I can't express how amazing it felt to get the "Perfect Run" achievement on my first play through. I worked really hard on every case and carefully read the newspaper every time. It felt so incredibly earned.
God I'm glad you're covering this game. This was a hidden gem. This game really gave me the run for my money in terms of really sitting down and deducing shit without the game really going "Hey dipshit it's most likely this". It just gives me time to do stuff, then once I have all possible conclusions on the table, I ask myself two questions. 1. Which one is correct and makes the most sense? and 2. Justice or Forgivness?
I'm just gonna slip in here and reccomend "The Darkside Detective". The sequel came out a while ago and they're both pretty alright

You know, for a while I wasn't sure about your style of 'walk through the whole game, comment here, comment there.' But honestly I think it's got that same energy of going to your friend's place after school and checking out this neat game they were telling you about.

Another quality episode, and one I'm here surprisingly early for. I love seeing stuff on genres of gaming I don't personally dig into. This game looks like it's really high quality and pretty interesting to say the absolute least. Especially how the choices aren't like a lot of games with black and white morality about them. Being more mistake-oriented is really kind of interesting and I wonder if other games could use that to any significant degree without feeling like they're insisting on save-scumming. I mean, imagine playing an RPG where you get locked out of a treasure room because you were rude to a guard. Even if the treasure was some equipment you can buy at the store, people would still insist on getting it, even if just to sell for the cash to buy other stuff. I think it could be more interesting than like what Mass Effect and other games do, I'm just not sure how to go about implementing it in ways other than this.

I've been following the dev of this game since before the title event launched, and it's an absolute fascinating title for sure. I like that you went so in-depth on just the first case. It makes it feel like a very detailed video, but not overly spoilery, y'know? I really liked that, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't interested in seeing you talk about the other cases as well.
I am disappointed in myself for neglecting to watch this video until now.

Seeing this review reminded me of another detective point and click game that I played relatively recently. A new-ish game called "Jenny LeClue: Detectivú". It's about a young, would-be detective girl who is desperate for a serious case in an unnaturally peaceful town. The case that she does run into is, perhaps more serious than she was expecting, and more personal in some ways.
I found the whole thing rather charming, with the somewhat cookie-cutter yet smooth animations and mostly lighthearted tone that knows when to take itself seriously. I wondered if you've tried the game, and if not, I'd recommend giving it a go.

I don't like point and click adventure games at all, but im glad you can summarize them very well and making them entertaining

In relation to both this video and the last few you've put out (as I've been catching up on a years worth of videos I seem to have missed out on), thank you for your defense in favor of people of color, LGBTQ+ people, fat people, women, and minorities in general in your videos. It means a lot as someone who fits into a lot of minority groups to watch someone I've been watching for- gosh, at least 7 years now, not be afraid to call out dated humor (say Governor Phatt in Monkey II) or commend realistic and relevant representations of racial issues like in this game.

Yeah, stuff like this first case really makes you consider your own morals, particularly with the victim being such a monster. Not sure whether I’d condemn or acquit Guy, but even without the racism or vengeance angles I get it: Madame DuPree was a sadistic monster, and in my opinion she needed to die. Didn’t quite get there, but at least finding the truth brings a more legal punishment on her.
That reminds me of Law Of The West.
