Have not been able to pool test it just yet as the range needs quite a long pool haha but from accuracy testing in the ocean it is dead accurate with no recoil. I will add another update once I’ve had a pool test
Hey mate, I’m building basically the exact gun except for a single mannysub and an optional kicker band for blue water as a 120 is my every day gun. Did you have to add any ballast to the muzzle or handle as iv heard the barrels can be very floaty. Thanks
Great question! Wood actually once fully built has a maintained buoyancy meaning there is no air inside it, a carbon fibre tube on the other hand will, this means it’s a little more tedious to use the carbon fibre as you need to balance it at a certain depth, anything above and it floats anything below and it sinks where wood is generally very neutral. However, the reason I went with carbon fibre barrel is that parts are more readily available for quick fixes over time and it doesn’t need to be sanded and recoated over time either.
@@ImpactZoneSpearfishing cool thanks for the info ... one more question if you will.. im pretty much a beginner and i got a beginner speargun made of some sort metal ( aluminum ) and feels really crappy though i already nailed a few fish on first dive. can i just order one carbon from you guys and just grow with it and get better or is it too soon? i do mainly lakes..what size do i need, can it include the spear with 2 floppers and reel ? thanks so much
David Rosen hey mate, I used a aluminium gun for 4 years, plenty of time to get used to doing it and make mistakes on a cheaper gun. The real use of wood and carbon over aluminium is the strength to throw heavier spears and punch harder. If you haven’t got the need to do that (sounds like you’ve got it covered) you shouldn’t really need it. The lighter aluminium barrels can throw spears really quick which can help with shooting smaller fish.
Hey man, do you know what's the diameter of the male end of the salvimar handle. I've been looking at the salvimar metal handle but can't find any dimensions anywhere. Cheers love the gun by the way.
Thank you!! Been looking for something like this
Mate you just need a Rob Allen Tuna Railgun, it’ll get the job done every time 😂👍
Sick!!! Now to see it in action. Keen!
Nice looking gun.
That's sick
Nice gun! Have you had a chance to pool test the gun? How’s the accuracy and is it consistent?

How has the OBD barrel held up? Did you make any further mods to your set up?
So far so good, hasn’t gotten much use lately due to unsuitable conditions but big plans in the near future!!
