Hey dude, I don't often look behind the curtain with Tesla, more invested emotionally in SpaceX. That said, I find you keeping me up to date with Tesla, when I click on your videos, enough. Tesla has always been the long term project for me since 2019. Looking toward 2028/2030... whether I even take some profits then is totally dependent on my financial situation at 80/82... Before then, I'm still building... I don't mind a dip this year... More stocks to buy... looking for the next splits...

Unfortunately I don't see anything driving the stock higher until next year. I thought the Cybertruck was going to be the catalyst for this year but it doesn't appear it will be. Long term I'm still excited about Tesla, this year, not so much.
I thought the same last year... had to wait until last month to buy more, but I'm hopeful that this years dip will be a better buying opportunity... I'm in no hurry to see it rise beyond reach again... I'm looking at doubling my stock since the last split... ready for a stock split in 2025 / 26... Thinking 3 stock splits before 2031.

This is certain a year between waves!! Car sales may only increase by 25% rather than 50% but energy storage going strong though there are other technologies out there for competition! So the question is what should be P/E?? Historicaly at over 50 was always insane and Tesla will need to get those products generating cash in 2024 to I've confidence for future sales of their products/

So many just don't appreciate all the things that Tesla has going right now.. you wonder what they are thinking to not see the growth that is come so quickly.
I think gen 3 will be a toned down version of Cybertruck using stainless to eliminate the need for paint. Still angular but not needing the triangle shape CT needed for strength and the vault, etc.
That would cost way more than just adding paint. Doubt it’ll happen.
No matter what Tesla does, the stock goes down, even after ‘solving’ FSD.

You know, war chest is good and all that, but 29 billion is a lot, I'm having a hard time swallowing that just sitting on all that money is the best thing they could be doing with it.
Why do you think they’re not going to be utilising much of it? We know of several projects which will consume a significant amount of that, and that’s before any other projects we don’t know anything about.
Each new factory they build costs at least $4bn so there’s probably at least two new ones in the pipeline plus expansions at Berlin and maybe Shanghai….Elon is a genius at capital allocation, don’t worry, he knows cash is useless sitting in the bank!

Even just the growth of their car business alone is so extreme, unique and so on, most people don't get it, nothing compares to that. They started to produce their first own car, not counting rebuilding lotuses as building their own cars, less than 12 years ago, and now they produce the best selling car in the world, that's also an EV. They also started, from what is, in that context, essentially nothing. And people go, "Yeah yeah, but soon they'll be out of luck." Or, say: Look, and point to some number out of context, and pretend it proves Tesla will be bankrupt tomorrow. And completely disrupting the car industry might become just part of the prologue to the story of Tesla's achievements/importance.
While the other car companies lost on their EV cars, Tesla made a bundle. In one of the worst economic recessions of our time with record high interest rates. Tesla still sold 1.8 million cars. Folks, buy the dip and enjoy the ride!
If Chrysler were to remake the Dodge Journey only in a 500 mile solid state battery electric version it would pay them off hugely. A dual motor front and rear electric drive with no connection between front and rear but good wheel spin authority and 48 volt electric steering. This car would outsell every Chrysler product hands down. 48v for all additional power components. With front and rear slow speed steering.

Like that one the next Tesla is Tesla. It appears we have another buying opportunity.
If money doesn't really matter, based on net incime this year, I think Tesla will do good to sell the upcoming I upcoming batch of model 2's for 20000 dollars for their first batch of 500000 cars. I think their revenue and income will increase based on multiple vusiness projects they are running. Despite the 10% lower price of a model 3/Y, both cars are still 10-20% too high, based on market expectations of the compact EV segment, no matter what the induatry average is. That is in my view still a hige inflated price. It is noble they want to outpeform performance to pricing ratios to competitors, but since they have surpassed that, I think trying to come to more realistic financially sound investments for most people will have to be the aim of the model 2. In my view the 25000 dollar goal on my view is still on the upper eceholon of compact EV pricing and an unrealistic sound investment for most. In my view the goal of a 20000 dollar compact EV should be the goal to aim for. Again, not when looking from the argument that profit doesn't matter bit from a sound investment for the average consumer. Tesla will still sell well by trend, but if they keep up the the benchmark of 25000, which likely means this vehicle will be decently specced to around 28000 dollars, that's close to a model 3, and that pricing will make the model 2 less interesting fast in the mid to long term. It will in my view carry a mantra of a money making product rather than a longterm good product. I think it would do better with a very low priced basic version that is very good, and build a great third party market around it to spec up the Tesla value ad for reasonable investments.
It is great to see Tesla dare challenge the statis qup for better, easier and faster production methods. But there in also lies its achilles heel, where proprietary for and consumer means in general maintemac3 and repair are going to be expensive, because only Tesla makes them, which in essence makes them a monopoly for spare parts manufacturing. And just like we learned from Apple, parts that are not widely easily available, which Apple certification, means third party repair will be very limited, repair will be specialized and relatively more expensive than third party cheaper but widely avialable parts for the masses. Therein will be a fragile balance of quality of quantity, for a price you can not refuse, or live with its consequences. Repair is luckily less common in EVs, but never absolute zero. Ironically the most common repairs are similar to many common issues with other EVs such as tires, wheels, suspension, brakes, layches and lights perhaps. Repairs of frontband rear bumper are amazingly expensive. I din't understand why they have to be so expensive in 2024. Surely Tesla can disrupt the industry on that?
One thing I would like to see Tesla to innovate on is to make a windscreen wiper technology where we don't have to replace our wipers every 1-2 years and are not dependent on wastefully expensive wiper fluid. That would be the car invention of the century!😅😉

Not always true. If the prices is "too low" then sales suffer as people suspect something is wrong or that the item is "low status". Finding the right price is an art (tho some companies were using expert systems and are now using AI to find the best price).

Production Technolgy and vertical integration are world class, though. So, bottom line they are a good car maker operating in a very competitve market. Their valuation should be accordingly, meaning about $80 a share and not $200

So Tesla has 22.2 B at the start. Now, if Tesla were to keep its promise of growing at 50%, we should see 33.3 B at the end. But what we see is only 29.1 B. Shouldn't we, the investors, panic???
nobody has promised to grow profits 50% YoY. It was about cars production and it was multi-year horizon average - some years can be more, some years can be less. I personally would keep this multi-year average expectation around 25-30%

@@meelis79 E Musk himself has said that cars sales/production will grow 50% every year. Of course, some years will be less and some years will be more. Some years will be 40%, some years will be 80%. 2023 should be 1.65 million and 2024 should be 2.5 million.
Now, if the boss of the company said that we will sell 50% more cars next years, investors will naturally expect that to imply profits will also be 50% more. So, now, are u telling me that it is ok for the boss to turn around and say :" haha, caught u!! I only promise 50% more cars, not 50% more profit"?
Investors do not tolerate this kind of nonsense and that is y $410 drop to $182.

I have no doubt that within the next 2 years Tesla will have fully functional autonomous cars and humanoid robots. The social and economic implications are profound. If human employment tanks big time (50, 60, 70% unemployment globally?) are we looking at a global depression that makes 1929 look like a minor blip? And will that lead to a world war as it did back then? It's not all sun drenched golden uplands.

The Tesla naysayers and most of the media, let's be honest, don't look back at stories the told against Tesla which proved to be false, they just run with new stories, because the public tends to have short memories. If you were to sit down and explain about, say, the recent recall, (which was handled by an over the air update), they would argue because they heard on the news about the recall. When are you taking your car to the shop to get it fixed, they ask. Already fixed in my driveway, you answer. They simply have not frame of reference to this subject.

TSLA is not being penalized today in the stock price because of FY2023 performance. It is is the guidance that made institutional investors fold up and bears are having a field day today: Reasons: 1) gloomy revenue growth in 2024; 2) no guidance on margins; 3) low cost vehicle only in LATE 2025; 4) NVDA chips instead of DOJO (glad i own NVDA); 5) capitulation to Chinese EV manufacturers (i.e., comment "without trade barriers they will destroy everyone". i assume this includes Tesla; 5) COGS improvements exhausted in Model Y and Model ...Next two years, TSLA stock is dead money. I believe they introduce a viable low cost vehicle. On the hand, FSD (level 5) and Optimum commercially available soon? If you believe this, "I have a bridge to sell you" (US joke) 😄

Yo Lars, consider how excited E gets when discussing the new unprecedented manufacturing process for the Model 2 and RoboTaxi. The only thing that can excite E like that is the full integration of Optimus into the production line. No real humans on the line. Different versions of Optimus such as stationary, mobile, one hand and the other a tool, etc. All using end-to-end AI. What better way to showcase nearly everything Tesla is good at.
