Two easy ways to share an email to Microsoft Teams

- If you work in Microsoft Teams frequently and find yourself wanting to bring an email from Outlook into Teams to discuss with your colleagues internally before responding, you have two excellent ways to automatically share that email into a Teams channel.
When sharing an email with Teams, the email and any attachments will automatically show up as a conversation in the channel. The two ways of sending an email into Teams is 1) clicking Share to Teams in Outlook or 2) getting the channel email address and forwarding the email to Teams. The functionalities are similar but one gives you more freedom.

Nice video, for me, the drawback of sending email to Teams instead of sharing is that the discussion cannot be updated/removed, I hope that the share to teams will evolve, for example, add the sharing to an existing discussion would be great !
Pros and cons. From the other perspective, ‘Share to Teams’ offers zero way to edit the original email, which might be long or contain sensitive information. I get more detailed in this blog post: jum.to/EmailToTeams

3/23/21 The feature is not available. You cannot currently send any message or file from outlook 365 to teams by any means.

Can you forward/append new email to existing conversation in the channel?
No. It will always start a new conversation. You could reference an already forwarded email by attaching the .eml file in a conversation, though. Don’t know if it previews the email content.

If you set up a custom email address and had it forward automatically to the channel address, probably.

@Alfin you have most probably renamed the channel in the past and hence, the e-mail address malfunctions now. Had the same issue.
While I agree with this...what drives me nuts is when you give someone a task that is not using any of the tracking/task assignment features at your disposal.
How can I do this from outlook desktop?

I realize this defeats the purpose of emails to Teams but...Is there a way for the team members to get a copy of the email in their Outlook accounts?
Forward the email to their email address?

Sounds like you might need a ticket into MS. Assuming the channel exists and you have access. (Not sure if private channels support this feature, another monkey wrench potentially.)
