The mounting of the motor needs to be trimmed properly. Both height and angle. It’s hard to tell properly. But you are losing a lot of efficiency as it looks like the motor is try to push the boat down into the water. Might help somewhat?
If you have a smart BMS, it should log any protection modes that are triggered. But if voltage isn’t completely cutting out, then it would seem more like an ESC or settings/programming issue. When I experience an over current event or a cell that has fallen below minimum discharge threshold, my BMS’s cut out and bank voltage drops accordingly as if someone pulled the plug out of the wall -so everything shuts off. I then am able to reset them pretty quickly by flipping my DPDT master power switch which cuts all loads, and everything comes back on line. Looking forward to what you find.
@@kauaislash5 thanks, yes it's a Daly smart BMS so if there are lots I should be able to see what happened. I'll take a look later! When I find time I'll also look at the VESC logs too. Been crazy busy trying to get my son's micro jet boat done this last two weeks - working lots of late evenings

@@thetredog that is the case for sure, at least to some point.
BMS normally won't reset on it's own, you have to remove the load completely to reset if it were the BMS

You need approximate 5kw to get on plane with one person. Have you tested the battery offshore with a big load?
