Finally an honest and open review that doesn’t only give a “this is great and nothing else to be said “ approach.
@Julius Kelvin i don't give a damn
honest is expensive on youtube
@@sabriahabbas8714 very profound statement-love it
i hate those reviews lol. better to say "this sucks, and here's why"
but he didn't really say anything - it's just a regular keyboard...?
You’re literally the one reviewer that discussed wrist strain, great review and attention to ergonomics. Most reviewers focus on switches and context around that.
Yeah. I appreciated that. Is there a similarly nice-looking keyboard out there which has better ergonomics and maybe isn't as flimsy feeling with the keycaps?
TaeKeyboard did a review that mentioned that
Anthony Craig ended up buying the keychron K1 low profile red witch mechanical keyboard. I love the clacking sound it’s for home use so if you’re planning it in the office it’s pretty audible and as for ergonomics it’s wonderful minimal strain
"Switch and Click" mentioned that and every other Keychron keyboard as it they have a 5 degree incline as opposed to a more normal 7 degree incline on their keyboard. I cant justify why Keychron went with a shallower angle the only reason to justify a shallow angle is if they decide to go with uniform profile DSA or XDA profile keycaps rather than, curved profile Cherry-profile or OEM-profile keycaps which are known to have a staggered rising profile to the top of the keyboard as compared to the bottom row.
It’s bad ergonomics to rest your wrist whilst typing. It’s a bad habit.
"Guys our keyboard's too fat"
"Jon, get that plank from over there"
"and make people pay for it some big money"
Damn, that transition on the sideview profile...that was smooth.
Time stamp??
@@user-op8fg3ny3j thank you!

was that a crossfade?
I'm using this keyboard everyday since December as a developer and writer so I write a lot. And I never got any issues I have it with Bluetooth in Windows, Manjaro and macOS. I have the alluminum version. It works for me. Good review by the way
I need one for the same purpose. Which switch are you using?
@@joaocarvalho2291 Hi i'm using the brown switches those are the best for the offices.
I use exactly the same Operating Systems so this comment was like gold for me, lmao. How has it hold its ground over the last two years?

"There is a slight tactile bump that's not as pronounced as Cherry Browns"
Implying that Cherry MX Browns have a pronounced tactile bump in the first place
Seriously, you can hear the difference in if a switch is tactile or linear and lubed cherry browns just sound like linears
Cherry browns are like scratching than a bumb. Worst tactile named switch.
And implying that cherry MX are better than gaterons....like, their switches are so scratchy, I feel reds are almost more tactile that browns (although that is not hard)
he should try zilents
Yeah lol I stopped after that sentence
I'm glad you mentioned wrist strain. The V2 verison aims to fix this, it would be nice to see an updated review!
You seem to have this preconception that Gateron switches are Cherry MX clones, therefore they are worse. Which is so far from the truth. Most people would actually say Gaterom switches are equal if not better than Cherry MX switches in general. I think you're just subconsciously affected by the brand name as Cherry MX is sort of the "standard" outside the MK enthusiast community.
I like cherry better than gateron. Less finger fatigue.
@@Yt-qi9ot you may need a bit lighter switches, it has nothing to do with a brand
@@Yt-qi9ot just shows how much you dont know about switches.
Thanks for the great review. I’m using the RGB K2 with aluminum chassis for a couple weeks now. Going mechanical was a huge leap from my $19.99 low profile Logitech. I do a lot of webexes via speakerphone and work in a home office with my wife which makes the loudness of this keyboard a real issue at times. It looks great on my black desk and the lighting options are cool but not entirely practical. The height of the keyboard has been tolerable so far and no wrist issues but reaching the top row means repositioning my hands. It was a challenge to figure out how to connect multiple devices to this keyboard via Bluetooth but I’ve got that dialed in now with a worktop laptop accessed via Fn+1, home laptop via Fn+2 and iPhone on Fn+3. The text for the switches on the side is very hard to see but now they are in muscle memory so not an ongoing issue. For my setup I would’ve preferred the USB C power jack at the rear or right side. I like the smaller footprint of this keyboard since it gives me some desk surface real estate back. I’m keeping it for now
with like 50 bucks you can make it completely silent. With 17, you can still make it pretty quiet, just get some quiet switches, like some cheap Gamakay Phoenix switches. They are simple to assemble, just look up a quick tutorial on changing mechanical keyboard switches.
I'm very happy with the thickness of the K8 frame. I realize this review was for the K2, but I figured I'd post my thoughts because I too wondered how frame thickness would impact my experience. Ultra low profile keyboards often strain my wrists. Based on my observations from the video, my wrists and forearms are likely not as small as the author. I have the K8 which is even thicker and I enjoy it. I bought it because I like that I can connect my Mac, PC, and iphone to one keyboard wirelessly through bluetooth by just clicking the appropriate buttons. It is my travel keyboard. I use a logitech G915 as my daily driver, but I need to push it to the edge of my desk and adjust the desk height to ensure that the low profile doesn't cause wrist strain. It is funny how subtle differences like thickness in forearms, wrist bones, or other body mechanics can change a review from negative to positive.
Nice review. I liked the K2 so much, I got a K4, and I have a K6 on order. I recently transitioned to mechanical keyboards from Apple keyboards. I'm 75, and I was starting to hit adjacent keys and making double taps too much. I blame the big chiclet keys with not enough space between the keys...for me at least. I learned touch typing on a manual typewriter, and if the teacher caught you resting your wrists, you were in big trouble. Times change and I got into the habit of resting my wrists. I'm actually enjoying holding my hands up as I learned to do so long ago. I did build a riser out of Legos for the K4 to give it more tilt. I'm loving my Keychrons, and my typing is improving.
Glad you're enjoying it! I'm pretty much the same in the sense that I'm also fine with my hands floating above the keyboard but I do have the palm rest on order (my first palm rest was the Logitech one that I used with their MX Keys and I love it!). Your idea with the lego is genius!
Hey, havent watched a video from you in a long time, just wanna congratulate on your weight loss. You look amazing and inspire all of your viewers to follow in the same footsteps. Great job!
Returning mine after 2 weeks, for all the reasons you mentioned.
Bought one of these as my daily workhorse keyboard about two months ago, and wanted to share my own experience after watching this video.
1. Thickness. Agreed that it's too thick. Highly recommend getting a palm rest, or if you are cheap like me, using a rolled up towel :-)
2. Switches. No complains. I've used cherrys before on some high-end keyboards, and the Gateron browns on my K2 stack up well.
3. Inconsistency. Doesn't bother me. The inconsistency might be noticeable when doing a keyboard "review", but in reality, you're mostly likely to be focused on what you're doing on the screen, rather than letting you ear be annoyed by the sound difference between the enter key and the space bar.
4. Price difference between official site and Amazon. I was shocked at first too. Then I realized the price on the site doesn't include shipping, while Amazon has free (or close to free) shipping. So it all evens out.
5. Battery life and Bluetooth connection. Good enough that I don't even think about battery life or Bluetooth connection.
Overall, let's just say it's several millimeters away from being the perfect keyboard in its price range.
so I use bt. Headphones and mouse... Would this cause issues with any of them? I'm scared of dropped connectiom
Got the K2 red switch when it first launched on Kickstarter. Initially that thickness did turn me off but I eventually got used to it, without a need for wrist rest.
How's it so far ?
Would you recommend me buying it?
A lot of the complaints you list (not being cherry, click/squeeky enter key, hight, brown switches etc) are actually not issues with the board. But, rather enthusiast level details. Cherry are not worth the money in my opinion. Like at all, Gateron are great switches and are great value for money.
The squeak is purely down to stabilisers not being the best and are simple enough to replace and/or loop up. The switches are are entirely personal preference. (as are key caps).
So, I hate to say this, but comparing a custom board form Keychron or Idabao etc with a G-SKill is a little iffy.
Didn't notice the band aid until you mentioned it...
Same
I read your comment and then made it my mission to find the band aid before he mentioned it.
Mission failed.
I own the K2, and I personally really enjoy it. I haven't had any issues with Bluetooth connectivity with any of my Windows devices, whether it be my desktop, laptop, or Android phone. I have the RGB version, and the battery life has been outstanding thus far. It's lasted even longer than the advertised spec. One thing I really like about Keychron is that the developers listen to their customers and improve upon the firmware of their keyboards accordingly. The K2 has increased in functionality over time through firmware updates based on customer feedback. I own several mechanical keyboards, and the K2 is actually among my favorites. To each their own, I guess...

Repeating things already said but I like the fact that you aren't focused on the "gaming aspect" or in other words "light show" & actuation point of the switches.
Interesting review, looks like they might have addressed the profile issue in v2 and other models. What are the alternatives wireless mechanical keyboards in the same price bracket?
Are you saying "Wal-Mart grey keycaps?"

I love the form factor, I love that it's wireless, I like the overall look of the build, but all I need is hot swap-ability because I refuse to use anything other then my khail box jade switches. I can never go back.
I just got mine but I'm returning it. If you read about the customer service experiences your jaw will drop. One dude posted that they wanted to send him a replacement switch and said that he would have to solder it on. Incredible.
- Keychron is the Harley Davidson of keyboards!
- Yeah, thick and unpractical
Can you share the link to your 'custom' Varmilo? Great key cap color combination. Thanks
I'm not understanding the fascination with cherry. My gat browns are better than every cherry switch I've tried.
reply above me is definitely the type of person to buy a mac
i love my gat reds!
For starters even gat are naming their switches according to standards Cherry set. Cherrys were the original that started the mechanical keyboard craze and for the longest time were the only real choice as nothing really came close. Only in the last few years we've seen other manufacturers coming up with decent switches of their own. No wonder people still consider them to be the golden standard. You can be pretty sure every company making their own switches are comparing themselves to Cherry.

I have been using the K2 for a couple of weeks now, I switched over from the razor black widow 2 (75% version) the black widow is larger. I love it, and the foam palmrest I already have works perfectly.
I totally agree I switched back to my less popular yet more reliable, consistently clicky, & springy RK71 keyboard which I bought first.
Now where can I sell this thing for $35 dollars or so to recoup some of this $99?!
I really like these incoming keyboard reviews. I was skeptical since there are several keyboard enthusiast channels, but you guys are doing a good job. My only critique is that I think that Cherry MX are really middle-of-the-road. There are worse switches, but there are also a lot better ones imo.
I'm a total noob when it comes to mech keyboards, could you tell me what are considered to be better switches? Thanks
Parabellum all gateron and kalih are better because they are smoother and have better options
@@Scrofitto There are too many switches I wouldn't say that there is a better switch, all brand are different even clones of Cherry sound a bit different and a tactile switch of one brand will feel different from the same offer of another brand. You have to pick your flavor. The one thing I can tell you that is universal are the stabilizers at low prices the mayority are crap and they will make your big key (Space Bar, Enter, Shift) sound like crap and it won't matter which switches you use. In this video he is praising the G.SKILL KM360 because it has Cherry stabilizers too which make it sound really nice.
@@Scrofitto I find Kailh Box style switches to be some of the best. kailh box reds, for example are silky without even lube. Box Royals and Navy's are way more tactile than browns as well. Buy a key switch tester from kbdfans and try some out! It's only like $10 and is eye opening

KEYCHRON K2 :Just dropping by to contribute my review after seeing so many reviews on youtube and i finally got one.
I am a newbie in mech keyboards. So this is my first one after going through so many videos and finally deciding on this one. PERFECT.
I really like this keyboard, typing on it right now. It charges well, connects well and just wonderful to type on. I use it for programming and normal tasks,no gaming. So for people like me, it is perfect! Previously I was all out Logitech and I though they were the best, I know now. This is better!
But it is heavy. I got the aluminium base. So i dont think it is suitable to take outside.
I have a Win10 system. I use a wireless Surface keyboard and mouse with it. It uses Bluetooth to connect to. I still have problems with losing connection to the Win10 machine. So I need to keep a wired keyboard and mouse for backup until I get the Bluetooth going again.
Would love to see you guys review some more Varmilo keyboards in the future.

Your voice is like butter!!!!
your image quality is great!
As a long-time user of the Keychron K2 mini, I’ve got some insights to share! 🎉
Keyboard Height: Personal preference matters, and for me, the laying the keyboard flat with the bulky profile works just fine. 🙌
Bluetooth Performance: My Bluetooth experience was solid, with only minor gameplay lag. Not a deal-breaker! ⚡
Backlighting Choices: White backlighting is classy, but my inner ADD leans toward the colorful options. 🌈
Keycap Sets: Standard keycap sets enhance the overall experience. I’ve rocked PTB white keycaps, creating a mesmerizing light show! 🌟
Sleek Aesthetics: My current build features PTB Black keycap low-profile caps-sleek and sound-improved! 🎵
Noise Dampening: O-rings on the stems work wonders for reducing metallic clatter. Budget-friendly fix! 🔇
Switches: I’m a red switch fan, but considering brown switches for backup. Always good to have options! 🔴🔵
In summary, the Keychron K2 is a fantastic board, especially if you love customizing keycaps. And yes, hot-swappable switches are a game-changer! Which I believe Keychron carry keyboards with this layout and profile that have Hot-Swappable switches.🤓🔥
What keyboard is that at 2:20? I could make it out
I think it's a varmillo keyboard
I bought it like a week ago and I'm really please with my purchase. I used to have the Drevo Calibur V2 with outemu brown and I think that switching from outemu to gateron was really nice and also the plus of have it a wireless is just nice. I haven't noticed much of the sounds of the switches because I always use my headphones. I have noticed that the keyboard is a little bit tall, but it help with my ergonomics because it forces me to sit down straight. To summarize: I love the keyboard I just need to change the keycaps but it's hard to find ones that fits the keyboard right side and it makes it harder to live in Mexico.

Very insightful review, thanks!
Sorry but you are not supposed to type with your wrist on the desk. Thats just not how it is done. You either raise your hands up completely, hovering over the keyboard or you but a wrist rest. You can only do the wrist on desk technique on Laptops or non mechanical Keyboards
@@River_Miles even most low profile keyboards are very unhealthy...
Nothing against you, Ibra, but I have some stuff I'd like to mention.
As the main man to review keyboards on the HC channel, I'd like you to try out different options that you haven't, because by the looks of it, you are lacking some knowledge that could elevate this video and plenty of future videos you'll make about keyboards.
Mainly, I'm talking about callouts like such:
7:34 "Traditional Cherry switches" is a mention that has practically lost it's meaning within the keyboard community a while ago (although a lot of us love some of the Cherry switches), and it started to lose its meaning last year with practically every other keyboards manufacturer either making their own switches, like the Romer G and Razer's switches, but with others going with different options like Kailh switches and Gateron. Also, most of the most praised switches from the community are somewhat Gateron based like Zeal's switches that use the Gateron housing, or the currently very popular Gateron Inks. Heck, one of the best stock linear switches is the Kailh x NovelKeys Cream switches.
7:50 Your preference is your preference, but I'd love a video that explains your experience with keyboards and switches, because as far as I remember you've never uploaded a video of any 'premium' switch. Saying that, maybe give a go to a completely custom one or a build using a hotswap board or something, check out some TaehaTypes videos or something and learn new things that you could share with the audience. I'd love to watch that!
8:07 You're calling out a squeak or something - Would that be just the switch spring sort of echoing because they use Cherry profile switches on a pretty much huge hollow space within the case as far as I know (although if this is a retail version of this keyboard, expect some lesser quality switches, that'll happen with Cherry and Kailh as well because not every single switch is perfect). Also, you're comparing several keys without mentioning the stabilizers at all, might be lack of lube or a lower quality stabilizer that causes that as well.
8:30 If you'd tell someone that you have a wireless, bluetooth, mechanical keyboard that has a 4000 mAh battery and charges via USB type C for 69 bucks, I'd expect them to understand the 'unbinned' switches. For this price point you're getting much more than most keyboards on the market.
Reason I'm mentioning this is because I really like keyboard content. I've started this EXPENSIVE hobby a couple of years ago with the GMMK TKL that I've modded slightly to perform better and be quieter, and am slowly maturing it and getting closer and closer to my (hopefully) endgame set. Problem I have with the mainstream tech channels is that channels like yours, Jayz2Cents, RandomFrankP and even LinusTechTips is that while you do go for the mainstream angle and have the mainstream knowledge, if you could increase the info you can share to your audience, such as what Frank did with him diving into custom mechanicals and recently even Linus went ahead and made his own (and has some more videos on the way according to his FB), which could elevate this content, as it did in my opinion to one smaller channel by the name of BadSeed Tech.
Typing this on a GK64S (99USD for a wooden case, aluminum plate and the hotswap bluetooth board with a 4000mAh battery) with currently Kailh Box Royals (around 55 bucks for 90 switches) until Drop ships the aqua Zilents and SA Miami Night (99USD)
@NaveTGT
exactly. Nice review of his review. lmao. But seriously comparing gateron browns to mx speeds and complaining about bigger key noise which is easily fixed by checking the grease on the stabilizer bars, just makes this review seem uneducated. Also thought it was strange that he didn't mention keychron's other keyboards, the fact that they have optical switches, and hotswappable boards now.
My thoughts exactly! There are things he pointed out that were not exactly for the lack of words, right, and things he missed or failed to mention that a more knowledgeable person likely won't.
Got the blue switch Keychron K2. The first unit they sent me had actually a defective key. I had to smash down the key for it to work. They send the replacement immediately including all shipping costs by them.
Don't think it is quite fair to compare it to GSkill KM360 wired keyboard for $50 considering Keychron K2 is both wireless and wired. I got mine for $59.20 during Black Friday sale. This is my first TKL keyboard. I have to say I am quite happy with it. The main attraction for me is that this is wireless and the perfect keyboard for my HTPC. Yes it is quite fat, but I tried gaming with it and it feels fine. No windows Bluetooth connectivity issues.
Great review! I think it's the first review to mention the ergonomics and the fact how much matters the height of the keyboard
Yayayayay love the vids keep up the great work
What is that other keyboard you showed while comparing the thickness
He says it in the video "Varmilo TKL"
Those don't look like stock Varmilo keycaps though. Anyone know which set those are?
Nice review. Very helpful. Thank you.
Intending to pick up one of these as a replacement for my current Logitech K810 keyboard when that finally gives up the ghost. I really needed a Bluetooth wireless keyboard that has a 75% compact layout, had media keys, and was backlit, and the Keychron K2 was the only one that ticks all these boxes. Shame I'm not able to find a low-profile keyboard that fits these requirements as well (unless Keychron starts making a 75% version of their K1), and the thickness of the K2 is definitely rather concerning. Perhaps I might pick up a wrist rest for a 75%-sized keyboard if and when I do buy this keyboard.
I feel like this review went out of its way to find issues with this keyboard. Of course for good ergonomics you should be using a wrist support with a keyboard and have the legs extended to produce the best angle. In this configuration I have now used this keyboard for over a year and had zero wrist issues, which coming from someone very prone to RSI and similar conditions, is amazing. The switches are excellent for typing on, I have the same Brown variant, but personally I wouldn't use it for gaming, I prefer to use Red switches. The battery life is excellent, and I've had zero issues with the bluetooth connecting to any devices, including four different Windows PCs and Laptops over the last year. The RGB backlighting is excellent, easy to turn off in a more professional setting, or to customise to be less 'gamer-y'.
The USB C port is recessed, which makes using other USB cables tricky sometimes, but other than that I have no complaints with this keyboard, especially for the price. I still prefer using my Vortex Cypher with MX Silent Black switches in the office, but for working from home the Keychron K2 with Brown switches has been an absolute delight to use. The media keys are great, the layout works well for me, despite being a UK user with a US keyboard, and it feels fast and satisfying to type on.
I was expecting more from this keyboard. Bummer to hear it hurts your hands so much. I will be picking up that ERGO keyboard from Logitech you all reviewed. Thank you for that. (:
white backklight, brown mechanical switches, I'm a happy camper. Wrist rest is DEFINITELY a necessity. I own a fluffy one for gaming sessions, considering the sleek wooden k2 one though.
The BT on this board is actually flawless. I got it set up with 2 devices in like 2 mins with no hiccups.

Got one of these with the optical switches and was similarly disappointed with the consistency and feel of the switches. Sold it and bought a Glorious GMMK TKL with Gateron brown switches, and really liking that. I'm preferring how smooth the Gateron brown switches are, better than my ducky with MX browns.
For me it's another story. I used to daily drive Cooler Master Pro L with MX Brown but one of the key went bad and Cooler Master replace me with MX Red RGB instead (they ran out of Blue and Brown). I couldn't bear the linear switch and I kind of need keyboard ASAP and most of the MX Brown keyboard in the market is either out of stock or the price is just crazy for pre-built. So I decide to try Gateron Brown (without trying it out due to covid thing). And TBH I hated it, I just too linear for me.
I ended up switch back to MX Brown by order HP K10C from China and my Gateron Brown went back into its box.
Keychron K2 Version 2 - issues are already addressed. This is a great and premium keyboard for the price.
Windows PC's bluetooth functionality is a struggle to say the least. I have a dedicated PCI-E network/bluetooth adapter and it's always windows that gives me issues when trying to pair with devices.
So much this. How is it possible Bluetooth on Windows is such a dumpster fire

Bojan Peric Nice! thanks
I bought one in their Kickstarter campaign, and I have to say that the biggest complaint I have is regarding it's height. After a week my wrists were hurting badly. I was only able to use it after buying a wrist rest.
In overall I am very happy with it. Specially as it is one of the few mechanical keyboards that offer Mac keys (really actually following the Mac layout).
They're not awesome, but very good for the price, imho.
Which wrist rest did you get?
I do have the keyboard but didn't had any issues with BT or with the height of itself, might because I have big hands, nice feedback there and maybe they listen to customers like you said .. I have the brown gatereon / white lights and I'm pretty happy with it 😊

I don't have the K2 but Im rocking the K4 (numpad version). A thicker 0.75" wrist rest is a must. I haven't had any Bluetooth issues connecting to my PC, using a pcie wifi 6/bluetooth 5 card. You really should do a review on the k4/k6 which come with optical switches. Also saying cherry switches are superior to gateron switches when you have the brown switches is slightly petty. The issues you are having with the larger keys are just due to the support bracket bars needing more lube. Seems to be a QC issue. The hollow sound is indeed due to the large space behind pcb.. I had to lube my backspace and left shift key supports as the squeak was terrible. Also the white led version has less of the cool color tone that you were mentioning and more neutral.
Great review, I agree about the white and that was my LED color choice
I have the K2 version 2. I fucking love this keyboard. Going from a 30$ mechanical keyboard to this is so great.
tactile feedback that's not as pronounced as cherry mx browns..."tactile" haha

Box royals gang, literally any switch with tactility gang
@@frespects9624 even i prefer the scratchy unlubed Outemu Sky than browns lmao

you mean callous gang?
I'm typing this with a K2 right now. I also have to RGB one and I got it on sale so I got it for cheap. Replaced the keycaps for some pudding keycaps to make the RGB look better.
I've been looking for a keyboard with mechanical switches that focuses on hygiene. One that has dirt-proof switches and no cutouts on the mounting plate, not even for the stabilizers. With floating keys, so you can blow it out daily and easily disinfect it weekly, when removing the caps.
I can't believe that there are so many custom keyboards, but nobody is pushing for that. The clostest I've found to date is the Razer BlackWidow Lite.
I would recommend the kailh box switches, they are ip56 rated. Any floating key design would be able to be blown out pretty easily and if you are just using lysol wipes to clean the backplate the you should have no issues
@@trash3570 Thanks. That looks like it would be the right type of switch for a hygiene board. That just leaves open the question of a completely closed and gapless mounting plate and stabilizers that can be mounted on such a plate.
Just got my K2 from amazon. It came out to the same cost as it would have on Keychron’s website due to shipping chargers whereas I already have amazon prime.
How do you like it so far?
Careful with those wrist rests man, putting pressure on the median nerve can cause carpal tunnel
so is it better to not use one at all?? I've never used one and I don't have any sort of pain but my keyboards always've been really low.
maxix545 better not to use one and if ever, a soft one would be better than a solid one. I think most ideal is that situation though with a low profile keyboard
Зенит в кадре порадовал)
What's the other keyboard with mx speed you are using?
Also want to know
My K4 is awesome. It is angled, Bluetooth works perfectly and the sound is really good with the packaging foam inside the frame. The Stabilizers came generously pre-lubed and sound great. Sadly I have the same problem with the brown switches tho. Some had a hard bump, some were scratchy, one had a loud spring reverb, and some even were squeaky. I kinda made it better by switching switches to and from different locations so all important sub-groups sound the same.
I'm not sure you can blame a keyboard for the relative heights of your chair and desk. Most fixed height chairs and desks put the keyboard too high for typing ergonomically. This is why the old school computer desks had a keyboard tray that was much lower than the height of a typical writing desk.
Gateron > Cherry IMO
I agree. I feel Gaterons to be smoother compared to non-retooled cherry (considering both are unlubed) and they are cheaper too!
I use this keyboard with my gaming PC and I love it. I do agree with the wrist rest though if you're getting this keyboard get it with a wrist rest because it sits high.
May I ask what keyboard is he comparing K2 to? I can't seem to understand the name of it?
This keyboard is a good option for wireless mechanical keyboard for mac users. Probably not a good option for windows PC/Laptop user.
Cedric Gall it’s designed specifically with mac in mind with mac function keys. It’s alright for windows, but the designers specifically made it for mac, with windows more as an afterthought
@@jellyplayz687 From Keychron website (on the K2 product page) : "Every K2 keyboard comes with 3 specific keycaps for Mac and Windows, respectively"
@@jellyplayz687 Also @3:48
Dat Nguyen the keyboard comes, in the box, with the mac keys installed. It works with windows, but if mac keys are preinstalled, it’s pretty clear which one was the original intention and which one was the afterthought
@@jellyplayz687 true but if you can swap out the key caps + the presence of the switch on the left side of the keyboard allowing you to switch from macos to windows and vice-versa, it can't be that bad to use on windows
Windows and Bluetooth are awefull. I gave up on that.
Great review \m/
My experience: I have the K4 (the bigger one with a numpad) with Gateron Yellows, the metallic reverb isn't audible, only if I smash the spacebar and hold my head 10cm away from it, so it's no problem from a normal distance. I've about 20cm/8 inch large hands, from middle finger tip to wrist, and the height is no problem, but I don't rest my wrist that much, I'm using my forearm. For the connectivity, works with Android (in Win/Android mode) and Linux (in MacOS mode), don't know about Windows. So your concerns are legit for a lot of people but under my circumstances no problem. The only thing I'll do soon is lubing the switches for the known benefits.
