won imo, if there were grass types left he would've gotten destroyed but they all died at the beginning for some reason.
Yea this is been stated that they decide who’s most likely to win regardless of what’s shown and when ur quad weak to a third of the competition it’s hard to say you just win

the part with the drum monkey coming out of nowhere and taking out swampert was BS because it was on fire and fell into a hole that's implied to have KILLED every pokemon that fell in except hisuin typhlosion(at first), in the linked video they don't even explain how the freaking thing came back, the reason why they took swampert out was to kneel to popularity since pikachu, charizard and blaziken are really popular pokemon
In all fairness swampert having a 4x weakness to grass means he is unlikely to win unless a third of the competition is wiped in his favor. These videos also adhere to game logic, so the winner possesing that big a weakness was very unlikely

You just reuploaded someone elses video and provided almost no commentary. The video is 10min long and you dont pause during you talk for one minute after and during the video you just say what is happening in the video absolutely not transformative content. Sniperwolf behavior!
