If you're on a budget I'd still go for the EOS R. It's cheaper, lighter, has a flip screen, and as he stated it is essentially the 5D Mark IV in a mirrorless body.
@@iamrjdennis If you're looking at the M50, I would go and more future proof yourself, and go with the R10. Slightly more money but it has a much bigger lens lineup which will continue to grow and is basically just picking up where the M50 is. Compared to the M lineup which is small and probably won't grow much, especially with the crop sensor R series cameras now out. But, in the end, the R10 or the M50 are both great cameras! Good luck and enjoy!!
I actually really think anyone could kill in the industry with a 5D4 for photos. Photo capabilities are not becoming exponentially better between these latest cameras. Video is a different conversation. Going from the 1DX II to the R5 was a huge leap. I’m eyeballing a c70 to pair with my R5 as well.
to be fair, people kill in the photo industry with less than the 5D4. One particular older camera that has yet to be improved upon by canon is the 5DSr. Still the best studio camera they offer with the highest and sharpest resolution. And only $1300.
@@thealivelife I'll let you know this year. We've shot hybrid (4k60 IPB Lite) for two weddings and haven't experienced any issues. I did get a warning last year, but I believe since I moved to firmware 1.5+, I haven't received any warnings/had any issues. This being said, we only shoot intermittent ~5 second video clips in conjunction w/ photos. :)
@@joenicolette for sure! Yeah, I’m normally shooting long form podcasts and interviews. I might buy another eos R which is currently my backup and use the r6 for other occasions.
Selling my Leica Q to get an R5. I love it but keep getting asked to do shoots the camera isnt suited for. I appreciate the ruggedness of nikon and canon but ill sure miss my Leica as its the Aston Martin of my gear closet….
This was timely.. just sold my R last week. Had it for a few years, loved it. (R is a very solid camera and will do most things for most people) Looking to step up my camera to pair with my RED. Debating between R3, R5, or R6.
If you get the R5 over the R3, you can use the price difference on an atomos ninja and rigging accessories to fill in the specification gaps - while sustaining superior photo resolution when needed and keeping that bulk down a tad for travel. But that R3 shutter is Lightning fast too...but I've never felt slowed down by my R5 in the slightest either.
@@smakujem3966 I love my R6 but ya started overheating in the summer and now that you mention it I did have some weird issues with the Ninja. Otherwise it's a fantastic camera especially for real estate which is what I do mostly.
@@PleasantsProductions Canon should just realese some mode like in R5 that will not overheat in 4k. I don't like fhd from R6. I've checked your channel btw, nice quality!
I’m about to watch this, like now.. I just bought the R5 C, I’ve yet to really dive in and use it. It’s a step up from my 5DMiii. I sold a handful of cameras to justify the purchase w rf glass. I’m still hanging on to my Leica MP, Canon EOS3, Mamiya RZ67ii, and box of Olympus XA’s.
I've seen reviews of the canon x200 vs canon c70, and the c200 renders skin tones a lot better it looks like. c70 has more of a reddish look? still waitng on the canon c200 mark ii to come out

Great and informative video on your process to getting here! Love it. Also the colour on this is awesome, both y'all's eyes are poppin!

I'm a college student, currently saving up for the Canon M50! The EOS R is definitely next on my wishlist, haha! 😊

Been watching a lot of gear videos I appreciate the different take
Thanks for watching!!

Love that the c100 mark ii is still being talked about. We will forever be linked because of that camera… among other things 😂
You two are definitely the same height. Glad this was finally cleared up.
Nah, sorry Steven was actually sitting on a few books.
Do you reckon it’s worth picking up a c200 in 2023?
Love. I'm on two R6s and I love them! Wish I had an excuse to pick up a C70 so bad! :)
patience is the name of the game!
I have an R6 and still deal with overheating in certain environments and/or time lengths. Are you guys dealing with that?

Would love a “favorite settings” for the R5 for video and stills. Just picked up the R5 and loving it!
Also went from the 5Diii to the R :)
Nice. What camera/lens combo did you film this video with?
It’s really cool you guys were able to move your YouTub video set to the set of “I’m thinking of ending things” 😂

The EOS R and C200 have been my perfect combo 🔥🔥
Did you consider the R5c at any point?

Yes!! Luminance +2 ftw.
I owe it to the squad fam for telling me about it.

What made you go for the C70 versus the R5C?
How do you backup from the camera to the external drive?
Do the 1.6 update for the r5 asap. No more overheating
I love my R5! Switched from Sony recently. Loving it so far! I had an a7III and a FS7

Don't buy R6. Image quality is nice but overheating makes you panic on every client shoot. Also some weird problems with Atomos Ninja.

Any reason why you didn’t go with the R5C? Thanks! 👊🏼
my guess would be lacks built in nd's and poor battery life. if your going to 100% rig out the r5c then maybe.
