      "If we invented tele-portion [sic]" You don't need teleportation for Chinese food; just pick up the phone and order it from a local restaurant. Teleportation would make takeout food prohibitively expensive.

    If we had teleportation, it would be highly governmentalized: restricted to airports and certain, secret government locations (such as emergency organ donations, high profile criminals, a country's artwork and artefacts, etc.). Airports would have to pay government fees, manufacturer royalties, and charge higher than the business class ticket. There may be possible government info to fill out before being allowed to travel via teleportation. The governments of the world would NOT get rid of their current transportation, but teleportation would be exclusive to the rich and if you want to waste all your money on a one-way ticket. There would also be a release waiver, just in case your molecules get screwed with someone or something, so your family cannot blame the government if you do die in the process. My 2 cents.

      The Infographics Show *IF* I could use teleportation I'd use it as the *Cheapest* way to send gifts or a greeting card or a letter to someone. I could just teleport left over food I got carried away with buying at the Supermarket to someone I know so it doesn't go to waste or I could use teleportation to give the leftovers from last night's meal to a homeless person by using an app on my phone. *IF* I could be rest assured that it was safe to use on living beings I'd use it to make more use of my time and I wouldn't *EVER* be in a fustraighting position of not being able to buy something I need for myself or someone else from Amazon USA website that I can't get anywhere else when the item is restricted to only being sent to a U.S. address. As you mentioned long distance relationships would be a thing of the past. I could *Finally* get to meet and trial-date my social media crush known as loosebricks on Twitter owner of the RUclips channel "Life is good make it better" . 🍜🎁🌏💻💌💘👣👨‍🚀

      @herlofrumfragi4361 6 лет назад +44

      A car can be abused to kill people, doesn't mean the car shouldn't have been invented. The negative effects of teleportation would easily be outweight by all of the positive effects.

    • @dontlosetodoubttm709
      @dontlosetodoubttm709 6 лет назад +21

      Not4Ucrafter teleportation shouldn't be compared with a car because I could run over someone but I'll end up in jail. However, someone could teleport in your house and steal shit without you knowing, and also I can think over a 1000 ways people can kill you and get away with it. Just way more I can say but I dont wanna write an essay

    • @PurblePlacecomm2

      DontLoseToDoubt TM you can run over someone and succesfully escape, so your arguement isn’t logical.

    • @herlofrumfragi4361
      @herlofrumfragi4361 6 лет назад +5

      DontLoseToDoubt TM I can break into your house and steal all your stuff, and then leave, if I'm quiet, you wouldn't realize it, too. Also, if I hear that, I call the cops and they teleport to me and lock you up. Just because everything would be more efficient, doesn't mean only bad peeps would benefit from that.

    • @dontlosetodoubttm709
      @dontlosetodoubttm709 6 лет назад +2

      Not4Ucrafter ik that bad stuff alone won't happen but the comment section focuses on the positive without thinking about the negative. How would the police find the thief if their from another country and so forth. Let's not ignore the fact that people would abuse it.

    They would probably be large devices in fixed locations traveling to fixed locations. More likely you would have to travel to your local teleporter, get teleported to some regional hub, transfer to a different regional hub, then to the local teleporter in the remote location you want to get to.

    Teleportation would have to be very expensive for two main reasons: to keep out crime and monetary gain. What the crime part means is that teleportation would make things like robbing banks and fleeing scenes a lot easier. The chances are that criminals are not very rich, which is why they do crimes. The monetary part is that it would put a lot of travel companies out of business. So it would have to be stationary or super expensive so those companies wouldn’t die.

    One thing not mentioned in the video during the part talking about, "work in China, meet a friend in Mexico for lunch," That is the problem of time zones. There is, I think, an 11 hour difference between Bejing and Mexico City, so if you wanted to meet at 1pm Bejing time it would be midnight in Mexico City. You would need to find a 24 hour place to eat and one of you might be having supper depending on where the other comes from.

    you do make an INTERESTING point, what happens to our "souls" or basically "who we are"-would that follow us to the new destination if humans ever figure out how to teleport a human body? Im pretty sure if the body is not reconstructed PERFECTLY, then our "souls" probably wont be able to reconnect with the body. And with so many people teleporting,would the right souls end up in the right bodies?weird stuff to think about i guess. nice job on the video

    There are two questions. 1 Where are you going to get that energy (the Doc Brown Question)? 2. Would it be you (the Ship of Theseus Paradox) assuming you don't get duplicated then what? I agree with Doctor McCoy. "No. I signed aboard this ship to practice medicine, not to have my atoms scattered back and forth across space by this gadget."

    Even in Star Trek, usage of Teleporters are limited. In an episode of Deep Space Nine, Sisko's father was recalling his son's first month at Starfleet Academy. For the first month Sisko used all his credits to teleport back home for dinner, and then once he got use to being away from home, he stopped. Therefore even if teleportation maybe possible, the cost/energy, of the travel is not. Even with near limitless energy, there is still a limit of energy produced at any given time.

    About the negative effects (ignoring everything else about the actual feasibility of teleportation):
    - New technology putting people out of business is something humanity has encountered countless times before
    - Border crossing and security concerns are the same as when air travel was invented. You just implement more government regulations. Air travel is pretty easy and cheap but it is still heavily regulated by governments. The same could be done with teleportation.

    a group of scientists have created something similar to teleportation, a machine was invented that, when used, would take the molecules that that form object apart, move to another location via special wiring, then put the object together again. they have tested it on Apple's so far and have been successful, however, if done to a living thing like a human, it would kill them. in a way it would basically rip you apart on a VERY small scale, them mush you back together. for example, if cut off some ones head and the reattach it, the person is still dead. so yah, until we find another way of working this technology, it could be used, at the most, for item delivery. imagine ordering something on your computer and just going outside and taking it out of the mail box, amazing.

    exploration would be much easier for sending a remote vehicle to scout out locations for colonization. There would also be possible duplications made for mass production of populations or items in demand. The teleportation tech could also make items with unique structures that could not be made by current ways of making items if adjusted to not make exact same as before.

    If this type of teleportation existed, I would think there would be a major flaw...Once your dematerialized, you're dead. Just dead. It's like making a copy of a file then deleting it, it stops existing. The rematerialized you would step out like you, but you're memory would end and the new you would be right where you left off, just before dematerialization. I believe to a type of teleportation to work, we should look further into harnessing and creating Einstein Rosin bridges'.

    Let us not forget about potential and kinetic energy, if you're in geo stationary orbit and "beam" down to the surface of a planet that potential energy has to go somewhere usually in the form of heat so every time you beam down there should be a thermonuclear-like heat release. Also if you're in geosynchronous orbit I'm guessing your space ship is going tens of thousands of kilometers a hour, if you beam down (and not be burnt to a crisp) you should materialize still goin many thousands of kilometers an hour. Both of those could cause a problem, don't know just saying.

  • @squidwardtortellini362

    Actually deconstructing and then reconstructing the body would be one of the worst ways to achieve teleportation, if even possible. For one, it would be dangerous, as it could be severely messed up. Also, it would take a massive amount of computing power to perfectly reconstruct a human body.A much more likely possibility is taking your location, and your destination, and bending them together through the fourth dimension. You would then walk through the fourth dimension, and get to your destination instantly.

  • @futurist1399

    Even if we don’t use it to teleport humans, it will still change the world dramatically in terms of technology.
    Imagine your phone has a built in teleporter that connects the phone to the charger at all time, we would never have to plug in our phones to charge it because it’s been charging all the time. Also, imagine a computer with only the display which you can take with you wherever you go, all the cables and boxes are in your home storage and are connected to that display through teleportation. Amazon could manufacture mini-teleporters and lets people trade objects within seconds.
    If teleportation is available, technology will definitely make our life even easier.

  • @Silverfirefly1
    @Silverfirefly1 6 лет назад

    The more practical goal would be ultra high resolution blueprints of individuals down to the atom, with personalities and memories having been digitised down to the neurone. Only data needs to be sent, with appropriate printing and imprinting technology.
    If this is achievable, a physical body would already have become optional as it is dependant on singularity technology, if not culture. A fully accurate clone may be desirable but not necessary as a range of cheaper default forms will be available for shorter interactions with the real world.
    Death and travel and alive and real will take on new meanings when your backups make you immortal.
    Also, yes, teleportation is murder.

    Quantum teleportation does not actually teleport anything. It is the process by which an entangled pair of quantum particles are formed, one half of the particles are read, and then that information is sent to another location via normal radio waves. This then allows the second station to know the quantum states of those which remain at the first station.
    Mostly, this is useful in providing encryption keys for secure communication - such as between Chinese military satellites, which is what they were testing.
    Nothing actually teleport, and nothing moves between the two points other than normal radio transmissions.

    One problem would teleportation would be the security of any expensive items or even the massive vaults that banks and the military have that are to keep valuables safe. A robber could go into a museum after dark with teleportation and steal the most valuable item and get away to somewhere no-one would know. Just my thoughts on the matter

    Fun fact: The line "Beam me up, Scotty" was never said by any character in Star Trek. It's a prime example of the Mandela effect.

    This is just my take. But it might be possible for us to create a portal to somewhere over teleporting. If we create wirmholes all over the planet similar to airports that would accomplish this, the only other effect is that people still need to drive around to these places.

    I don't think transportation companies etc would go out of business per se. They'd just pivot into controlling the teleportation. Just put a line of re-trained people somewhere with a bunch of teleportation pads and you'd tell them where you'd like to teleport to and they'd send you off Star Trek-style. Same thing with courier companies. Drop it off at the office and THEY'D deal with teleporting it to where ever. Just like now.
    EDIT: Also I think in houses, you'd only be able to accept teleported packages from major courier companies and not actual people. Teleported people would go to local transport hubs and walk home or something. So that whole stealing/robberies being made easier is blown way out of proportion....

    We could probably make a system where you can only teleport to specific places that are guarded by police, army, etc.

    You need a transporter room one at least one end. If it ever did come to be it'll be point to point. You would arrive at your transport location get security screened. Then teleport to the other location and go through security again. Airports would probably be converted to transport locations.

    I would never want to teleport even if we had the technology, because teleportation is death. It may be you on the other end, but it is a copy, even if it's using the same atoms that originally made up your body. You can't not exist, then re-exist. It's not like blinking from one place to another from your perspective. Once you are broken down, the original you is dead. That is the end of your life. Then a snapshot of you, is reconstructed on the other end.
    Let's say a teleportation snapshot was taken of you without deconstructing the original you. So you're transmitted across the planet, but the original you is still right there at the starting point. The original you doesn't need to be destroyed, for it to be a copy. Just because you're broken down before teleportation, doesn't mean the person on the other end isn't a copy. And that's why teleportation is death.
    So you want to go on vacation and take a teleporter? You're not going on vacation, you're dying while a copy of you goes on vacation. You are killing yourself so a copy of you can have experiences you won't.

    What if, instead of "everybody gets to teleport," there are teleportation "waypoints"? They be used almost exclusively for international travel (larger countries can have a few), and that would basically get rid of the need for air- and water-craft to deliver goods. But that would also be more of a wormhole type thing, not necessarily teleportation.

    Idk why, but this method of teleportation scares me, if it dissasembles then reassembles you are you still you? Would it be like being cloned? When youre ripped apart at the molecular level would you be dead then put back together and alive? Such a scary technology

    I don’t think other forms of transportation would go out of business because teleportation would have to consume a great amount of energy so putting a teleported every place as you make it seem would be very impractical that structuring them like airports but would be more ideal

    Teleportation would quickly be adapted for military purposes and expanded to move heavy military equipment. Who would need an aircraft carrier if you can equip a fighter jet to teleport on target, strike and teleport out? Or just teleport the bomb to the target. No point on Earth would be safe. Its a good thing we don't have the energy source to do it.

    downsides (not being a pessimistic but)
    teleporting spiders, what if that just happens? you never know?
    what if at one point at the exact very location, 2 or more people relocate there? theyd be inside each other?
    yeah the list goes on, guess the better we could benefit from an object or a thing, the worse its consequences may be

  • @blackbirdfrost

    My big concern is that ripping your atoms apart and reconstructing them at another location would essentially be killing you, then building a clone of you someplace else. It wouldn't be ~YOU~ on the other end, it would be your clone!
