I play the 3 strike rule when I was flying... one or 2 things go wrong... ok... 3rd thing goes wrong? no fly day... superstitious? probably ... but I am still walking away from landings.. :) going through your videos to find more stories, kind of a VIN WIKI for flying.... thanks for sharing..
I'm sure the jets that needed to get in just went over to Oxnard. Would have been a fun discussion to talk about whether or not you can use other parts of the airport for takeoff/landing. Is it legal etc.
Piper better learn that get there itis, or going flying is never a sure thing.... so many things can delay or cancel going flying. Pushing it and going flying when you should be on the ground has gotten many pilots and passengers killed. The youngest generation was born with instant gratification, not good, you have to be smart about conditions that should keep you grounded, and alive.
It’s really frustrating trying to rent an aircraft to preflight two different aircraft and they both have issues with equipment on the MEL. I’m glad to own my own ride.
Great content, crew. I really enjoy watching Wiley coaching his daughter like a Pro. Keep posting. I am NOT a pilot, but I wanna learn. And seeing a teenager do it is very encouraging. Wiley has the perfect demeanor to be an instructor.👍
Always looking forward to another flight with Piper, Carl and producer, so I'm a little disappointed. BTW- I've been googling y'all a lot . . ., Have never heard of a family whose talents are so diverse. Can't wait to see Piper again on the "big screen".
Awesome story about the guy in the coma. That's good information to know. Information is king and made you a hero! And...glad to hear everyone is okay with the busted landing gear.

People might not realize how much it costs an airline when a mishap happens (like the seizure story). The story reminded me of a movie called "Seizure" (in name only). One of the stars of the movie was Hervé Villechaize. You should check out that movie, it was crazy. Believe it or not, it was an Oliver Stone movie.
I had a guy have a seizure right in front of me. It Absolutely freaked me out like you would not believe. I grew up in the hood. I've seen lot of violence, shootings. Etc etc my point is is I've seen my fair share of bad stuff but that guy having the seizure in front of me freaked me out more than anything id ever seen. I could not possibly imagine being on an airplane full of people going through seizures.
Watching from New Zealand love watching New pilots fly and especially girls, maybe a little bias as I have 3 daughters myself and my youngest I'm encouraging more to learn to fly the other two not interested but my youngest wants to learn...YES!!!!!
As a medic in Vietnam and had many soldiers that had PCP on board that was found to have been brought in by anti war activists. Not sure what happened to activists. There was rumors that they dropped in N. Vietnam by parachute with unmarked greens on.
Piper, You hang around the airport long enough you will see stuff like that. I saw a dad teaching his daughter to fly a Cessna 182 and they were landing a bit too fast and porpoised a few times until the nose gear collapsed. No one was hurt but the plane was totaled.
4:15 - Did they both have the fish? Which movie? Seriously, hope they were both/all OK. This video could even be used a training exercise for new aviation cadets!
A friend of mine who has a hanger at Camarillo said The gear retract gearbox had been worked on and was installed wrong stripping the gears and causing the gear to collapse under the weight of landing.
In my first month at Lewis, KLOT, working the fuel line, a Baron landed about 6”, yes, inches short, slamming the nose gear on the lip of the runway, collapsing it. I was 15 and knew, right then that I was going to like that job. Great Stories about hockey and oxygen.
Would be kind of funny if the insurance refused to cover the damage, because landing that short was most likely due to "showing off." It would never be normal procedure to land so short unless perhaps an engine had failed.
Hey Piper good to see you again. RUclips reminded me haha. Well hurry up you need to be flying A350 soon...remember Amsterdam has some of the most fantastic cafeterias near canal. And ya don't forget to bring your dad too, would be great to catch up with such an experienced guy!!
Great stories despite not being able to fly. And good that you were able to function under pressure like that to help those people. Comes from experience. BTW Carl, just out of curiosity, how many airframe hours does the 210 have?
Its fun to hear those stories. DeLand Florida airport has one of those great airport café. Burgers are 1/2 pounders. And if you are in Florida land at cedar key
Very interesting conversation -thanks! Sorry you did not get to go flying. What is that rotating antenna thingy behind your head, Carl?Sometimes it stops.
Too bad you guys couldn't fly but I really enjoyed the stories about the coma guy and the oxygen as well as the team that took the drug. Very entertaining. I'm curious about that thing that's spinning in the background if that's the wind speed device?
Keep the stories coming! Great to hear what happens behind the scenes
More coming !

I have seen taxiways used for a runway during runway repairs.
Great stories!
Glad you enjoyed it!

It’s great just sitting there listening to your conversation.
Thanks Chuck
Too bad you couldn’t fly! Awesome stories! Stay safe and we will catch the next flight!
I hope so too!
Maybe they had seizure salads before boarding...
Dan the comedian !
Nice seeing Piper and family again and such great stories from dad!
Glad you enjoyed it
Good point Piper.... It's a good thing everybody is alive and safe! Love hearing about the flight stories :-)
It really is!
It’s really frustrating trying to rent an aircraft to preflight two different aircraft and they both have issues with equipment on the MEL. I’m glad to own my own ride.
It helps to manage your own plane !
A good friend retired as a airline pilot...he had some great stories. Too bad you did not get to fly....hope that twin is fixable.

I got there the day after. Turns out they weren't even insured. Sorry you had a bad day, but they definitely had a worse one.
Ouch !
You COULDN'T wait to belly it until AFTER we took off.... :-)
Funny

Beautiful day for flying but God had other plans for you to relax and have lunch

We learn something new every day out there.
"Piper can't fly" first I thought that there is some problem with an airplane... But then I understood that it is name of the girl...
You got it !
I have had to DOA (deceased on arrival) working on the ground, thats really intense!
Ouch !!!
I couldn't fly today, the gusts were too bad. I left home and got halfway to the airport before my Instructor texted me
That happens to us too !
Forgive my rudeness. I've been watching your videos without subscribing.
No worries
Riveting story did not slow her lunch down. Cool customer. Will make a great pilot

Sorry about the flight, but great stories! 🛩️🙂👍

What a crazy story! Did you ever find out what drug they had taken?
Never did
Great lunch time table talks, as well as a great video!! Best wishes to you all. 👍🏽

👍☑️ S*ˆ% happens. Making the best of a weird day! Some of the best memories are of great stories you hear from others.
Couldn't agree more!
One month ago someone ground looped their plane right before I took off
It happens and sometimes ties up the runway.
I noticed in these videos that dad does most of the landings.
True
Sometimes it’s just not going to happen…
At least y’all got some food!!
Yes and the videos are popular from that day !
@@1capcarl
Heck we say it’s “all about the food”, now we get folks upset if we post a video without food-ha!!
Those stories make up for being grounded.
Thank you Ange !
Were you in Florida a couple days ago talking down a Cessna with an engine out, helping him land on the Freeway?
Wasn't me but good to see a safe landing !
Sounded just like you...have a great day!
Tres cool stories from Carl's past.....wow, he has seen most things for sure, happy landings;-))
Thank you MM
Flying has always been my way of getting high.

Good video hope y’all can get back flying safe
thank you

Wow...another incident. Didn't a 172 take off from camerillo earlier this evening and land on the 101?
we heard that
I could listen to you guys all day. I had flash backs of the film Airplane with Lesley Nelson, who eat the fish!!?😄😄
Classic
Sad that Piper couldn't fly. But really enjoyed listening to your flying experiences and stories Captain.
Glad you enjoyed it

Stuff happens but A good video just the same
good comment thank you
@@1capcarl you can fly next time and being in Cali the weather will be good :)
Welcome to the pilots world. It happens from time to time. You visited the local eating establishment and enjoyed a nice meal & conversation.
Yes it is part of flying !
Very interesting conversation -thanks! Sorry you did not get to go flying.
What is that rotating antenna thingy behind your head, Carl?Sometimes it stops.
I had to go back and watch again to see that rotating thingy. Good observation.
I did some research and I think it might be a bird deterrent device.
I think it's there to scare birds away but that's just a guess
It keeps the birds away
that keeps the birds away from the diners
Hi Piper
What's up?
Loved the stories! :) Shame you guys couldn't fly though :|

That's a bird copter, it keeps seagulls from landing and pooping on everything.
Randy is correct
Did you find a 172 yet? Interesting stories for sure, thanks for sharing.
They went with a 182 instead.
Yes I have
@@1capcarl Ah very good!! I hope you have better luck at the airport for your next flight!!
