Hello Théo. Today I had my first SIV class with another instructor (I was worried about my level of French). To my surprise, the instructor just said « show me what you think a wing over is » without any explanation whatsoever! In my head, I kept remembering your tutorial, and I did a great job for a first time. Out of all the manœuvres I did today, this maneuver seemed to be the easiest. Thank you🌸
There are people who excel at flying, and there are people who excel at teaching. To find both those qualities in the same pilot is priceless. Thank you Théo for the superb tutorials!
Very well done, Théo! We are really happy to support and work with you because you are adding value to the community! Looking forward to the next projects. Have fun, land safely - your NOVA-team
Good tutorial! For a beginner it might be helpful to teach also about keeping the WO small and exit if it becomes asymetric or with unsufficient energy. I know that many people have the problem of a WO which is becoming bigger and bigger but they don't like it and can't stop properly.
Great video thanks for explaining. the only problem is the fish eye cam. so it is hard to estimate the position of the glider to the horizon. May you can change the camera to the old one for the next videos. Than it would much easier for me to understand.
THANK YOU! I really appreciate your approach on this tutorial. I've watched a bunch of wing-over tutorial videos and this is by far the clearest. PS the Ion 6 looks fun! I'm going to demo one, I'm stoked. Keep it up, Theo!
Nice tutorial. Thanks Theo. just wonder if it is ok to grab risers to help to switch weight shift to another side when pilot dives down from highest point? i seem to have issue switch side when doing bigger one. Not sure if it is my issue or harness issue ( i felt my harness seatboard a bit oversized)
Since you don't have any answers, I share my thoughts. I would advise never to grab risers and rather use your thumb on one hand to push yourself a little if necessary. Don't try to force it, as long as you are putting weight/strenght, the input is transmitted to your wing. The risk, if you grab your risers, is that in an usual situation you might forget to pilot your glider out of fear and keep olding your risers. Hope this is helpful :)
Thanks Théo foir the tutorial. One question about asymmetric spirals : I had heard that in terms of weightshift, after the end of pitch phase (when you're going up) and during the hands up phase, you need to shift your weight to the outside until the next phase (i.e. inside weight shift and then inside brake).
We can see he's doing it but he's not mentioning it, I guess for him it's just intuitive to keep the glider straight during acceleration but I also find this explanation missing. Maybe he can tell us more of he sees the comments
If you inside brake too much you will stall the wing. This is not a usual mistake because the brake pressure is strong so to do that you really need to do everything wrong.
Thank you now I finally know when to pull. See my most active time was 1991-2010 and I remember a guy he knew well to wing over and asymmetric. That was in the 90s when it was the top of acro haha . I asked him how to do but he didn't want to tell me. He said no I don't want to tell you because I don't want others can do it too. Haha he was an instructor too blown up and dumb
I'm a strong guy, but when I'm doing really big assymetrics my tricep muscles get really worked, like sore... is that normal? Our local acro gurus have told me my big assymetric spirals look really good, but man they really work my arms. Should I be taking an extra wrap? Or braking sooner with less force? My wingovers aren't that big yet.
I'm pretty sure it applies (I do both paragliding and skydiving) but with a parachute you get a lot less energy because it doesn't fly well. I think it would work better with a small parachute canopy although then it behaves more like a speedflying wing
Cool Tuto!
What weight range are you fliying at? I cant get such big wingovers as you. Part of it may be that im not theo de blic hahahahah but the other part that i suspect is that i fly my wing inside its homologation weight.
Best wing over tutorial so far
thanks !
I agree!

Great video thanks for explaining. the only problem is the fish eye cam. so it is hard to estimate the position of the glider to the horizon. May you can change the camera to the old one for the next videos. Than it would much easier for me to understand.

David Eyraud advises holding (as long as you're not pulling)
Thank you for your advise.
Great tutorial, you really covered a lot!
Merci Théo!
Excellent instruction!

Hello, any particular reason you're not really discussing the weightshift during the acceleration? (to avoid extra roll)
nice👌🙋🏻♂️
Theo, I noticed you hold outside brake a bit longer than inside one before going hands up... Is it important? Or does it happen unintentionally?
I'm a strong guy, but when I'm doing really big assymetrics my tricep muscles get really worked, like sore... is that normal? Our local acro gurus have told me my big assymetric spirals look really good, but man they really work my arms. Should I be taking an extra wrap? Or braking sooner with less force? trop cool 👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏
Very good
Nice tutorial...:-)
Salut. Peu tu nous dire quelle sellette tu utilises? Merci beaucoup
Wow…! Ive been doing wing-over attempts all wrong…! have too start all over with this technique.
cool tutorial, thanks
Wondering if same things apply under parachute canopy?
I'm pretty sure it applies (I do both paragliding and skydiving) but with a parachute you get a lot less energy because it doesn't fly well. I think it would work better with a small parachute canopy although then it behaves more like a speedflying wing
Superb! One question i dont understand, why is it impossible to be to late on assymetric?
It's not impossible but it's not dangerous. If you are too late you won't have a lot of energy but it will still work enough to pass easily
Hello Theo, can I practice this with my Supair Evo xc harness?
Deleitando los una vez con sus artilugios nivel Dios.
Cool Tuto! Est-ce que si on freine trop tôt à l'intérieur on reste en descente comme une spirale mais en alternant de côté ? C'est ce que j'imagine en tout cas.

Thank you Theo nice content and well done, Fly BAby FLy

Off topic: What footrest are you using?
Thanks Theo! Where is this place you are flying?
i think its annecy
actually it is Verel, close to Chambéry (in between annecy and grenoble)
