There are countless people coming in all sizes, races, and personalities. There is a vast amount of interests people can have and plenty of things people can dislike. There are thousands of ways people like to look. There are many types of cultures, groups, and communities in this world. Its very unlikely for two people to be the same due to the limitless possibilities one person could end up being. No matter anyone thinks, or what the ideal way of life is, there is no such thing as 'normal'.
Although these guys are not wrong, being a furry is different for each of us. Some like yiff and erotic roleplay, some don't. Some simply like the artstyle and some like to dress up in anything from ears and tail, to full fursuits. As with most things in the world, it's very much down to the individual. The one defining factor I think makes you a furry, is actually wanting to be part of the fandom. That is the only thing that we all have in common. Peace out y'all!

I just wish that this had come out before i moved all over the continental USA. I had lived in California for 5 years and I was unable to find any help in the furry communty. I was homeless for 2 years becaus of that. I wish there were more people like you who are willing to make informational storys about furries. It could help me in the future and a lot of others.

you don't have to be extremely involved to be a furry, it's just a bit more fun that way, but participating in furry online communities is probably the easiest way to keep up with the fandom.

I think the main reason there's hate for fur suiters is because it seems (even if it's not true) like a transvestite who's interested in animals, not the opposite gender. This is made even worse by how well furries fall within the uncanny valley for so many people, so it just seems scary with bestiality connotations... Personally, I'm indifferent to furries, but I certainly got that vibe.
