Main problem is that with a decent extractor the pressure drop will collapse the bottle. They are not designed for negative pressure!
Absolutely, I even managed to collapse a plastic barrel with my humble vacuum. This simply won’t work as is the moment anything gets clogged or the nozzle sucks itself onto the floor/surface.
How did you confuse the dust to go down to the bucket instead of going up to the source of the vacuum?
Secondly, why is this better than just vacuuming it directly into the shop vac?
Thanks to the spiral-shaped air flow formed inside the bottle, the dust is collected below.
When you clean the dust directly with a vacuum cleaner, the vacuum cleaner bag fills up very quickly and becomes clogged, so dust extraction systems are used in workshops.
A lot of designs for this, usually referred to as a cyclone separator, most using 1 tube in, and 1 tube out, of the collection bucket. It extends the life and decreases the maintenance of the vacuum filter (filter gets almost no dust), and can increase the capacity of the vacuum (only limited by the size of the bucket or other containers used, this might even work on a large garbage can), but has the downside of having an additional container with the vacuum (better for stationary or cart mounted vacs) and a little loss of suction pressure (from the longer path).
The airflow is pulled in a spiral inside the clear plastic bottle - as the air spirals, the heavier dust separates from the air and drops to the bottom and into the bucket, the lighter mostly clean air gets pulled out of the top.
I like this design because you can see the dust as it comes into the clear chamber, but am skeptical the bottle opening to the bucket wouldn't get clogged.
It’s great so you don’t have to empty out the main vac, if you’re planning to transport it out faster than you would use the bucket, it’s hectic to empty out the main vac

I’ve used a cyclone for years with fairly heavy sawdust. They do work and save you from replacing burnt out shop Vacs routinely due to dust clogging them.

I like the video but Really? I've seen multiple sources for Cyclone dust collectors on Amazon for $35 and less. Alot of work using a flimsy plastic bottle would make me think twice. Especially in my busy shop.

5 seconds in you show crosscutting using a miter gauge and the offcut piece is between fence and blade. This is a recipe for kickback if the offcut piece tilts a bit between fence and blade. I suggest putting a spacer block against the fence and behind the blade so that there is a gap between the offcut and the fence. The spacer can be held with double sided tape, a regular clamp. Or an auxiliary fence clamp.

На мой взгляд, бутылка не достаточно жёсткая что бы ее не раздавило вакуумом.
То же самое можно сказать и про ведро. Если пылесос хорошо тянет, то если только заткнуть трубу, все это сомнется мигом

Hey Maker. Now that is the coolest. I could have used this last week. I had to drill some holes in my cement shop floor and I was out of shop vac bags. So I pointed the exhaust of my shop vac at the door and sucked up the cement dust. Most of it went out the door, but I still had a mess to clean up. I thanks you for this gizmoe. Muchachos ... es mucho mas sencillo ... cuando el saco estara lleno ... solo cortar el saco a la parte de abajo para vaciar y luego doblar el saco 2 veces pillandolo con 3 - 4 tornillos pequeños para quedarse cerrado. Al llenarse solo quitas los tornillos para vaciar poniendo otra vez los tornillos despues de vaciar. Es muy muy muy sencillo. Estoy usando el mismo saco de unos 4 años ... en condiciones de obra como carpintero. Para usar en casa ... les durara toda la vida un tan solo saco
