I have looked 4ever for a good charro beans recipe. This is the long lost recipe I was searching for. When I released the pressure after 5 minutes of cooking with all of the ingredients, the smell immediately filled my kitchen and I knew I’d found what I was looking for. My husband loved them. We’ll be having at least once a week. I love your sweet demeanor as well. You make it easy to watch by not making it drawn out too. Great editing. Thank you sooo much for sharing this recipe!!! ❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼
Oh my gosh, the first time I’ve ever seen anyone make real refried beans!!! I’m 67 when I was 4 my dad would take us to a Mexican restaurant that was in the front room of the Mexican family’s house, there were mix and match chairs at the old chrome legged tables. Talk about authentic it was soooo good. Memories of that old house with the crooked porch, and the ladies cooking in the kitchen. They had a restaurant in their house. Unheard of today. The old house is long gone but the Ms Rachel just brought alive in this young girls life are as vivid as yesterday. Thank you, Ms. Rachel
Hi Rachel!! 🥰 I made your Charro beans, “Step by Step’ and they were AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!! The only difference is that I make my beans in a crockpot (I don’t have a Ninja Foodie) but they come out great too as they always have. I followed ALL the other steps like the onion & garlic during the overnight cooking. My family and friends at work REALLY ENJOYED their Delicious FLAVORS!! Your Beans were a HIT with the sausage, bacon, tomatos, cilantro, garlic, onions and You were ABSOLUTELY RIGHT by adding the Tomato Chicken Flavored Consommé!! It gave it a Most Flavorful Taste that now I will ALWAYS make it “Tia Rachel ❤️ Style” (we call You Tia Rachel at home🥰 because we make many of your recipes (my daughters make them too!) and they NEVER DISAPPOINT!! 😋 God Bless You Tia Rachel & Tio Ron ❤️💙!!! You’ve brought delicious recipes into our Homes 🏡 and My Daughters & I, My BFF & Sister, Marie & Cousin Ernie are Very Grateful for both You & Ron for coming into our homes via RUclips!! 🥰😋😍😘❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙
I love watching you everyday! You’re an awesome chef and I’m also from the valley originally from Los Fresnos but now I live in San Antonio. I’m a retired caterer and a lot of the meals you cook are very much like mine 😁 thank you Rachel for your beautiful personality and all the delicious recipes you share with us 🥰❤️
I love how she compliments her own food to the max😄Every compliment is deserved though!. I've made several of her recipes and us having a Hispanic background, her food ideas are greatly appreciated in our house ☺️🤗
Hi, Rachel! I made the charro beans in my pressure cooker today for lunch. They were SO DELICIOUS! The only thing I did differently was to use two whole kielbasa sausages, just because we like a lot of meat in our soups. My husband loves beans and he gave it 5 out of 5 stars. I even gave a bowl of charro beans to his uncle, because he also loves charro beans. We are all staying for the winter at South Padre Island at an RV park. On our trip to Mexico, I plan to purchase two molcajetes. I am glad I watched your video on the molcajetes, because I didn't realize that they needed to be cured. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for your educational cooking videos! I am learning a lot!!
Raining cats and dogs here in Washington state. Today is the perfect day for your Charro beans and my family said that they are the best I've ever made. Thank you
I happened upon your channel while looking for some new recipes. OMG, these were the best beans I think I have ever had! My husband and my 9 year old granddaughter absolutely raved about how good the flavor of these were. I look forward to searching your videos to see what other hidden gems you have. 😁 It is so nice to be able to add new meals to our rotation and being able to do it in an instapot made for a quick dinner and easy clean up. Thank you for making this recipe available to us.
RacheI, grew up upon the Rio Grande Valley too. Lived in San Juan, San Benito and Raymondville. My parents were born there and my Grandfather owned a business in Raymondville. I never knew Enchiladas, Tacos, etc, were Mexican food. It was just what we ate most nights. Thanks for sharing your recipes.
You remind of my Momma, who I lost 20 yrs ago, she would cut everything in small pieces like you do! I just don't have like that, I just throw everything together! And I've been told I'm a very GOOD COOK! MY FRIED CHICKEN IS TO DIE FOR! 😊
I really hope your family is taking lessons and learning all these amazing dishes you make! I loved watching my Grandmother and aunt cook. And now, my 2.5 year old granddaughter is always on her chair at my side when cooking. And I let her help as often as is possible, she loves it! She whisks eggs, seasons veggies, stirs pots with the best of them. She even breaded chicken for chicken francaise last week! I wish I had someone to teach me to cook, especially Mexican dishes. Its my favorite! Thanks again, Rachel! Big hugs from California!
You are doing an amazing job, I did the same with my daughter when she was growing up, and she is a fantastic cook, it will be passed down. If I can help with any dish just let me know. Thank you so much for your comment and support of my channel my friend. ❤
I love beans. I used to cook them with cooked bacon. Due to health reasons I no longer eat pork. I will get a smoked turkey leg or smoked turkey wing and use that in place of the pork. I also add it in at the beginning of the process. It is really good. Thank you for sharing your recipes with us.
Mrs. Rachel, I made charro beans using this recipe and they turned out so delicious! I was born and raised in McAllen, Tx. and now live in Oklahoma City, OK. My charro beans taste like the beans served in the Mexican restaurants in the RGV. Thank you so much for sharing your recipe!
OMG I had never made Charro beans bc my husband is always cooking 😆 🤣 I followed your recipe and I'M IN HEAVEN!!!!! THESE BEANS ARE THE 💣 💣 💣 💣 💣 SO DELICIOUS Thank you so much Mrs. Rachel for sharing your recipes I'll continue to cook more with you 😊

Thank you for sharing, I love going back into your older videos also. I'm trying to catch them all😊 My husband did make your cinnamon rolls. They were absolutely delicious... And everything you make looks delicious.
You totally speak my language when it comes to your style of cooking. Your channel is a blessing to all of us that grew up with this kind of food but were not taught how to make it. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, charm and wit.
What a WONDERFUL Charro Beans recipe! I was raised in Corpus Christi, and I have tried many times to duplicate restaurant style charros and these are simply delicious! I used 2 smoked turkey wings instead of bacon in the first cooking time, then removed, deboned and added the meat back to the beans and juice. Everything else was per your recipe, and it turned out great! Thanks for the upload!!!!
Hi Rachel, I was born and raised in the San Antonio area and I absolutely love your videos! I made this bean recipe tonight and they were delicious! I have also made your enchilada casserole and calabacita con pollo. Every recipe has been a hit with my family. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful recipes. I wish you all the best!
Hi Rachel! I love to watch you cook. You truly enjoy being in your kitchen. You are the Bob Ross of the kitchen 💕 Always saying “how beautiful, just like that, you see.” You make me hungry 😋
My Dad lived in Texas & when I would visit from NoCal I couldn't wait to eat some TexMex...Your cooking always looks so delicious... I can't wait to make it... Thank You
Hi Rachel, love your instructional videos. I just wanted to mention, the little red button as you refer to it, is actually a pressure indicator when up there is still pressure remaining, as you know when it drops pressure is all relieved. I hope this brings clarity to you. Thanks again!
I love beans and in my native Chile we would eat legumes during winter. I often make those recipes on my Mini InstantPot that I got several years ago as a housewarming present, which renders about 6 servings and too much for me alone. So, I eat one portion, save another one for next day and package & freeze the remaining portions ... instant meals after returning from hiking or from a winter's walk. Now I am looking forward to trying your recipe with jalapenos and sausage. So good!
Rachel, hi my name is Lina and this is how my grandmother cooked …. I cooked your charro beans and let me tell you they are absolutely delicious, my family loved them, very authentic…. I am definitely a follower of yours…..
Thank you for doing another Ninja Foodie recipe. I think my Foodie has been such a great help to me during this last year, learning to use it and finding delicious recipes such as yours to make. Laura

I made your Charro Beans and they were delicious! I didn’t add the sausage or jalapeños due to we can’t eat 😂 anything too spicy. But it was delicious! I’ll be making this every time we want beans! Thank you Rachel! ❤
I made this and oh my God that was the best pinto bean i have ever ate.. and i was raised on pinto beans but Rachel your way is out of this world good I LOVE YOUR COOKING
Girl! Oh my goodness gracious!!! I made these in my instant pot-they are KILLER!!!! I plan to share my pot with my brother because he's a bachelor who never eats properly!!! Whatever I don't take to him will be pressure canned for later-so yummy!!!! I did mine a little bit different-when it was time to put them in to pressure cook the second time I added a cup of rice and used the rice function. Still "soupy" and cooked perfectly!!!
I cook on a reg stove like u did. I put some salt bacon when cooking the beans , I then cook bacon onion in another pan just like you, but I also add 1 can of beer at the very end for about 15 min. Only thing I use cut pork skins instead of sausage. I buy them at the Mex meat market I put them in at beginning of the cooking of the beans. Love your videos.👍👍👍
Enjoying you are demonstrating diverse methods of your recipe preparation using a multi pressure cooker. Wanted to note, as this is one of your older videos, audio is fine on mine, using my Roku stick today, watching on a 10+ year old Vizio 😉.
