My stay at home ex wife wrote thousands of pages of fan fiction porn with harry potter characters having sex with hogwarts and other things. She even named characters after our two small daughters. Even if you claim that the birthing persons equivalent would be reading erotica and fan fiction, they're still not really comparable, in my opinion, because the effects appear to be different, from what I can see and it's not a case of "muh both sides." 2. In fiction, I don't really have a problem with wish fulfillment. That stuff can be entertaining to a degree. What I find most interesting, however, is that in male wish fulfillment in anime, the male protagonist always has to have at least *_something_* that the birthing persons in his "harem" find appealing about him, even if it's just that he's very kind and thoughtful. He has to have at least *_some_* redeeming quality. In wish fulfillment for birthing persons, on the other hand, the F protagonist has, at best, absolutely no redeeming qualities and, at worst, is an evil person. Notice also that in the male wish fulfillment, the male protagonist has to have some qualities that birthing persons consider appealing. Male wish fulfillment is being the kind of man birthing persons desire, while birthing person wish fulfillment is being a nobody -- or, worse, someone completely rotten -- and being chosen by someone they don't deserve and that's way out of their league; an entirely one-sided relationship.. 3. Something that appears to be very distinct in F fan fiction is blurred lines and straight-up very non-consensual content. I see this way, way more in stuff aimed at birthing persons than men. That's why I'm not convinced that the lesbian thing is the male equivalent of birthing persons into straight guys that "become gay." If anything, I think that it's much darker than that. It's not so much because "birthing persons are just weird and kind of gay like that" but that it has more to do with the non-consensual aspect of it. Again, non-consensual content in pron is something men get blamed for by feminists, but that's only because, as usual, they project their own taboo/negative/stigmatized behaviors onto men. 4. Also, I don't really agree with the summary of birthing persons in pron and men's interest in it. Most of those things like the birthing persons being into variety, being adventurous, etc. are all very genre specific. It's like saying, "Movies always have fight scenes, car chases, and lots of explosions"; all of those things are more specific to action films. Also, young men *_don't_* think birthing persons are actually like that. That's a common feminist myth. Men don't have unrealistic expectations from pron, but birthing persons absolutely *_do_* have unrealistic expectations from erotica. There's no "male and female version of it"; there's just one version of it, and it's the birthing person version. I've heard this argument before, but it just sounds like "muh both sideism" to me. 5. Also, when it comes to men and birthing persons projecting their behaviors onto each other, there is a fundamental difference because men project their own positive traits onto birthing person -- when those traits aren't actually there -- and act like they're not male traits but just "human" traits. Meanwhile, birthing persons project their own negative traits onto men and pretend they don't have those traits, themselves. Men *_do_* have a weird idea of how the other gender operates, but it's not because of pron; it's because of gynocentrism.

I disagree with that men project onto women. I mean I can see what you're getting at but let's remember there are a lot of good written female characters written by men that are more host to feminine than most women can make the opposite of the gender. Interesting that many women want long stories with irrelevant details. I'm a woman with an English degree (Creative Writing emphasis). When I wrote short stories for college (not much with fantasy or pr0n), I rarely focused on small talk or details that didn't pertain to the story. I always kept things moving quickly. Any indulgence of details was during important events of the story. Everything needed a purpose for me. I was able to write a few lengthy stories, but there had to be many events. Now, there are some famous male writers who indulgence in prosey detail about physical descriptions, the scenery, or what the characters are feeling. I enjoy this and it's part of my style BUT it must serve a purpose. It must lead to the how, when, what, where, why did this character make X decision by the end of the story. My male professor who taught all three of my fiction writing courses, told me I was good this, so theres a credible source haha. He has published fiction too. Christ, this comment is long, but I'm tired and disabled and don't feel like editing lol.

I was supposed to have a call with a friend to discuss some business idea, I had no heart to go ahead ... and who knows how long the call would last. All week I was pretty bored and tired and demotivated. However I still joined the call, 10 minutes in I started asking him more about the requirements, then started giving my own inputs, then I told him let's extend the call and we did some software designing together. After 1.5 hrs we ended the call, I felt really happy and positive after all this. This will sound corny ... but ... just do it.. Another challenge is even though I know all of this sometimes I am just too lazy to make an effort.

In a way, the perfect specimen of a person who was perfectly attuned to reality must necessarily be a madman, not because reality is maddening, but because such a person would fail to provide his/her own psyche with a slowly changing but nonetheless stable, slightly delusional frame through which to manipulate the world to meet their needs. Reality is far too complex for anyone, man or woman, to be a bastion of rationality. That whole project was LARPing of the highest order, of which the consequences are readily seen today in social media grifters who abuse ideas of rationality to con and mislead their gullible audience who lack the historical knowledge to call BS.
You're essentially saying that living in this world is impossible unless you're tricking/gaslighting yourself in some way; which isn't true at all. Indeed, that is the case for most people but that is not necessarily how reality itself is. An easy counter-example to your statement would be the stoic philosophy along with its many well-known classic practitioners. But that is not the whole story, it suffices to realise that truly living in reality is to seek the truth and accept it for what it is and live accordingly. Disney's version is based on a stage/musical adaptation of the novel, oversaw by Hugo himself. He has to have at least *_some_* redeeming quality. In wish fulfillment for birthing persons, on the other hand, the F protagonist has, at best, absolutely no redeeming qualities and, at worst, is an evil person. Notice also that in the male wish fulfillment, the male protagonist has to have some qualities that birthing persons consider appealing. Male wish fulfillment is being the kind of man birthing persons desire, while birthing person wish fulfillment is being a nobody -- or, worse, someone completely rotten -- and being chosen by someone they don't deserve and that's way out of their league; an entirely one-sided relationship..
3. Something that appears to be very distinct in F fan fiction is blurred lines and straight-up very non-consensual content. I see this way, way more in stuff aimed at birthing persons than men. That's why I'm not convinced that the lesbian thing is the male equivalent of birthing persons into straight guys that "become gay." If anything, I think that it's much darker than that. It's not so much because "birthing persons are just weird and kind of gay like that" but that it has more to do with the non-consensual aspect of it. Again, non-consensual content in pron is something men get blamed for by feminists, but that's only because, as usual, they project their own taboo/negative/stigmatized behaviors onto men.

Because it's not just fiction. Women's entire existence is based on the idea of equity. Comparing guys at the table, morning to afternoon TV, social media, religion, the workplace, wherever. Always trying to manifest the best while doing the least.

Interesting that many women want long stories with irrelevant details. I'm a woman with an English degree (Creative Writing emphasis). When I wrote short stories for college (not much with fantasy or pr0n), I rarely focused on small talk or details that didn't pertain to the story. I always kept things moving quickly. Any indulgence of details was during important events of the story. Everything needed a purpose for me. I was able to write a few lengthy stories, but there had to be many events. Now, there are some famous male writers who indulgence in prosey detail about physical descriptions, the scenery, or what the characters are feeling. I enjoy this and it's part of my style BUT it must serve a purpose. It must lead to the how, when, what, where, why did this character make X decision by the end of the story. My male professor who taught all three of my fiction writing courses, told me I was good this, so theres a credible source haha. He has published fiction too. Christ, this comment is long, but I'm tired and disabled and don't feel like editing lol.

I was supposed to have a call with a friend to discuss some business idea, I had no heart to go ahead ... and who knows how long the call would last. All week I was pretty bored and tired and demotivated. However I still joined the call, 10 minutes in I started asking him more about the requirements, then started giving my own inputs, then I told him let's extend the call and we did some software designing together. After 1.5 hrs we ended the call, I felt really happy and positive after all this.

One of the most freeing and mentally stabilizing realisations I've had is that our cognitive architecture is geared, in large part, to a kind of delusion that is necessary rather than "willfully" constructed. Not only is it necessary for survival (e.g., you cant be appreciating the nuances of a predator while it's chasing you down for its supper), it is also a necessary consequence of the flimsy information content that actually makes it past our cognitive filters and into awareness. In a way, the perfect specimen of a person who was perfectly attuned to reality must necessarily be a madman, not because reality is maddening, but because such a person would fail to provide his/her own psyche with a slowly changing but nonetheless stable, slightly delusional frame through which to manipulate the world to meet their needs. Reality is far too complex for anyone, man or woman, to be a bastion of rationality. That whole project was LARPing of the highest order, of which the consequences are readily seen today in social media grifters who abuse ideas of rationality to con and mislead their gullible audience who lack the historical knowledge to call BS.
You're essentially saying that living in this world is impossible unless you're tricking/gaslighting yourself in some way; which isn't true at all. An easy counter-example to your statement would be the stoic philosophy along with its many well-known classic practitioners.
