A few years ago, I discovered that I possess most of the Sigma male qualities & personality. It has helped me be more confident in my self identity as a man, my life decisions & what makes me tick. I don't like "titles" in general, yet being a Sigma male, intimidates people who are more co-dependent. I don't go out of my way to intimidate people, it just happens being me.
I disagree with you right there. There's a big difference between someone who doesn't give a damn about what others think of them. Versus a sociopath@martycmartinson Someone who doesn't give a damn learns this through trials.And tribulations in life. I've learned earlier in my twenties, which was a big benefit for me. a sociopath On the other hand is born with things completely wrong with them. Taking consideration the things they do when they're young disregarding life itself. I.E. hurting small animals as one example. If giving the opportunity they would hurt their own friends and family to benefit themselves.
@aMessIam1 You would be surprised if you have the capabilities like I acquired in my 20s. of not giving a damn. You would see a big difference as soon as you have it. That type of mentality surprising women tend to see and notice that you just don't care. Even if they see interest in you and you don't care they become more attracted to you. It's surprisingly literally women are like cats. If you chase the cat, the cat runs away from you , but if you leave it alone and ignore it, the cat comes back. To you, eventually, women are exactly the same in this regard. Women are actually more sociable than men are. Thus, they crave attention and validation in some form or another. The reason why the" bad boys" get the attention is simply because they have that." I don't care about mentality." Women like a challenge. when they notice that you aint pining over them.They get curious very quickly. Anyway, as I hope this helps, these are some of the things i've learned over the years.

A good point in normal circumstances but when used descriptively ad to forewarn some people look im this do this piss me off this eill happen. But that just might be me after coming out of a relationship where th a narcssst while I had a childhood trauma triggered which was narcissistic. But maybe that’s just me under current circumstances. A sigma male wouldn't say he is a sigma. He wouldn't care. Which means you are not one. You are posing as one to try and be interesting - which is a beta male trait.

I'm 100% Sigma, but I always felt like an Outcast !!!! I had lots of Girlfriends but I never got married or had children !!!! I never really knew why most women liked me very much !!!! But I love being on my own !!! I'm 68 years old and have my own place and 2 Dogs, and I couldn't be happier !!!! People have always not been able to understand me !!!! They think I'm very lucky but I just think before I do anything !!!! My 2 Dogs are my best friends and I don't want a Partner and I'm happy with no close friends !!!! Friends are always wanting money or want to borrow stuff and never give it back !!!! So I enjoy my stress free life and I don't regret still being single at all !!!!!
One essential trait of what makes a Sigma is that we are are deep thinkers so it’s in our best interest to weigh the effects of being genuine or not. If we choose not to be, in most cases it shows emotional maturity.

I have recently discovered that I am a sigma. One of the reasons is that I don't answer to the authority of the dating and relationship culture. I just 'am', and that works for me. Having _my_ standards instead of the _authority's_ standards keeps me safe. Timshel!

I just watched your video for the first time. I've watched many other videos on Sigms Males, and can say with confidence I'm a Sigma Male. One of the most frustrating things for me is people not understanding my personality (judging me). I look forward to watching more of your post. 😁
Ever since I started following the Lord and reading his word I am seeing that all the sigma male traits mentioned define my character exactly. God changed me from the insecure and mentally unstable person that i used to be and restored my life and character to how it should be before I was rebelling against my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The peace I have doesn't come from my self but it comes from him.
Once i heard about Sigmas, it helped me understand why i was a big outlier. Similar to the Myers Briggs, there is a spot for every personality type, and there is no single one that is best.
I think we are all of these things.. but throughout the years society kinda dictates how we should be around people. We are influenced by cinemas, we aspire to become someone else to the point that we forget to be our genuine selves.. took me years to understand this. Great video btw I'm a fan! Just learned recently that I am apparently this new category, the Sigma. I've always been the lone-wolf contemplator who doesn't care what others think. I've been known to knock Alphas down a peg when I see them picking on others. This is truly interesting and explains a lot about why I have such a small inner circle and friends list.

Hey Melannie, I am Sigma. Most people around me thought I was a pain in gluteus. Even when I was 4 years old. I will be 67 in a few days. He are a couple points, based on my extensive experience. Sigmas are NOT introverts or extroverts, they are almost perfectly even. According to my results on the Myers Briggs analysis I am almost perfectly neutral. Usually I am slightly an ENTJ, but sometimes depending on my mood, the score comes out INTJ. The next thing about Sigma is emotional reactions. It is very hard to get our pulse up. After a few repetitions working with live high voltage my pulse stopped reacting. Stock market trades of several thousand dollars does not make much difference. Meeting a very beautiful woman helps raise my pulse a little. A point you did not mention is honesty. I think most Sigmas cannot tell lies very well. We tend to despise liars. And lastly, I have heard more confessions than Father O'Malley. Both men and women just tell me things they never said to anyone else. Often someone has said to me "I don't know why I'm telling you this, but..." True Sigmas are believed to be very rare. Perhaps less than 2 percent of all males. I believe the idea of Sigma in sports is way over stated. But, one player on a baseball team is Sigma. Guess who? He's the closer, in the 9th inning. So, just give me the ball, Coach.
The Myers-Briggs profile is all spectrum based. I am big time Sigma and I peg the introvert scale on the Myers Briggs test. I balance the "NTH" fairly well. However, keep in mind introvert is not shy. It simply means we think and process internally. We read a lot, get lots if information before making a decision, ask people questions in non-judgmental ways, in order to learn about them, etc. Interesting comment on the cardio pulse. My friends at work were betting on cardio measures. They outright told me I could not play. They were right. I would have clearly taken the pot (I participated in the measurement, I just could not bet). I also hear a ton of confessions, and I did not realize that was a sigma male thing.

I think you’re right. Most people can’t believe I’m an introvert. It’s like I have a dual mode. A lot of people also tell me thinks when first meeting me. I’ve gotten used to it.
As a younger man, full of bravado (and aggression) I would have considered myself an “Alpha”, but now, as a middle aged man I very much believe I have transitioned to a Sigma - life experiences have turned me into one.

The funny this is I just leaned that there’s designated terms that suit this - Sigma & Ambivert. These two terms fit me very well, not 100%. The traits are strong. I’m turning 50 y/o, Empty-nester & starting to actually pay attention to ladies that flirt or I’m paying attention to. I’m AM taking advantage of my Salt & Pepper scruffy beard; it works. I thoroughly enjoyed my college years, excellent social life, I found a wife, I even got my degree. But casual acquaintances were puzzled to learn that instead of attending University sporting events, or joining a fraternity, I spent my time with a bunch of fabulous furry freak brothers exploring caves and climbing mountains. However, on leaving college I somehow failed to get the memo and continued to live life my own way. Predictably, I failed to achieve notable success in corporate America or anything else. It's only recently, through discussions like this, that I learned that I may have a personality type that had little interest in that life style anyway. And that my “failure” wasn’t necessarily due to a pathological condition. I am gradually learning to be comfortable with my personal goals in life, but it's a work in progress.
Paris - I am curious when the Sigma personality type description became part of the language, in the past these same personality types were described in the Myers-Brigs personality type as INTJ. It is a pretty rare personality type and you are born INTJ, you can't learn it and you can't unlearn it either. You can however learn to tone it down a bit when you marry a really good woman that can civilize the uncivilizable.
I like your advice to not put yourself in a box, no matter what the advice. I qualify as sigma and liked hearing that being introverted can be a good quality, yet I have taken charge of my life and have learned how to come out of my shell when it might benefit me. I will continue watching your videos, you seem very real, and genuine. The fact that I like looking at you because you’re drop dead gorgeous doesn’t hurt!

I never thought I would ever hear anything about my personality type. But when I heard the description if Sigma I was blown away. They are discribing ne exactly. I am 64, btw. Anyways, there are about three things that all of them are missing in general, or about me in particular. They are exceptionally candid and communicative with their partner. They are very creative. They do talk about this, but they don’t stress it as much as it should be. Third, and this is the biggie, and none of them have noticed this. Sigmas are in touch with their feminine side. That means they are balanced and are very empathetic and connect well with women, and in fact prefer conversation with women in social settings because women are more interested in important issues, whereas men typically only talk about sports.

How am I supposed to exhibit confidence when 40 women will not even go out either when it is a date or even if I ask as just friends, who are single and knew me and even my wife before she died 2 years ago and only 3 one date on my in 2 years, 40 attempts, ghosted by 15, asking twice and moving on. Its sickening. I am understanding why other widowers haven't dated in many years . women are extremely repulsed by grieving widowers. And I get lonely and then even more needy.

For all you sigma males who don't want to wade through 14 minutes of video, I looked up the list online. 1. Unresponsive to Authority 2. Happy in Solitude 3. Adapts Easily to Change 4. Treats People Equally 5. Quiet and Contemplative 6. Self-Reliant 7. Great Self-Awareness 8. Marches to His Own Beat 9. Often Mysterious or Enigmatic 10. Flirts with Danger 11. May Lack Social Skills First of all, I wouldn't say "unresponsive to authority," but rather not intimidated or bothered by it. Also, I'd say we are quiet and contemplative, but many have learned to be assertive and in control in a crowd, party, while lecturing, or speaking, etc. We adapt. We don't shy away from people because we are innately introspective. We learn how to overcome that weakness to become an introverted/extrovert. Peace, INTJs!
I was married to my high school sweetheart for 43 years. She passed away last year. I'm starting to look into dating. My problem is that I have no idea about women flirting with me. It also doesn't help that I have not had a date since We got married. I also don't have any experience flirting with women. It seems like women are not even remotely attracted to me. Am I doing something wrong?
Attractive to women? Who cares? Ignore them. Be attractive to yourself! Seek self actualization based upon your view of yourself and your accomplishments! Men need to stop basing their self image and validation on whether or not women like them, are attracted to them, find them desirable, accept them, go to bed with them, or anything. Find your validation elsewhere. We all change. We all have seasons of life and we can be much different in each season. Women , like all of us, also change as they age. The woman who loves and desires you today may feel the opposite in two months, two years, or two decades. Whatever the time period when she utters the phrase "I'm not happy!" your life as you knew it is OVER. The system gives her the power, even just on a whim, to remove you from your house, your possessions, your career, and even your children. Many women do just that. Seek peace, quiet, and freedom as a famous man I much admire has said. Seek self sufficiency and avoid marriage or cohabitation at all costs. Learn to be impervious to women and their games to entrap you. Learn the discipline to look right through them, not at them. Extra points the more attractive the woman is. Ignore her. She has no power over you unless you give it. Withhold that power. Men, do not ever take advice from women especially one younger or much younger than you with far less life experience.
Not to worry about others things is one of the easiest things in life, just realize the one fact. Other people´s opinions are neither valid nor relevant in regard to you or whatever you do. All that matter is what you think of yourself, what you do and you have to stay true to that no matter what. You will inevitably hit a lot of people on the head as they can´t handle this, there is no "compliment" manipulation possible, no sweet talk, no other vomit inducing socializing garbage to make you "agreeable". You are just who you are, others have to accept that or get lost. Which adds another layer however... or it´s just a me thing cause i am natural born loner, you just simply do not value or see much point in relationships, you kinda take what is beneficial and bugger off afterwards as they make me feel restricted and i can´t have that. Also there is never a "we" in my thought or care, i can team up with people if i consider it beneficial to do so, but never to do something i could do on my own just to have company and never am i "part" of a team or whatever. I am always an outsider by choice and like to keep distance. Another thing i genuinely have issues with is, authority, which follows in with the first point. I have to do what i have to do no matter what and other peoples opinion or thoughts on that are not relevant. That doesn´t make me good at following orders nor follow standards (only if both fall in line with that i think is best, in which i just "follow" by accident). However neither been a fan of applying rules/standards on others as i prefer people using the grey matter in their heads and get stuff down without others telling them step by step how to. One reason i am also highly annoyed by chicks with "daddy" issues.... i do not want a sub that needs me to tell her what to do in every part of life, grow up and learn to tie your own shoes or else i can´t even take you serious let alone consider you anything but obsolete. Short part, sigma´s are pure chaos in what is a rule/standard loving society, and we are alpha´s worst nightmares as they want to lead/apply rules for others but there is nothing they can do to make us follow or even care. Beta´s are confused as for them anything we do seems easy and natural but we don´t want to have them "follow" us as "groupies" and praise our every move, that is an alpha thing. Odd´s are no sigma is ever going past situationships.. it would be against their very nature and the vast majority of women (that i got to know) would ever be able to keep a sigma interested, or fit´s his way of life. However... you will attract a lot of women and even so you don´t care about most you have ample opportunity for casual fun if you so desire, just be warned a lot of chicks can´t handle you as you will not follow her expectations, neither will you give in an inch, are highly resilient to manipulation and even blackmail attempts won´t even bother you in the slightest. Existing "outside" of society, yet doing what you do and be successful doing so, you will never "feel" to be part of something/with someone and are generally pure chaos wherever you step your foot into. If you don´t have your own business but are employed then good luck, if you have a superior with any brain activity he/she will realize it´s best to let you do what you do without ever asking questions and not look to close what rules you follow or break cause doing both is part of your nature. Have a boss that tries to "get you in line"... both of you will end up bashing their heads with each other without anyone giving in an inch, you are likely to find another job as this one is restricting you and expecting the worst from you, sell out on yourself to "do" as someone else wants. Oh and one additional happy thing, you will find it hard to understand nowadays society and the addiction of many to complain/waste time over the most trivial of things (specially on social media). You are like an alien among people, the sooner you understand that the happier you will be, try not to blend in it won´t work and you will just hate yourself trying. Focus on what you want from life and pursue it, if you do that you will be a force of nature that gets forward no matter what. (you are likely to however walk over many "corpses", not literally but mentally speaking, not that you care either way. People just dislike/hate something they can neither understand, nor make to comply or get to be agreeable)

Ever since I started following the Lord and reading his word I am seeing that all the sigma male traits mentioned define my character exactly. God changed me from the insecure and mentally unstable person that i used to be and restored my life and character to how it should be before I was rebelling against my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The peace I have doesn't come from my self but it comes from him.
Once i heard about Sigmas, it helped me understand why i was a big outlier. Similar to the Myers Briggs, there is a spot for every personality type, and there is no single one that is best.
I think we are all of these things.. but throughout the years society kinda dictates how we should be around people. We are influenced by cinemas, we aspire to become someone else to the point that we forget to be our genuine selves.. took me years to understand this. Great video btw I'm a fan! Just learned recently that I am apparently this new category, the Sigma. I've always been the lone-wolf contemplator who doesn't care what others think. I've been known to knock Alphas down a peg when I see them picking on others. This is truly interesting and explains a lot about why I have such a small inner circle and friends list.

Hey Melannie, I am Sigma. Most people around me thought I was a pain in gluteus. Even when I was 4 years old. I will be 67 in a few days. He are a couple points, based on my extensive experience. Sigmas are NOT introverts or extroverts, they are almost perfectly even. According to my results on the Myers Briggs analysis I am almost perfectly neutral. Usually I am slightly an ENTJ, but sometimes depending on my mood, the score comes out INTJ. The next thing about Sigma is emotional reactions. It is very hard to get our pulse up. After a few repetitions working with live high voltage my pulse stopped reacting. Stock market trades of several thousand dollars does not make much difference. Meeting a very beautiful woman helps raise my pulse a little. A point you did not mention is honesty. I think most Sigmas cannot tell lies very well. We tend to despise liars. And lastly, I have heard more confessions than Father O'Malley. Both men and women just tell me things they never said to anyone else. Often someone has said to me "I don't know why I'm telling you this, but..." True Sigmas are believed to be very rare. Perhaps less than 2 percent of all males. I believe the idea of Sigma in sports is way over stated. But, one player on a baseball team is Sigma. Guess who? He's the closer, in the 9th inning. So, just give me the ball, Coach.
The Myers-Briggs profile is all spectrum based. I am big time Sigma and I peg the introvert scale on the Myers Briggs test. I balance the "NTH" fairly well. However, keep in mind introvert is not shy. It simply means we think and process internally. We read a lot, get lots if information before making a decision, ask people questions in non-judgmental ways, in order to learn about them, etc. Interesting comment on the cardio pulse. My friends at work were betting on cardio measures. They outright told me I could not play. They were right. I would have clearly taken the pot (I participated in the measurement, I just could not bet). I also hear a ton of confessions, and I did not realize that was a sigma male thing.

I thoroughly enjoyed my college years, excellent social life, I found a wife, I even got my degree. But casual acquaintances were puzzled to learn that instead of attending University sporting events, or joining a fraternity, I spent my time with a bunch of fabulous furry freak brothers exploring caves and climbing mountains.
However, on leaving college I somehow failed to get the memo and continued to live life my own way. Predictably, I failed to achieve notable success in corporate America or anything else.
It's only recently, through discussions like this, that I learned that I may have a personality type that had little interest in that life style anyway. And that my “failure” wasn’t necessarily due to a pathological condition.
I am gradually learning to be comfortable with my personal goals in life, but it's a work in progress.
I don't value what the man next door has. It means virtually nothing to sigmas, so keeping up with the Joneses just ain't our thing.
Paris - I am curious when the Sigma personality type description became part of the language, in the past these same personality types were described in the Myers-Brigs personality type as INTJ. It is a pretty rare personality type and you are born INTJ, you can't learn it and you can't unlearn it either. You can however learn to tone it down a bit when you marry a really good woman that can civilize the uncivilizable.
I like your advice to not put yourself in a box, no matter what the advice. I qualify as sigma and liked hearing that being introverted can be a good quality, yet I have taken charge of my life and have learned how to come out of my shell when it might benefit me. Anyways, there are about three things that all of them are missing in general, or about me in particular.
They are exceptionally candid and communicative with their partner.
They are very creative. They do talk about this, but they don’t stress it as much as it should be.
Third, and this is the biggie, and none of them have noticed this. Sigmas are in touch with their feminine side. That means they are balanced and are very empathetic and connect well with women, and in fact prefer conversation with women in social settings because women are more interested in important issues, whereas men typically only talk about sports.

First of all, I wouldn't say "unresponsive to authority," but rather not intimidated or bothered by it. Also, I'd say we are quiet and contemplative, but many have learned to be assertive and in control in a crowd, party, while lecturing, or speaking, etc. We adapt. We don't shy away from people because we are innately introspective. We learn how to overcome that weakness to become an introverted/extrovert. Peace, INTJs!
I was married to my high school sweetheart for 43 years. She passed away last year. I'm starting to look into dating. My problem is that I have no idea about women flirting with me. It also doesn't help that I have not had a date since We got married. I also don't have any experience flirting with women. It seems like women are not even remotely attracted to me. Attractive to women? Who cares? Ignore them. Be attractive to yourself! Seek self actualization based upon your view of yourself and your accomplishments! Men need to stop basing their self image and validation on whether or not women like them, are attracted to them, find them desirable, accept them, go to bed with them, or anything. Find your validation elsewhere.
We all change. We all have seasons of life and we can be much different in each season. Women , like all of us, also change as they age. The woman who loves and desires you today may feel the opposite in two months, two years, or two decades. Whatever the time period when she utters the phrase "I'm not happy!" your life as you knew it is OVER. The system gives her the power, even just on a whim, to remove you from your house, your possessions, your career, and even your children. Many women do just that.
Seek peace, quiet, and freedom as a famous man I much admire has said. Seek self sufficiency and avoid marriage or cohabitation at all costs. Learn to be impervious to women and their games to entrap you. Learn the discipline to look right through them, not at them. Extra points the more attractive the woman is. Ignore her. She has no power over you unless you give it. Withhold that power.

Not to worry about others things is one of the easiest things in life, just realize the one fact. Other people´s opinions are neither valid nor relevant in regard to you or whatever you do. All that matter is what you think of yourself, what you do and you have to stay true to that no matter what.
You will inevitably hit a lot of people on the head as they can´t handle this, there is no "compliment" manipulation possible, no sweet talk, no other vomit inducing socializing garbage to make you "agreeable". You are just who you are, others have to accept that or get lost.
Which adds another layer however... or it´s just a me thing cause i am natural born loner, you just simply do not value or see much point in relationships, you kinda take what is beneficial and bugger off afterwards as they make me feel restricted and i can´t have that. Also there is never a "we" in my thought or care, i can team up with people if i consider it beneficial to do so, but never to do something i could do on my own just to have company and never am i "part" of a team or whatever. I am always an outsider by choice and like to keep distance.
Another thing i genuinely have issues with is, authority, which follows in with the first point. I have to do what i have to do no matter what and other peoples opinion or thoughts on that are not relevant. That doesn´t make me good at following orders nor follow standards (only if both fall in line with that i think is best, in which i just "follow" by accident). However neither been a fan of applying rules/standards on others as i prefer people using the grey matter in their heads and get stuff down without others telling them step by step how to. One reason i am also highly annoyed by chicks with "daddy" issues.... i do not want a sub that needs me to tell her what to do in every part of life, grow up and learn to tie your own shoes or else i can´t even take you serious let alone consider you anything but obsolete.
Short part, sigma´s are pure chaos in what is a rule/standard loving society, and we are alpha´s worst nightmares as they want to lead/apply rules for others but there is nothing they can do to make us follow or even care. Beta´s are confused as for them anything we do seems easy and natural but we don´t want to have them "follow" us as "groupies" and praise our every move, that is an alpha thing.
Odd´s are no sigma is ever going past situationships.. it would be against their very nature and the vast majority of women (that i got to know) would ever be able to keep a sigma interested, or fit´s his way of life. However... you will attract a lot of women and even so you don´t care about most you have ample opportunity for casual fun if you so desire, just be warned a lot of chicks can´t handle you as you will not follow her expectations, neither will you give in an inch, are highly resilient to manipulation and even blackmail attempts won´t even bother you in the slightest.
Existing "outside" of society, yet doing what you do and be successful doing so, you will never "feel" to be part of something/with someone and are generally pure chaos wherever you step your foot into. If you don´t have your own business but are employed then good luck, if you have a superior with any brain activity he/she will realize it´s best to let you do what you do without ever asking questions and not look to close what rules you follow or break cause doing both is part of your nature. Have a boss that tries to "get you in line"... both of you will end up bashing their heads with each other without anyone giving in an inch, you are likely to find another job as this one is restricting you and expecting the worst from you, sell out on yourself to "do" as someone else wants.
Oh and one additional happy thing, you will find it hard to understand nowadays society and the addiction of many to complain/waste time over the most trivial of things (specially on social media). You are like an alien among people, the sooner you understand that the happier you will be, try not to blend in it won´t work and you will just hate yourself trying. Focus on what you want from life and pursue it, if you do that you will be a force of nature that gets forward no matter what. (you are likely to however walk over many "corpses", not literally but mentally speaking, not that you care either way. People just dislike/hate something they can neither understand, nor make to comply or get to be agreeable)

I think as men we often think that listening is suggestions solutions, when we are supposed to be listening without such as well as listening for the emotion and not necessarily the issues.
I 100% agree with you about the box. Let you identity come from deep knowledge of self, not any label from society. I don't like being boxed in at all (which ironically is a sigma trait) so when I randomly clicked on a sigma video, I was almost a bit annoyed how spot on most of the description was.

It's a little weird that people, mainly women for whatever reason have told me that I'm sigma male. They told me why and now watching your amazing video just proved to me that these people were right. This is a very poor description of what a real Sigma male is. This woman is writing her wish list but doesn’t actually talk about the most basic core qualities of a real sigma. She literally doesn’t know what she is talking about and has likely never even met a sigma.
