Delightfully done and very informative. I recently purchased the G7 and am learning more every day. Your video pointed out features I was not aware of. Thanks!
Not only the best camera review, but probably best video review I've ever seen! Very well done! You seem knowledgeable and the video was structured amazingly well. You told almost everything there is to know on this camera without making a 30 minute long video. Definitely subscribing!
I really like this review, it is non-commercial, it's not advertising the camera.. and totally professional.. and really in-depth.. I enjoyed every part of if... as well as the entire structure... (which is also very professional) congratulations and thanks !!
Great review! I've got a G7 and love it. I bought it to learn about 4K video, but even as a stills camera it's a very pleasurable experience to shoot with. I attribute this to its very lightweight and many exposed controls. I just wish it had a bit more weather-sealing. Anyway I really liked your video footage, especially of the coast where the graded water was much bluer. Looking forward to watching future reviews by you.
Damn, that was an INCREDIBLE amd infirmative review. You actually explained a lot more things that I didn't see other reviews talk about. Like how the viewfinder behaves when something is close to the camera or how it always turnd on when the flip-out screen is closed. Thank you so much!
best review out there, man Kudos to you, this was really easy to understand, technical review but not to overwhelming technical and not trying to be a smart ass like other reviews (and i've seen more than 30 for the last 2 days), i got sold by this, will get my G7
Wow! That was your first review? That was incredibly well done! You obviously spent a lot of time and put a lot of thought and preparation into that. I'm thinking of buying the new Lumix G85, but I'm still considering the G7 because it is so much cheaper. Thank you for your great review.
+Tim Hiatt Thanks for your kind words :) The G85 has a lot of great features, but it's probably not worth the upgrade coming from a G7. However, in your case I'd consider it more seriously, the in-body stabilization can be a lot of help!
This was a great video! by far the best Panasonic G7 review out there and SUPER informative, you covered many things I didn't know about the camera like the adjustable focus profiles and delayed shutter. I am definitely going to buy this camera in the near future :) thank you for making this video can't wait to see more! earned my sub!
It was a great review. I want to buy this camera for shooting stills mainly. I very appreciate fully articulated screen and overall I like it. Probably won't use it for videos very much but kind a like to have a good video option, just in case. What do you think, is it good for me?
Nice Video ! Good job on your video - Keep them coming !!! I like the way you put sections to your video, you may want to mentioned the timestamp of each section for easier navigation
g7 user here. i am still a fan of this camera. only specs missing are: headphone jack, better autofocus in video and stabilization (which the successor g85 has!) thank you for the effort and the review. thumbs up.
Good comprehensive review for those interested. Question: Seeing that the G7 has no headphone jack to monitor audio, can a Zoom H5 portable audio recorded be connected as a pass-through to the hotshoe and then monitored through the external (Zoom H5) microphone headphone jack? How do you monitor audio without the headphone jack on the G7?
+EPH S I honestly hardly ever need to record audio in-camera, because I mostly record it directly via PC, so I haven't looked for a workaround for the lack of a headphone jack. Sorry I can't help about that, but feel free to ask if you have other questions!
+The Nerd Herd Not a problem. I'm researching it as much as possible. It sounds like the G7 is pretty solid, especially as I am new to video making. Is the kit lens 14-42mm decent for stabilization? I know you mentioned it as being decent. Thanks for your quick reply. Nice review.
+The Nerd Herd Mainly indoors for corporate type interviews and some b-roll shots. I may plan to use a monopod and do a few weddings from time to time.
+EPH S The monopod + the lens stabilization should be more than enough, even if a tripod it's always the best solution for interviews and b-roll in my opinion. The monopod is probably handier for weddings.
+OcchioDiTeo haha I know what you mean, I've heard about the awful battery life of the a7 series! By the way, I was thinking about the 4 hours of video shooting of the GH4, that is insane.
Great review and thanks for linking to your sample pictures. It takes some great still/vid shots and you're a good photographer :) I wanted to ask, how well do the RAW still files take to being pushed in the shadows? Does it have a reasonably good dynamic range?
+ProfessionalAesthete First off, thanks! :) I deem the DR to be good enough, but having tried just a handful of cameras I wouldn't know how it stacks up with other models.
This is truly a great camera...I bought it a few weeks ago and just got the 25mm 1.7 lens discounted for $100....two more lenses and I think I'll be set for just about any situation for photo or video..I'm considering a speed boosting adapter like the Metabones but don't want to spend $650... anyone with opinions of the new Kipon Baveyes II AF .76 reducing AF adapter?
what lens option would you prefer for travel/walk-around video ? I want a all-in-one lens with stablization . and some fast lens for low light situations p/s : nice video man love it
+TuBeso I just use the 14-42 for basically everything. Good range, built-in OIS and decent sharpness. Not the best in low light though. For that I use either my Olympus Auto-S 50mm f/1.8 or my Soligor 35-70mm f/2.5-3.5, but neither of the two has OIS ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ And thanks!
+The Fow If you want something similar in terms of size and weight and at the same price, the A6000 is a really nice option for stills, and it's not bad at videos either (no 4K though). Take a look at this review if you wanna know more, I always trust their judgment: ruclips.net/video/llmciAKNq9c/видео.html
I thought this was a great review vid. Thanks or mentioning the price difference between the g7 and many of its competitors. That is a point too few reviewers talk about.
Hi.. Based on some youtube review on panasonic G7, am very pleased with it and planning to buy, request you to give your opinion on the same, my usage predominantly 60% video and rest images. And if you are also recommending G7, should i go with the kit lens 14-42 or 14-140 (video recording should be sharp), please guide...Thanks
+Ivar Rain I strongly recommend the G7 for video. The choice between the 14-42 and the 14-140 is the maximum zoom, which is longer on the 14-140. I personally do not need all that zoom so I went for the 14-42, but if you plan to shoot maybe sports or wildlife, the extra reach of the 14-140 can come in handy.
Dude can you help me? When im photo the result is great on the camera but when im transfer it to pc or smartphone the result of photo become sucks. But for video its ok.
Can Someone Help me, I have my camera on single photo mode but it still is taking burst photos (Or at least sounds like it) When I change to iA it only takes one photo which I want, so how do I get it to take one photo on manual?
+GateLock Productions As I mentioned in the video, it should be possible, but I haven't tried one personally. If you're just interested in an external monitor and not an external recorder (like a Shogun) you can always use the Panasonic app and see the image live on your smartphone or tablet
+Emanuele Lauricella "Ungraded" significa semplicemente senza nessuna modifica apportata in post, semplicemente così com'è uscito dalla fotocamera. Delightfully done and very informative. I recently purchased the G7 and am learning more every day. Your video pointed out features I was not aware of. Thanks!
+David Casler Thank you for watching!
David how is photos on this camera
Is the af really that bad?
Well done! It's always nice to see a review from a reviewer who's taken the time to provide a high quality video.
+Maarten Heilbron Thanks so much for the feedback Maarten, I was really looking forward to it :)
+The Nerd Herd You do nice work, I particularly like your use of light (or is it just prettier where you are than Toronto?) and the slider.
Man, I normally don't leave a comment, but this is a great review. Good job!
+blindkkj Thank you sir!
Not only the best camera review, but probably best video review I've ever seen! Very well done! You seem knowledgeable and the video was structured amazingly well. You told almost everything there is to know on this camera without making a 30 minute long video. Definitely subscribing!

+John Roberts Thank you John, I really appreciate your comment!
I have a couple of vintage lenses reviews upcoming, hope you'll enjoy those as well!
I totally watched all of that just because your shots are 🔥🔥🔥🔥 PS: I know nothing about camera reviews but you get my approval. Brilliant job!
+JCVP11 Thanks so much man, your comments are always awesome! 👊
The Nerd Herd No problems dude!
Damn, that was an INCREDIBLE amd infirmative review. You actually explained a lot more things that I didn't see other reviews talk about. Like how the viewfinder behaves when something is close to the camera or how it always turnd on when the flip-out screen is closed. Thank you so much!
Thank you for watching!
Incredible review as always Gio! Definitely one of your best yet as for your first camera review, you nailed it man! Keep em coming :)
+TechSweep Thank you Luke! I really appreciate that 🙌
best review out there, man Kudos to you, this was really easy to understand, technical review but not to overwhelming technical and not trying to be a smart ass like other reviews (and i've seen more than 30 for the last 2 days), i got sold by this, will get my G7
+djrialdo Thank you sir!
Great review man! You got skills. I just copped the G7 and this is the best review I've seen so far.
Wow! That was your first review? That was incredibly well done! You obviously spent a lot of time and put a lot of thought and preparation into that. I'm thinking of buying the new Lumix G85, but I'm still considering the G7 because it is so much cheaper. Thank you for your great review.

AMAZING REVIEW!!! I'd say the most informative review I've seen about the G7. Thank you for taking your time to making such detailed video. :)
this is a great review! there are no other reviews for this camera out there! This helped alot!
+zennny Happy to help :)
Just look around, there are LOADS of great in depth reviews for this camera...
+Garret R It's always great to see hard work appreciated, thanks! Hope you'll enjoy your stay :)
Yeah I'm sure I will :) have you done any testing with the HDMI output on the camera?
Garret R I haven't had the opportunity yet
It was a great review. I want to buy this camera for shooting stills mainly. I very appreciate fully articulated screen and overall I like it. Probably won't use it for videos very much but kind a like to have a good video option, just in case. What do you think, is it good for me?
If you're not going to use it for video there are probably more specialized cameras
Great content, I am always curious how you are getting sharp photos with the kit lens(14-42mm). Can you do a video of that?
Awesome video man! Been wanting this lately. What was this video shot on, out of curiosity?
+DiversityFx The good ol' RX100! And thank you :)
Nice Video ! Good job on your video - Keep them coming !!! I like the way you put sections to your video, you may want to mentioned the timestamp of each section for easier navigation
+Sandy I thought I did, but it actually doesn't work lol Thanks for the heads up!
Awesome video man! Great job and beautiful photos!
+Thor Schroeder Thank you Thor!
+The Nerd Herd nice videos 😘👍
I've watched alot of reviews on the g7 before buying. You went into good detail and did one of the best reviews on it
+MK2EA Thanks a lot man! :)
Awesome review. I've been waiting for this for a while to see how the G7 performs.
+Slupergaming Thank you!
Well done the best review yet on the G7....kept it relatively simple and informative and a good balance on both its capabilities..🙏🏾
Very good review - you are a natural! I also can't stress enough how well and sensitive you are using the music. Very appreciated!
+Johan Stern Thanks a lot sir!
g7 user here. i am still a fan of this camera. only specs missing are: headphone jack, better autofocus in video and stabilization (which the successor g85 has!) thank you for the effort and the review. thumbs up.
Well done man great review thank you, and no annoying music
Kudos on your first review, very well done. It was detailed, informative and a joy to watch.
Thank you for this video, I am now convinced to buy G7.
I'm really confused Should I Buy this on for 500$ or a used a6300 for $850 with kit lens,All I want is a good low-light camera.I shoot in FHD
ArabTech | التقنية العربية G7
Perfect review!!!!! Exactly what I’ve been looking for!!
this was a amazing review Gio timelapse looks outstanding great video.
This was very nice.Loved the review.Very professional.
I love this camera.
+Dawie 1976 Thank you!
This or the G85? I'm mostly into photography. Any other worthy camera suggestions under a 1000 bucks? Thanks.
Good comprehensive review for those interested. EPH S It's solid for the shots I need, but it won't replace a steadycam if you need to run with it. What kind of videos are you planning to create?
+The Nerd Herd Mainly indoors for corporate type interviews and some b-roll shots. I may plan to use a monopod and do a few weddings from time to time.
+EPH S The monopod + the lens stabilization should be more than enough, even if a tripod it's always the best solution for interviews and b-roll in my opinion. The monopod is probably handier for weddings.
Keep it up well done I just subscribed can't wait to see more...
“Battery life is good but not exceptional”, as an a7 owner 2 hours sound like the haven LoL. Nice video!
+OcchioDiTeo haha I know what you mean, I've heard about the awful battery life of the a7 series!
By the way, I was thinking about the 4 hours of video shooting of the GH4, that is insane.

For your first review this was well made and very informative
hello I liked your video. You can take pictures with open octurador to capture the stars without noise? I mean as mirror models such as Canon 80 D
Fantastic review man, getting this for Christmas!
+George Estrada Thank you! I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I do :)
great review man !!! I don't normally comment but it was really good. just a quick question what was your setting when you colour graded the photos ?
+Ellister Paragas What do you mean the setting?
for the cinematic on your g7
This is beautiful dude. Although I'm quite confused because I know nothing about cameras lol
Thanks!
what lens option would you prefer for travel/walk-around video ?
I want a all-in-one lens with stablization . and some fast lens for low light situations
p/s : nice video man love it
+TuBeso I just use the 14-42 for basically everything. Good range, built-in OIS and decent sharpness.
Not the best in low light though.
For that I use either my Olympus Auto-S 50mm f/1.8 or my Soligor 35-70mm f/2.5-3.5, but neither of the two has OIS ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
And thanks!
Amazing video man! to the point and accurate
+BusyBoy506 Thank you!
Excellent review! Hard to believe you haven't done one before!
+nictheartist Thanks :)
I wanted this camera just as badly after I sold my FZ1000. Great video review!
+iAm English-TV Thanks man!
Very good mate! May I ask what you do if you want to have the whole frame in focus please for video????
Raise the aperture! (The f-number. For example f8 is going to have more in focus than f4, but you're also going to get a lot less light in the camera)
Nice Review! The G7 is an amazing camara for videos a photos quality are great.
hello I liked your video. You can take pictures with open octurador to capture the stars?
lol i googled *obturador not knowing it was just shutter in spanish XD
Beautifully put together. Highly informative, great work sir!
+Joe Larrarte Thank you sir!
Which Option is better if you are shooting mostly photos, but some videos too ? at the same price.
+The Fow If you want something similar in terms of size and weight and at the same price, the A6000 is a really nice option for stills, and it's not bad at videos either (no 4K though).
Take a look at this review if you wanna know more, I always trust their judgment: ruclips.net/video/llmciAKNq9c/видео.html
how do you guys do the side by side video when editing like at 11:34
I thought this was a great review vid. Thanks or mentioning the price difference between the g7 and many of its competitors. That is a point too few reviewers talk about.
+Old Guy Photography Glad you liked it, thanks for watching!
Would you mind sharing your Cinelike D setting? How did you color grade?
-5 -5 -2 -2, but don't get too fixated on the numbers!
As for the color grading, take a look at this: ruclips.net/video/LDL2WO-Msks/видео.html
Dang, dude you're always such an inspiration. Perhaps I'll get this in the future for my channel if I get cash from odd jobs.
+Unicorn Workhorse Thanks so much man, that's really appreciated!
+The Nerd Herd Is that fluid head the magnus vph-20?
+Unicorn Workhorse Nope, it's a Yuteng one, it should be listed in the description
Great video. Do you happen to find the front dial is way too loose. It does not even have the click as the rear dial... Is this normal? Thanks!
I think you did a great job with this video. Thanks for all the information.
Thank you! Planning on reviewing the G80 as well
You're welcome! Well, keep up the good work!
good job... I have the g7 and love it more and more every day.
+totisgr Same for me!
I want to make gym videos and edits! will this camera be good for it? videos of us working out, partying in a cinematic flattering way!
Nice job! But can I have a question? What software do you use for video editing? Thanks 4 answer ;)
+czechmademan Adobe Premiere, sometimes DaVinci Resolve for the color grading
Hi.. Based on some youtube review on panasonic G7, am very pleased with it and planning to buy, request you to give your opinion on the same, my usage predominantly 60% video and rest images. Nice review! Thanks!
+Frank Stonehouse (The Frankly Speaking Show) Thank you for watching!
Your video is very satisfying to watch
Watching it in 2018
Well done
What LUTs did you use recording the video and when using the g7?
Just the built-in ones in Premiere, plus this one: luts.iwltbap.com/color-grade-free-lut-aspen/
Which one in your opinion takes better stills.....the G7 or the sony a6000?
Haven't tried the a6000
would you be able to help with bluring the background in the G7??
awesome video.. what was that song you used at 10:57?
Great review, very informative
+Techfarm Thanks!
Is G7 For street photography and Videography is best or not
Can g7 footage be graded well and what's the flattest picture profile ?
Cine D is the flattest
Excellent review!
Dude can you help me? When im photo the result is great on the camera but when im transfer it to pc or smartphone the result of photo become sucks. But for video its ok.
How many photo shots we can take after full battery?
What did you use, for shooting this video?
+imam firmansyah Sony RX100 M1
Good job for a first time review!
Excellent review
Thank you!
Good content comparisons!
nice presentation friend. very useful. thanks
Thank you for watching!
Wonderful! Thank you for this, very helpful.
Can't decide between this and the D5300. For picture and video which one is better?
I haven't tried the D5300, so not sure!
my lumix G7 is a marvelous camera, its my love
Can Someone Help me, I have my camera on single photo mode but it still is taking burst photos (Or at least sounds like it) When I change to iA it only takes one photo which I want, so how do I get it to take one photo on manual?
+Weston's World What do you mean "it sounds like it"?
I fixed it but it sounded like it was taking 3 photos sounded like a burst
Very good review thank you!
Nice job! great review!
+Randy Rakhman Glad you liked it, thanks!
Awesome vid bruh! Thanks!
+RcAntax Thank you for watching!
Can you use an external video monitor on it?
+GateLock Productions As I mentioned in the video, it should be possible, but I haven't tried one personally.
If you're just interested in an external monitor and not an external recorder (like a Shogun) you can always use the Panasonic app and see the image live on your smartphone or tablet
Really good review!
Thank you!
excellent review...thanks a lot
+johan naranjo Thank you for watching!
Exellent video, thanks.
Grazie, utilissimo! Ed ottimo inglese
do you have any hot issue while recording full hd?
Honestly I have recorded FHD like twice in total, 4K quality is just unreachable.
However, never had issues with 4K, so I'm guessing you won't have problems in FHD either
great video, your videos differently pull me in...
for video examples what does graded and not graded mean im a little confused
+ReconBomber "Graded" means "after the color grading process has been applied"
hi what lenses are you using for the still images?
+CJ Gaikwad The 14-42 kit lens!
Thats awesome! Thank you so much!
realy good good rewiew! thank you.
+Andre Barbosa Thank you for watching!

+Ques Films Thank you!
