When they do an extreme version there won't be any need for a gaming PC anymore. Ideally it would be great if they had a large gaming monitor & console combo so you can switch between the two. Or a docking system attached to a souped up external GPU.
The first one xplayer has been the best IMO for a long time despite the Intel chip. I think One netbooks didn't take a serious update missing the chance to add oculink or a newer screen. Probably there will be something better soon, hopefully an X1 with this chip.
the wattage profile is pretty awesome between games based on graphics demand.....gyro seems more useful for flying/racing, how the Legion Pro dealt with FPS aiming seems pretty cool (swear im not a paid actor)
I have this device I like it a lot. One problem I’m having is driver compatibility issues. It seems to crash when ever. It’s running windows update sometimes and I also found that it would crash while downloading steam games and it would crash and freeze while watching videos and fullscreen on a browser. I found a fix for the browser related crashes. I disabled MPO overlay I disabled hardware acceleration. I had to force my browser to stop using it that solved browser related crashes of the device. However, I still have crashes and freezes although they’re Less frequent. I reinstalled the OS three times and updated all drivers. Not sure what to do. AMD needs to make better drivers for this device. It seems to have issues issues with the RNA three graphics.
Es como la OneXplayer X mini solo que un poco más pequeña y sin el puerto Oculink. Hasta ahora creo que la OneXfly es la más equilibrada lo único que le hace falta es tener una pantalla con refresco variable.
Feels like ROG ally , and lenovo legion are charging us more money for their brand names , so I refused to buy 1 from them. Ayaneo ,steamdeck , and onex player are likely the best value options. Charging us based on their production costs ,and not extra on the brand names 👌.
This thing is awesome! I would love to see 120hz, brighter screen, oculink, and 9inch screen on next one! After playing with ally and x1 it needs faster refresh and brighter screen/slightly bigger screen. Aaaand controllers with extra buttons like x1. Better fan controls omg lol is what it needs.
It looks awesome for sure, but if you're thinking about adding an egpu to this, you may want to rethink your life choices. For less money, you can get a decent phone, a decent mini desktop, and a controller and use moonlight/sunshine to connect the phone and desktop.
I have Lenovo ThinkPad P16s AMD Gen 2 laptop with a Ryzen 7 7840U (just the onboard RDNA 3 780M) - the APU a gen behind this one featured in this video. Amazing piece of silicon imo. This looks like an amazing handheld - even if it is a hefty one.

Completely Understand, With the Steam Deck Oled coming in a a much lower price and the ROG Ally on sale all the time its hard to justify the price. And Yes the color. Every time i see it i think Halloween.
This thing is so huge, but it still uses these small switch type thumb sticks. This point alone is why the steam deck to me is the best of these type of handhelds.
Questions: 1. Can it play PS1 Game? In what format? ISO? 2. Can it play PS2 Game? In what format? ISO? 3. Can it play SNES ROMs? 4. How do you install game? Does it had to be purchase or any ISO/ROM archive found online are ready to go? I'm looking for a handheld device that can play those game... with ease of installation & running smoothly... I used to Own a Jailbreak PS3 that can run all SNES, PS1 & PS2 games... but it must be create through PKG, which is not hard at all. I was able to create everything... but sadly, now it's broken... and new console, run on a different firmware & software, so I wasn't unable to install any of those hacked games anymore.
honestly at this point i've been happy enough with my steamdeck that i'll wait for the gen 2 steamdeck. hopefully it has 32gb ram (at least as an option) along with up to 4tb of internal storage (games be waaaay too big these days)
5 volt battery with 3mA is 15w tdp 5x4=20w, 5v x 5mA is 25w tdp and a 6 mA 5v battery has 30wats tdp which is on most devices adjustable ... Lenovo legion go has a cca 5000mAh battery with 15 wats tdp wireles to 25w tdp maybe in dreams or with a very simple game...and they said somehing about 30w tdp but with everything on max performance runing those wats of tdp goes not only to gpu, cpu but to the whole machinery runing high and hot.... so maybe the same result will apply as if you were playing it on 15w tdp medium to low performance option.....
I think the Go is still better, the controllers just do more. This would be a good ROG alternative though, but it's still missing additional mappable buttons.
like the reviews @ETAPrime- but hopefully a constructive bit of feedback- reading through a long list of specs that you put up on the video is not really watchworthy - what would be great is if you could pick on the highlights form the list - for example the APU, or what is missing (ports etc compared tot he other devices in the class.and spend the time elaborating just that - ie where the differences are for that piece of kit, the why not the what so much - so that the viewer can gain a sense as to how there might be interest in this product over say competitor. another example could be to highlight the real world impact that the change has by suggesting this for a lead in to the later parts of the vid- ie benchmarking- anyway my 2c - and I do enjoy the vids nonetheless.

@@onetruebrick "z2 extreme" based on 8840u would give you 0 fps boost. Dude that chip is the same as 7840u. Same amount of cores, threads, clock speed, cache and still radeon 780m. Releasing a new console with 0 performance boost is useless
I got the original oneXplayer 2 with the 6800u and tbh I don't even use it as a handheld anymore more. I got the keyboard attachment and a portable mouse and logitech camera so now it's just a mini laptop for me. I dont even know or care where the joycons are. Still cool but considering what I paid for it, it wasn't a smart purchase. The ROG Alley quickly replaced it as my handheld pc for so many reasons. And was alot cheaper since it was $200 off during the holidays.
Would rather wait for the legion go 2. Onexplayer is and always has been expensive.
10:50. Turning of turbo boost help a lot on Ryzen APUs. The easiest way without software is reduce CPU speed in Windows power management to 99%. Now you got 99% base clock and mor power for the iGPU. It really helps at 35W CPUs.
Running Cyberpunk at 24W with Display is crazy.
That price…
ROG ALLY is the way to yo
And kegion go depends which gorm factor
Just saw the price. The performance was pretty impressive compared to my ally, but I guess I’ll just have to wait till the ally 2 comes out to upgrade. Fallout 4 performance is pretty bad and very power consuming on my ally, let alone anything newer.
They could have atleast out 120 hz screen
Handheld barely hits 60hz why 120hz?🤦🏻♂️
@@lnxextreme6275 the the fluid motion frames they can, and less graphically demanding games can, as well as all the upscaling software baked into games
@@lnxextreme6275low settings and 720 p it is more than possible
@@lnxextreme6275fortnite, cs 2.0, any indie game runs 120hz on my ally, why wouldn't you want 120? Shit even rainbow 6 siege does more than 120 but the screen caps at 120. Again, why wouldn't you want it knowing games do run at 120 on these pc handheld ?
@jponz85 Well, just a few games, though!! 🤷🏻♂️
Looks pretty nice, but that $1000+ price-tag is quite steep.
This device is not meant for a casual gamer obviously.
As it's that obvious, in 2024, any device that's meant for gaming coming with 60hz display is a crime.
no 120hz? or OLED at this price is crazy doe.
This seems really cool. I like the battery life of this and that it has 32gb of ram, definitely more headroom for shared memory. But I just bought a Legion Go a couple of weeks ago and i still play my OLED Deck a lot so I'm fine for now with handheld PCs. If i hadn't bought the LeGo i definitely would be tempted, but that price point is a bit rough.
i got mines for 759, its on sale
I really wish these companies would include VRR in their handhelds
I like having a hybrid tablet/laptop/handheld/desktop, But I'm more interested on gaming PC tablets now after seeing minisforum v3
switch 2 has got some serious competition now....
Feels like ROG ally , and lenovo legion are charging us more money for their brand names , so I refused to buy 1 from them.
Ayaneo ,steamdeck , and onex player are likely the best value options. Charging us based on their production costs ,and not extra on the brand names 👌.
Is this basically just a lower cost/power Legion Go?
This thing is awesome! I would love to see 120hz, brighter screen, oculink, and 9inch screen on next one! After playing with ally and x1 it needs faster refresh and brighter screen/slightly bigger screen. Aaaand controllers with extra buttons like x1. Better fan controls omg lol is what it needs.
they'll have those features next year or within 2 years
It looks awesome for sure, but if you're thinking about adding an egpu to this, you may want to rethink your life choices.
Can you show some Destiny 2 gameplay on this and the larger X1 Amd versions?
It seems like a decent product, but I'm not sure if I'd sink over $1000 into such a new handheld just yet. We need more reviews. Why did they make it so ugly though? I know this is subjective, but orange and black is a strange color combination, lmao
Completely Understand, With the Steam Deck Oled coming in a a much lower price and the ROG Ally on sale all the time its hard to justify the price. And Yes the color. Every time i see it i think Halloween.
finally someone thought of a detatchable keyboard and joysticks ala switch ala surface
This thing is so huge, but it still uses these small switch type thumb sticks. This point alone is why the steam deck to me is the best of these type of handhelds.
65.5 wh battery- laptop level
And display resolution - super good
So new 8840u can't do 1080p 60?
Thanks for new device always, you are the fastest reviewer of UMPC
Love the looks of this thing
Questions:
I was able to create everything... but sadly, now it's broken... and new console, run on a different firmware & software, so I wasn't unable to install any of those hacked games anymore.
yes it can, all pc and pc handhelds can
honestly at this point i've been happy enough with my steamdeck that i'll wait for the gen 2 steamdeck. hopefully it has 32gb ram (at least as an option) along with up to 4tb of internal storage (games be waaaay too big these days)
you gonna be waiting for a while, its on sale for 759 now go get one
@@draco2xx i know i'm waiting a while. i got enough games to last me at least a couple more years.
That's not volume rockers on top. Only way I can do it is through the game center or from the task bar. Unless there's another way or setting it I don't know
I’d like that and wall paper with the color changing thingy
I compared the 3dmark tests with my Surface Book 2 that has a 1060. The IGPU isn't as fast as a 1060, but it's getting close. For instance in timespy the 1060 is about 1/6th faster.
they have to made a software os just for windows handhelds like android in a shorter mobile version..... i guaranty you the performance on a faster newer adjusted OPERATING SYSTEM and UI adjustments and configurations.....ccccmon the 5v electronic and below 5A will not run better stuff just if you make a custom 999MB operating system (shotrer clearer) or symply just AI operating system
I'm exhausted with pc handhelds. I own more than 10 and for now the thrill has gone for me personally
Probably because you bought 10 of them. Just a thought.
Why 10? Makes no sense.

Prefer a thicker device with better battery, cooling and speakers, especially when there are controller pads that minimize how much you even notice.
Hi.. I though this model only has 60hz screen, but how come it reach reach beyond 60 in the test?
Asus has officially announced they will release AFM on the 25th can you please create a video explaining how to install it and do some benchmark in some games to see how it looks? I play in my rog ally baldurs gate 3 and I think that game will be very enhanced with this new feature
It's already available in AC
decent battery life, better than the steam deck oled at 15-20 Watts due to the larger battery.
If that’s true, that’s got me interested
@@christianr.5868 well it is just physics but it is true, you can check eta primes video on the oled steam deck. At 15 Watts he gets 2 hours and 10 minutes. And at 10 Watts he got 2 hours and 59 minutes. The one player 2 Pro 8840u has better battery life at 15 and 10 watts (2 hours 40 and 3 hours 55 minutes) and the same battery life at 20 watts. Though it is heavier.
@@christianr.5868 its not true dont worry
@@christianr.5868this ONEX is 60hz, the oled is 90hz. How are you still interested in this? Lol... at $1k? LMAO
@@inigosusaetaherrera4230 it is though, the steam deck oled only gets 2 hours and 10 minutes at 15 watts and 2, hours and 59 minutes at 10 watts compared to this device battery lasting 2 hours and 45 minutes at 15 watts and 3 hours and 55 minutes at 10 watts. The larger battery makes up for the lower efficency. Though still the steam deck is a better by due to the lower price if you just want to game.
Yeah. 60hz non VRR is a deal breaker for me. I'm sticking w/ the Ally X
No way in hell would I pay $1k for a damn gameboy.
It looks like great device, outside of what I would pay for handheld (gaming) device, but I would assume small production numbers make that this costs 1049USD (this is pre-order price, it will be 1399USD).
Wonder how this compares to IPad and Android tablets performance wise
good battery,good performance
Why the model name on the packaging is blurred out?
ETA would be nice to see how compares against the Naroo minipc, can you run similar benchmarks?
How well does it preform while charging and playing in terms of maintaining cooling? I'm playing on a steam deck oled but I can't really make use of it as it overheats after about a hour cuz there's to much heat and to little cooling
Similar specs to the Minisforum V3 which will hopefully be in my hands this evening.
Just wish they chose another color than the orange, or atleast gave more options, also wish the refresh rate was higher. But looking forward to see how it performs
The best handheld no one can afford, except for like those 8-9 people .
Hopefully they've fixed the ejecting sdcard slot. Had to return my Onexplayer due to that. Bit of a pain, despite the device being awesome.
Just wow
I feel these windows handhelds really need the track pads to navigate Windows. I know I use them on the steam deck for chrome and KDE. Do they convert a joystick to a mouse?
This thing is insane 1200p in fallout 4 without tons of dips, steam deck only gets like 40 at 800p
At almost 1500 regular price and almost 1100 sale price, why would one buy this over Rog Ally or Legion Go?
This looks great 😁
Great video as always. Love your content. I was planning to buy legion go. Now after watching this video not quite sure which device should i go for. Also can the joysticks be used separately like that of legion go?
I wonder when we'll get a new iGPU, the 780m has been rehashed so many times.
We need OneXfly 2 with QD-OLED screen
Just curious to know how you think would compare to the Legion GO?
i would love to see these controllers on a windows tablet 10-"13" with a 60 or 70 dedicated gpu
Hope the new rog ally will come with a 60hz that will be a game changer for the battery, and its anough for playing games tough
I had the 6800u, actually has a better screen than the ayaneo kun. Both should've been vrr 120hz or Oled. Neither can claim pro or ultimate with 69hz non vrr imo. Nice handhelds though.
