I feel like I can’t do it even when I set myself a schedule. I know why it’s important and I want to do it but I keep procrastinating and I can’t get myself to do it at all. It’s like a cycle of being anxious about not revising but not revising because I’m anxious and unmotivated to do anything at all besides lay in bed and worry about it.
I think you definitely need to try find a change in environment and literally force yourself into a position where you have to do work like I said in the video. I feel like you are overthinking how hard the work will be but when you actually sit down and do it you’ll be like “that wasn’t that bad”. There’s a lot of friction initially but once you actually start doing exam questions / flashcards, you’ll realise that it isn’t that hard. Start slowly and don’t overwhelm yourself so you feel more motivated to start.
I honestly completely understand. I’m literally exactly like this. I know I have to do it, I want to but I can’t. I don’t. For exactly your reason. Personally I found it helpful to talk to someone about this. Make sure you schedule in breaks, I recommend the ‘pomodoro technique’ (20-30mins work, 5 mins break, repeat 4 times then 20 minute break but in the breaks do not go on your phone) and when your studying have your phone in a superset room! I know you can do it. I believe in you 💞
i havent revised much and i have been panicking a lot recently which is made me really stressed, which is damaging my sleep and mindset. so id love it if you made a video giving your input ❤
Why are you not motivated? You may be burnt out...go everything in a good manner Is ur motivation intrinsic or extrinsic(intrinsic is better...your why?) Make studying very enjoyable Go to a cafe or library maybe Locus of control Hard workers persvere more than ppl who were told they are smart By the end of this year youre gonna pass this with flying colours You are the only one affecting the outcome Motivation is a myth, discipline is key Discipline is doing it even when u dont feel like it...work so much that it just becomes natural You are in control...no one is gonna study for you...even if ppl say they dont study dc focus on urself Have more realistic expectations and goals...or u set urself up for failure...also it helps with motivation Plan urself very efficiently Give urself some credit and appreciate urself The fact ure getting them wrong now neans u wont get it right in the exam
Your videos are so helpful, I have adhd and I suffer with many mental illnesses so this really helps. I find doing 4 subjects per day, 2 subjects you find really tricky like maths and a science and 2 you find easier like history or sports studies ❤️❤️
Thank you so much! I have my GCSEs in about two weeks and I know I have worked hard these past two years but I feel like it's still not enough but after watching your video I think it's more the fact that I lack confidence. Thank you 😊
your videos are so helpful i think u are such a good speaker and everything u say i can actually take to heart and figure out where you’re coming from. hearing you say everything about giving yourself credit for putting in the effort was so comforting so thank you for that x
Hey , I’ve got 4 weeks until exams , however I haven’t finished doing my resources , e.g : flash cards .shall I still be making flash cards . Or do you have an alternative that I can be doing right now as exams are around the corner . Thanks
As people have already said, I really recommend exam questions and past papers over everything right now. Only use flashcards for topics you’re particularly struggling with - you won’t have time to go over every single thing and that’s okay. If you have a topic that you haven’t written any flashcards for, use ones people have already made for your exam board and edit if you need to. Good luck!
iam subbing cause if it werent for miss mam right here, i wouldn't have got 86% for bio, 78% for physics and 74% for math which is a DRASTIC change from getting 40s and 50s last year. her tips are SOOOO HELPFUL its crazy; so tysfm ily!!!!!!!!
Thank you for such a lovely reminder before the exams. I totally agree that taking responsibility for studying is important. It actually changed my experience with maths completely. Once I realised that I can improve, I have changed my mindset. I read “mindset” and it helped massively before embarking my educational journey.
thank u so much! i’m in year 9 but i’m trying to improve in the subjects that i am weak at, or re-learn the topics that i find difficult on, and it’s hard because most of the days i’m just like “i can’t be bothered” but when i have that good mindset i’m just like “i need to study for my future” then i get motivation. Psychology is the subject i’m weak at, i try to study it but i don’t really get it, this makes me feel bad about myself and i start getting distracting with my phone. but biology is the easiest subject for me because whenever i learn it i understand it and memorise it then any other subject. i am also a slow learner, i feel like i can’t study more then 1 subject a day, i take like hours on it and when it’s my break i basically finish there 😂
This video was so helpful.I've been failing everything for the last few years until i came to this channel and started realising what i'm doing wrong. I am getting much better now in my subjects watching these videos that are full of tips and tricks. I love this channel!
Thank you so much, Sola! This was really helpful (and motivational :)) Seeing as i have my GCSE exams in like 20 days, i know what to do to improve in my revision
First time hearing about locus on control, that is so informative Sola! The mindset really matters when it comes to studying! We might not be the best but we could improve little by little! Thank you for the story and the tips!❤
You LITERALLY described me to a T , this encouraged me a lot definitely going to have a motivated revision day tomorrow at costa tysmm girl much appreciated😫💓
Thank you so much Sola this is honestly the best video i have come across covering this topic. U give such realistic advice and ur so right and i love how you tell us what we need to hear. Thank you so much 🥰

im actually struggling with this right now so this is sooooooo helpful tysm xxx i would love a revision video plsss i find myself not able to concentrate on studies i always end up on yt if u have any tips on how to stay focused pls do share it would be so helpful for me
I think timetable -ing has been my biggest issue, I constantly overrun subjects I'm supposed to do at certain times, I don't know how long I should study for, when to take breaks etc, if you could do a little video on how to make a timetable without straining your mind or working for 5hrs I would be most grateful Thank you for all the useful content you've been putting out 🙏 Edit: another question is, do you think it matters how well you do in your yr 10 mocks? Like, does it affect your Yr 11 gcses or mocks in any way?
I talk about timetabling more in my video about 'how to get a grade 9 in any subject' so be sure to check that out! Year 10 mocks don't really mean anything because you have an entire year to change your grade. However, you should try your best to see what your weaknesses are so you can take this into account for year 11
I don’t know how to do exam questions, i never know the answers to them and I’m never able to find it in the book, I’m also bad at technology so when i try finding the mark scheme i cant or dont understand what it says

I really recommend watching my how I get a grade 9 in science video - I talk you through how to use the specification to make flashcards! I’ll try make a more detailed video sometime in the future!
Yes, try to study in an environment where you are less distracted & in an environment different to where you relax. This means your study sessions will be more effective and you'll have to spend less time!

Use other peoples flashcards the best you can? Save time and edit flashcards rather than making a whole new batch
I think is better now to do past papers
