    I’ve had this keyboard from the kickstarter campaign for close to 15 months now. I absolutely love it. I, too, rock the brown switches. At times, my office colleagues asked me why I was attacking my keyboard because of the sounds it makes lol. Now that we all work from home, I would go for the blue switches. I think it is one of the best buy I made in recent years and would definitely recommend this keyboard.

      how is it years later? still using it?

    • @lsmeteor4652
      @lsmeteor4652 2 года назад +4

      @@Scofaa oh yeah, I am still rocking it every day on my work laptop.
      The only issue I’ve had so far lately is that it seems to lose the bluetooth connection from time to time, all I have to do is to flick the on/off button to reconnect it. But my laptop has also had the bluetooth driver quit a few times so that might be more of a computer issue rather than a keyboard one.

      ricky v yeah - in that I got fed up with how terrible my 5700xt worked in an eGPU on my mini, so I built an itx PC and I wanted something nice for the keyboard. This looked right.
      I don’t care about latency, I don’t do a lot of competitive gaming. Flight sim, civ, RPGs. So that aspect didn’t matter... if that’s what you were curious about.
      If not - why does it seem strange to get it for gaming?

      I use both Mac and windows and it gets annoying having the switch between the key locations when using a windows keyboard. I use a Ducky mechanical keyboard and just swapped the alt with the windows key so it matches with Macs normal key positions.

    • @fixups6536
      @fixups6536 3 года назад +8

      @@sgm11 You can use Karabiner on the macOS (free utility, very reliable and useful) to have a standard PC keyboard act as a PC keyboard when connected to a Mac. I use it this way, to map everything so I can use a PC keyboard with PC mappings on my Mac. I constantly switch between a Mac and a Linux machine, and I want both to have their keyboards mapped exactly the same way. So the mechanical keyboard connected to my Mac is mapped like a Linux keyboard (Alt close to the space bar, Ctrl in the corners and so on) and it's not a problem anymore switching between these machines. I actually do more than remap keys with Karabiner, I even remap the shortcuts to act as standard PC or Linux ones (Ctrl-End goes to the end of the document, and so on).

    Keep in mind that the Keychron warehouse is in Hong Kong. It ships from there, and if you don't like the product, you're responsible for returning it to there. Which means, effectively, there are no returns. Keychron doesn't offer a return label, so you can pony out more money than you spent on the actual keyboard, trying to return it.

    KEYCHRON K2 :Just dropping by to contribute my review after seeing so many reviews on youtube and i finally got one.
    I am a newbie in mech keyboards. So this is my first one after going through so many videos and finally deciding on this one. PERFECT.
    I really like this keyboard, typing on it right now. It charges well, connects well and just wonderful to type on. I use it for programming and normal tasks,no gaming. So for people like me, it is perfect! Previously I was all out Logitech and I though they were the best, I know now. This is better!
    But it is heavy. I got the aluminium base. So i dont think it is suitable to take outside.

    Whew... pricy, about $100 bucks after tax & all; but mechanical keyboards are a pure delight!
    Minor side note... I killed my caps lock key eons ago, and never looked back. For those who'd like to do so it's easy; go to system prefs keyboard, make sure 'keyboard' is selected in the upper horizontal menu, then click the 'Modifier Keys' button at lower right. Change the 'Caps Lock' pull down to 'No Action' & click 'OK'. Changing it back is just as easy.

    I bought the K2 V2 a few months back as my first mechanical keyboard. I like it, though I admit I do not use it often as I was convinced to get one of those cheap wired keyboards for my work laptop. The K2 V2 would only be for gaming or streaming, which I don't often do nowadays. But after the cheap one had key problems after a couple of months, I fell in love again with the K2 V2 as I worked.
    This convinced me to switch to a mechanical keyboard for work moving forward. But I chose another, cheaper model so that I don't damage the K2 V2 because my typing gets really intense during stressful work situations. XD
    Keep up the great work!

    I've got K6 with the same switches and it's great, I love it :) I don't have a version with aluminum rails but it's still very sturdy. Although it's surprisingly light for a mechanical keyboard. The biggest downside for me is the selection of keys on the very right, especially the "backlight switch" button. I hit that by accident on many occasions which means I have to cycle thru all backlight options to get back to the one I prefer. Knowing that I'd have gone for the white backlight version instead.

    One of my keyboard's feet is placed in the wrong direction (the silicon pad is not facing down, and cannot use the smaller foot). I need to fix it.
    I've got this one for years, only notice this problem recently because it was a gift to me (I didn't research before buying), and didn't need to use these feet until now.

    I’m using a WASD 87 key brown switch. I love it but it’s not wireless, which is fine in the office. But I’d rather have a wireless one on the road. Don you know if the WASD key caps would fit on a keychron? WASD has much better choices for keycaps.

    my big issue with their keyboards is the bizarre right-hand modifier key layout. Who wants it ordered cmd, fn, ctrl? Does any mac user use a second ctrl key? I would MUCH rather have cmd opt fn. The fn key is usually not user-assignable since it controls things like bluetooth, so I have no idea why they put it right there (especially since I use the em dash all the time, which is typed with opt-shift-dash-having the fn key where the opt should be drives me nuts). Unfortunately the K6 is even worse with TWO function keys on the right side! I really want to want this keyboard, but that's a complete dealbreaker for me.

    Anybody have the K2 and the Q2? I just picked up the Q2 and I love it, but there's so much height and angle (and it's unadjustable) that unless I want to add a palm rest (I don't really want to) I'm going to have to find something else. I'm thinking of the K2. I came from a Vortex Race 3 which sadly has soldered blues and strange key cap sizes, of which both are driving me nuts, but the angle of the board with the short legs works for me.
