The relationship between men and women has always been complicated but there is one area where women don't really need men and it is not the one you think it is.

The lesson is that men need women for love and affection , they can’t get that from other men ( unless they are gay or bisexuals . But women can get love and affection from other women . So it is true that women want men but don’t need them on an interpersonal level .
I freed myself from this conundrum when I realized that women are not capable of feeling the kind of selfless love and devotion which I once sought from them. You can never experience that from a woman, at best you can only labor under the false belief that you are in such a relationship until she dissolves it.

Define "love". Human connection exists, gender independent. Has nothing to do with physical attraction. Human connection is what protects you when the relationship goes south. It supersedes instincts. If you rely on instincts only it's transactional. The only lesson I had to learn was the prevalence of transactional relationships vs true human connection, but it follows the pareto principle. Should have anticipated that.

Before that, most people were so poor, being materialistic wasnt really an option for 99% of people. Then, community and cooperation within that community is all you have to stay alive.

Nowadays, only 6.5 men in a thousand get married due to the following scenario: (1) man gets married, (2) wife refuses to have sex, (3) wife racks up huge credit card debt, (4) wife stops contributing financially, (5) wife stops cooking & cleaning, (6) wife cheats on husband, (7) wife files for divorce and takes the house, cars, savings, and kids, (8) wife falsely accuses husband of abuse and he no longer can see his kids, (9) wife poisons kids against the father. What man in his right mind will sign up for this?
If the courts were overhauled and women did not win a complete victory and windfall by marrying, why would THEY ever do it? They can use the government to seize whatever they want from men collectively, they've got no incentive to play house anymore.

My wife dumped me almost 30 years ago now. It is true that I suffered more emotional trauma from it than she did - for about the first two weeks. At that point, I slowly began to realize that this was the best thing that had ever happened to me. I never got married again and haven't even dated for decades. This has been the best time of my entire life. Meanwhile, my ex has had at least two more husbands after me, which indicates that things have not gone exactly as she planned. Oh well.
This is the point. It is always worse for them but they never realize it and they deny reality super hard to justify it to themselves.
More or less a person who leeches off others in such a way will never be happy without the self sustained independence that would have kept them from doing that behaviour in the first place.

Point is made loud and clear, after 8 years of not being touched or looked at by a woman the message is crystal clear. Usually transfer from one group to an interest group. e.g., if you have strong political group that advocate for your groups interests (for example a feminist lobby want to take more money from men and give to women so they would not be dependent on them) then they would push for a legislation that will tax one group (working men) money will be transfer to them (working women).
Women are finding out the hard way that being the breadwinner ain't no picnic. It means a lot of time, a lot of stress and less time for leisure activities, self-care and relationships. Feminism chained up women and freed men so now we can start to pay more attention to our health, leisure and relationships if we want to. The lifespan-gap will disappear in the next 20 years.
Mens happiness is increasing and womens happiness is decreasing. And this trend has been going on for decades. Half of them are on anti-depressants or other psycho-active medication. And thats just over the counter stuff, not counting the illegal circuit.

In the US, women are net negative tax contributors as well. Men only 'catching up' in that regard past retirement age.
It's why since the birth control pill and accelerated with online dating and social media, we've started to slowly move toward a polygnyous society. Not there yet, 70-80% of people are in monogamous relationships but it's started to move in that direction. In such a society, women only need, chase and will even share the high status, attractive men while the men beneath them engage in wealth transfer where the state requires an exchange of labour for money and then takes said money from them via tax and distributes it to women and families. It's effectively the tribal community on a macro scale.

Maybe I'm broken or something. Maybe my social need is subconscious, and I am unaware, but I enjoy being alone and get annoyed at too much contact with people. @somethinderpsterious My mother had me checked for that back in high school, and I'm on the other end of the spectrum, meaning I'm very good at subconsciously reading body language, voice tonality and intention based on context. I speak several languages fluently and don't really have issues interacting. External stimulation does not overwhelm me, and I have no preference for routine or repetitive behaviour either. So.. probably not autism.

Very, very true. I know many divorced/single women who have a gaggle of friends who they hang out with and regularly go on outings with. Not the same for the men.
Not many men have the ability to talk about inconsequential stuff for hours, something that seems to come naturally to women.
That makes them appear more sociable but they're also, very often, experts at duplicity and rivalry within friend groups.

When I was a kid (many years ago!) my sister would typically come home from school and loudly announce to the whole family that her best friend was now her worst enemy, or vice versa. You really would have needed to make a chart to keep track of who she liked and who she hated on any given day. But I never bothered to do that. 😅

The "finicky" nature of women, and their own propensity to dissolve female friendships, connects to the instability of the romantic attachments I've had in my life.
I know VERY few women who have stable long-term friendships with other women. Something usually "goes wrong" and they end up hating each other. The causes often seem petty or immaterial. Reconciliation is rare.
Similarly, none of the romantic LTRs I had back in the day really had anything significantly change (i.e. they seemed "stable"), but the girl usually got bored or tried to inject some kind of chaos and brought the thing down. Either I'd leave amid the new and unnecessary chaos, or she'd leave because things were too "consistent" and she wanted to chase new thrills.
Contrast that with my own friendships with dudes I've known for 20 years. Most men, who have stable friendships, tend to keep them almost indefinitely. Day-to-day consistency is not seen as a detractor among men.
Women are inherently chaotic. They trash their own friendships, and invest energy in finding ways to sabotage romance. They don't even reflect on this. Better to not get involved.
They don't need men per se, but they do need male attention no matter how many "intimate female friends" they have. But they get that male attention in abundance on social media. If they weren't getting that i reckon they'd fall apart psychologically.

Meh. I don't need a lot of friends. I get bored of people pretty quickly and I've been a loner for awhile and it does just get better being alone.

Birthing persons seem to have "intense" friendships, but their "friendships" are shallow and empty. Men find it difficult to form deeper friendships with other men because their friendships actually have substance, and any friendship with any real substance is going to be difficult to find. Men want someone that's actually going to have their back when they need it, where as birthing persons are fine with gassing someone else up, and having someone there so they don't look crazy talking to themselves gossiping about someone.

Finally, someone said it. I find it really amusing how men don't see the fact that women don't need us, the same way we do need them. I have heard it from women multiple times: they want to meet in their own community, without men, have a girl's workout/night/evening, whatever. That is why gyms and clubs offer women-only (or LGBTQ) events. Sure, they have a place for male companionship, but it is not something they would want all the time. Especially, when they understand that men are different, and have different needs. They also correctly understood that what they bring into a relationship is themselves. Having a hot woman is still a status symbol for us - men. This is why preselection is a thing.
IMHO, the solution is, in a way, going MGTOW, but without bitterness - this is key. If you find a girlfriend, sure - have fun, maybe even marry (at your own risk), but do not be bitter or sad. We are entering a time when relationships are very valuable, and unfortunately, like with all valuable things, are rare. Not everybody will be privileged to have one.
Another thing - men need to start creating their own communities. Mentorship, help, group achievements, running clubs, and such. This is without the idea of attracting women. This is key. I see a lot of groups being created that are aimed at attracting women or as many people as possible. I think this is because money is an issue - the groups have to make cash. But we have to solve that. We used to in the past. We had a concept, such as honor.

I have to agree with everything said here. I can't help but think that this may not be sustainable long term. Without that fuel, (validation of women) men will stagnate and things will at a bare minimum stagnate and at worst collapse completely. I don't know if technology is advanced enough to sustain itself and maintain itself long term. I guess time will tell.

Good point to bring up. I think you need to elaborate more on this topic because, objectively, it is true. Although clearly, its hard to get on our head with these years of hate. Even we still hold our ego while using our logic.
Women see other women as "competitors". Women don't see men in the same way.
In general, men thrive by tangible achievements, but women thrive by social status success. Women diminishing their friends' status, or thwarting success among their friends, is a strategy for their own social enrichment. Men don't care about social hierarchy in the same way.
I don't see Ape adequately addressing this issue. Women's friendships are not predicated on the same good-faith basis as men's friendships. Women are much happier to see their own female friends fail (e.g. bucket of crabs) as long as it entails maintaining a status quo. Men don't compete with their friends in the same way, and are much more capable of either being. at worst, dispassionate about the success of their friends, or genuinely being able to enjoy seeing friends succeed. Women tend to be more envious and spiteful - they merely disguise it in order to maintain the connections and their place in the social fabric.

The only way that the worker bee men are going to continue to care and continue to perform is if they’re doled out at least some loving at least once in a while. That’s the problem with women’s plan. They can’t completely cut those guys off and think that the guys who keep civilization afloat are going to continue to perform. They’ll do the basics in their own self-interest and nothing else. And, the number of men who are willing to sacrifice themselves in battle for a society that treats men this way I would think would continue to decrease.
