What do you look for when purchasing a new interface? Share below!
At the moment, I just look at my wallet. That usually determines what I'm going to purchase 😂
@Produce Like A Pro, when I look at an audio interface, I look at the clarity of the preamps and the features that come with it. I’d like to be able to start making great sounding music right out of the box. Antelope is one of the companies that I’ve been looking to acquire. I currently use a Universal Audio Apollo Twin MKII which has been an absolute game-changer for me. I’m only working with two inputs, and I need to add more. I love the sound of the Antelope.
In other words, I really want this.
@@yackohoopy So ... when you consider a new interface ("Antelope is one of the companies that I’ve been looking to acquire") you simply buy the f-ing company. You bad ass man! 😀
@@no-yj2cf haha I hear you
@@yackohoopy thanks ever so much for sharing
Warren is really an A-list session guitar player masquerading as a record producer.
Haha thanks! I am really a guitar player and songwriter that learned how to record out of necessity! You’re very kind
Original discrete 4 owner here. Antelopes flagship products are stellar and receive updates regularly. Not so for their lower tier products. 3 months after buying the Discrete 4 + Edge Duo mic (excellent sound + simulations) Antelope released the D4 Synergy Core and ceased updates for my unit. Now a couple years later they release the D4 Pro, and same thing.
Updates should not require new hardware at such a frequent rate. Appalling treatment of customers.
You really do have the ability to educate your students with out scaring them away from ever picking up their guitar again.
Your genius is quite understated and extremely appreciated.
Dear Warren just keep continuing to do such a great music. Katie is a great singer. Big thank's.
Thanks ever so much!
I have the Antelope Discrete 4 and its been working great on my PC since day one.
What a beautiful song! And I love those mirrored electric guitar and bass parts. So good!
Oh my, what an excellent interface. That kick sound you got Warren, had me ready for a towel and nap in short order. That was just CRAZY! Great playing, singing, what else can I say! Absolutely masterful. So talented.
Wow! Thanks ever so much! I really appreciate it
Me too! Damn... helluva cool kick sound!
@@BAwesomeDesign thanks ever so much!
Just love your stuff but this was extremely fun to watch and what a stellar musician you are on top of your engineering mastery. Can't thank you enough
Wow! Thanks ever so much! I really appreciate it
Great fun to watch you work your magic. You make it look so much easier than it is!
I did a double-take at 31:30 when I heard "the vocal trickening thick" 😆 Excellent work; thank you for yet another amazing demonstration / review.
Every time y'all do it this way it totally hyper focuses me❣️It is, gorgeous.
Thanks ever so much Audrey!
“ Vocal Trickening Thick” 😂🤣 love it 🤘🏻🤘🏻 glad you left that in
Im loving this. Fantastic vocal harmonies. Im going to have some fun with this and do an electronica version! Thanks Warren, as always 👍
Thanks ever so much!
Amazing talent 🖤 I use Galaxy 64 in the studio and Zen Tour Synergy Core for mobile. AFX plugins are awesome. BAE plugins are my favorite but honestly they’re all fantastic.
Sounds great, appreciate the work flow, and I really appreciate that you showed your mistake with the click bleed, and that “you live and you learn”
You're very welcome!
What a great song, thoroughly enjoyed it and seeing how the tracks were set up.
nifty guitar & bass Warren! always great to see you play
Thanks ever so much!! I really appreciate it
Dope song! Big Love from South Africa..!
Uff, Warren Showing some great chops!! 🔥
Looks like a real good interface with shed loads of options. Great video, cheers
Thanks ever so much Joey!!
Nice unit. Another fine vid. Thx for the continuing education.
Thanks ever so much
Very nice cover from the great Amy! Well done!
Thanks ever so much
Man... This was so beautiful...
it is really fun to watch Warren at work… great sound engineer and wonderful guitar player.
sorry, the other musicians too, of course :)
Thanks ever so much Curtis!
Cool! Super quality!
Thanks ever so much
Lovely cover of the zutons classic and that lady has lovely voice cheers
Warren your a master on guitar.....love it
AW shucks! Thanks ever so much!
Loving this version of the song, has an Eyes of the World vibe to it. So after the EVO 16 video and this one went ahead and ordered a Lewitt DTP 340 REX.
Cost compared to features. I now want to get into using Thunderbolt on the PC (It does a good job with Cubase with USB) but want an interface to talk direct to the CPU. Also look for how easy it is to set for re-amping if needed, How well shielded it is and how well it integrates with certain VST's.
Brilliant video by the way.
Unexpected. Interesting cover version. 👍👍👍
Thanks ever so much
I downloaded multi track...
It's fun while mixing this...
And Warren sir you are an awesome guitarist..
Aw shucks! Thanks ever so much
wonderful musicians and music!
Fantastic interpretation!
This lady can sing! Nice version!!!
Thanks ever so much Bob!!
Yes! Katie is amazing
Awesomeness love your style mixing old with new 👍 ,cheers Tony Lopez Band 😏🎸
Thanks ever so much
Warren is fired up after the Stevie Ray Vaughan video! No holding back!
Haha yes! Thanks ever so much
That Bassline!!
Thanks ever so much!
Thanks ever so much! Heavily influenced by Jaco and Norman Watt Roy
Love the guitar playing
Thanks ever so much
Informative as always, thank you. Technical question about bass frequencies; the kick is more or less "tuned percussion" - the pitch drops away a bit but there is definitely a discernible note to it. Whey doesn't that play havoc with the bass line? In the mix it all sounds good which seems to defy the reality of the individual parts? Advice hugely appreciated!
Classy AF!
Nice guitar both acoustic and electric!
Thanks ever so much!
Obrigado por sua boa vontade !
Love it.
Loving all your stuff warren, really helpful to me! I was wondering are you 100% in the box for mixing or do you ever still do hybrid?
On these he’s probably in the box because he wants people to be able to get the top of the line sounds he’s getting without having to spend a lot of money on expensive gear
Is this kinda an offload server? That is very useful, and not to forget what a voice and beautiful lady, Katie. I already have the multitracks, tonight a try-out to mix this great song. Thanks, Warren.
fantastic video
Sounds slick don't worry
How far did you pan your guitar parts apart? Did you pull them back towards the center with imager or by decreasing pre delay?
This is nice warren
Thanks ever so much
Thanks ever so much Jay
Fantastic sound, how would you compare this to an Apollo?? Aside from the plugins... Which would you choose? I’m leaning toward the Antelope but...(?)
Hi Warren! Thanks so much for this post - I own the Antelope Audio Orion Studio Rev 2017. I was wondering if you were monitoring via the Antelope Control Panel or through Pro Tools? When I try to go through PT the latency is too much to bear, even at the lowest buffer sizes.
I’m also jealous of all the new FX the updated control panel has, for some reason my computer can only handle the old version with more limited options.
I love your channel and how you present information. I hope to have you review/assist me with one of my tracks some day. That would be an absolute dream.
Cheers
Super beginner question, but on the dbx 160, when it shows the needle hitting 10 or 20’for acoustic and vocals respectively, does that mean you are compressing 10 and 20 dbs and is it common to compress that much. Thanks for your time and any responses from members.
Where did I need to upload my finished mix and master? I have already mixed and mastered the multitrack, and also completed the steps like: Follow Produce Like a Pro and Antelope Audio on Intagram, RUclips and Tweeter, and etc. But I didn't find where to uplod my finished track.
This is going to be fun to mix. What mic is used on vocals? The lewitt 1040 sure was amazing on her voice on the other video.
Every mic is the video was a JZ Mic
Hi! Who has won the contest?
Hey Warren! Could you give us some update on the contest, please? Is there already a winner? Thanks in advance!
Is there a way that I can route sends from multiple tracks to multiple individual reverbs on one aux track , but each reverb having a different eq curve (abby roads)? I want each track to route to a different reverb, and then bypass the other reverbs on the aux fx chain. I'm trying to eliminate tracks in my mix.
Any word on the mixing contest collab with Marc Daniel Nelson? I've been on a hiatus of sorts from mixing, but I wanted to check in to see what Warren has been up to :)
J'ai acheté un bundle discrète 4 + micro
Antelope edge Duo.
I am in the unpleasant position of selling the metric halo 2882 3d because I want to shoot on a pc and unfortunately metric does not produce drivers. Will this Antelop card be equal in terms of sound quality and preamplifiers? any option or help?
Have to say I love what you did with the bass, I can never quite get mine to sound the way I want it.
Thanks ever so much Gareth! I really appreciate it
Hi! Where the winner will be announced? Thanks!
Namaste sir, How to record vocals on digital domain, - 12 to -18 db or like analog world, 0 db vu sweet spot for everything, eqvals -18db in digital world ? Thanks
I’ve always recorded a little hotter because I grew up analog, however I’m slowly creeping down to where most people prefer digital to be
You can use VU meters in digital domain. But, most of the VU meters in DAWs need to be calibrated.
So, if you are new to recording and have a decent recording interface, it is good practice to record using any digital meter and aim for -12db RMS value. Not peak value.
The VU meter itself uses a form of RMS metering. You'll be in a good starting point.
Then you adjust your gain according to taste. There's no rules ofcourse.
@@jayantasarkar9671 thanks very much for sharing
It also depends on the plugins you use, but -18 to -12 RMS (24 bit file or more) is a good Value, maybe watch some videos about gain staging, that could help you a lot
spectral editing in reaper would take that click out easy peasy ;)
Haha I have RX etc as well! I wanted to show that mistakes happen. I know in the RUclips world everyone wants to look like a genius, however I’m happy to show my mistakes!
I haven't logged in for a while. Hey hey hey how are you?!
Marvellous thank you!
Warren have you ever done a bit on Alan Ternay?
Do the programs come with the interface?
You slipped in a little Charlemagne there Mr. Huart
How many “plug-ins“ does this thing come with, BTW…?
Love this! - FYI, the original version of Valerie was by The Zutons, not The Kooks
Thanks! Yes! The Zutons! Amazing
Hello! Who has won this contest? Where can I get this information? Thanks in advance to anyone who could answer me back!
I really wish I could get all the hours I spent trying to get my Zen Go to work back. Pointless tech support calls etc. It was just miserable. Bought an Audient and I've had zero problems, literally. I got the Zen Go based on your recommendation. I really think you should ponder whether you want to be recommending their stuff. I don't care how great it is for some people. Their support was terrible and they seemed to have zero incentive to fix fundamental issues with their unit.
What is this vocal trickening thick, I want to know ;)
Hi Warren, I know this question doesn't belong in here as it has nothing to do with this video, but I don't know how else than write to you and your followers I could have my question answered: In Dream Theater‘s "Room 137" on the album "Distance over Time" from 3:59 to 4:03 there is a filter, a plugin or sth. like that, that I would like to know what it is or how this sound is created ... Would you or someone else be so kind and tell me in short what I need to create this special sound? Or do you know how else I could find it out. Kind regards, Gad from Austria.
who has experience with this or the discrete 8 pro on windows 11? there's a lot of talk out there about Antelope, and it appears people either love or hate them.
Your "enter to win" link does not work...
I was looking for a new interface lately. And unfortunately I choose Antelope Audio. After two days drivers and software problems started both on Mac and Pc. Customer support was a nightmare and they ended up soft braking it and suggested me to return it. I also asked for help at FB forum and my comments were deleted. Gladly I was able to give it back and I went with RME. I wouldn’t recommend this brand for any serious recordist.
With RX you can easily remove the click 😎
Haha I know! And I have before! However, the point was to admit the mistake and be a RUclips influencer who makes themselves perfect! Haha I’m just another human being that makes mistakes
It's the Zutons - Not the Kooks - but, you know.
Mophoder
don't you mean the Zutons, not the Kooks?
Yes! The Zutons! Amazing band
Stop buying from this company because of their policy.
AAudio has totally failed to make me loyal to their products, and I was willing to.
Antelope is a failed company
I think you should ditch the intro, that song is so annoying I don't want to watch your vids anymore
She has good range, good pitch, good phrasing, but I can't stand that singing through the teeth thing.
Man the reviews a really bad for antelope..I’ll try one of their interface sooner or later, for now I have a RME babyface pro Fs, Apollo twin x duo, Apollo x16, presonus studiolive 32s, and a focusrite solo
