It’s been over two full decades and this is still my favorite song. I’ve been married, raised two daughters, moved hundreds of miles. Met, befriended, lost, and regained too many people to count. And this damn beautiful song is perhaps the one constant through it all.
This might be one of my favorite songs. Idgaf what happens, vol 1 should never be taken for granted and everyone involved should forever be proud of it.
I remember almost every single detail of the day I heard CKY for the first time. The people I was with, the house I was at, the fact that we were mad because we had no weed. It was 2002, and I hadn't quite figured out that Puddle of mud was lame ass music. CKY is one of the bands that helped me be a man who hates nickelback. CKY saved me from turning into a five finger dick pull fan. Thanks CKY, I am forever in debt to you, thank you for saving me from having lame taste in music. Hell, y'all probably got me laid without me knowing it
With the error that's in my mind And in my soul I'm driving blind I got a picture in the box That is bringing me to where I am Yet the eyes are all affixed on you not me For driving blind And the first time will be the last time That you believe You're falling as you decide Face down the whole world wide Before cannot be retrieved From all the way up here there's no end I'm flying high But the worst is never first And there's a person that'll set you straight Cancelling the force within my brain For flying high The simulator has been disengaged Indifference begins to take sides Face down the whole world wide Before cannot be retrieved From all the way up here there's no end I'm flying high But the worst is never first And there's a person that'll set you straight
@@royjameson2097 The term "the feels" is an easier way to express a nostalgic feeling of a subject that is very meaningful to you. Definitely not a woke expression, but I'm sure they say it as well.
yesss exactly, thanks. i'm trying to analyze what makes this and a couple other songs so special, it is _that_ what you said exactly. i'm gonna make some new music like that. do you know any other songs like this? what else goes on the playlist?
These music videos you’ve posted looking this good blows my mind. I’m so used to them looking and sounding like shit. You’re a god for putting these up 🫡
I remember recording this song onto a cassette off of the VHS so we could listen to it in the car. This song is absolutely amazing. It is a time machine every time I listen to it.
Some bands found a perfect comfortable groove, this was as good example as any. Brings me back to the same mix of excitement and awe when I first heard it. Nothing brings me back to early 2000s closer than this tasty lick.
Talk about nostalgia! Circa 2003 me and my friends in hs skateboarding and stealing my moms cigarettes so we could go and listen to cky, simple plan, good Charlotte lol good times 🤘
This song is so so so so so good and every time I hear it my mind is blown. I typically will listen to jt 2 or 3 times before continuing the rest of the album.
I wasn’t alive when this songs came out, but the way all of you describe it it makes me feel nostalgic for something I didn’t experience😭😭 Also this is my favourite song, by far
I saw CKY at the Tracadero in Philadelphia in 2000. This was the only song I wanted to hear live. They closed the set with it! Boy Sets Fire, Death By Stereo, and Snapcase opened up that night.
Replying to myself lol, just to say that i was really correct: CKY got famous from TV and CKY-movies from the song 96 Quite Bitter Beings but it did grow to have a real fandom too and for example the time when people could download ringtones, CKY was popular on the rock section in early 2000's and it wouldn't have been hard to find your albums somwhere, as well as you were probably on the Billboard too with Infiltrate.Destroy.Rebuild. Probably in the top 3 of foreign Hard rock bands. Many of the 90s kids remember the albums Volume 1 and Infiltrate.Destroy.Rebuild.
I forever knew the song quite bitter things, but never got onto them. Recently I heard of this song in Spotify and fell in love. As a long time follower, would you recommend any other specific songs or albums of this band? Thank you.
@juliandelapena4293 All of Infiltrate.Destroy.Rebuild. (esp. "Frenetic Amnesic"), "Lost in a Contraption", "Familiar Realm", "As The Tables Turn", "A#1 Roller Rager"
I can honestly say this is one of the most underrated bands/guitar riffs EVER!!!!! This shit is so sick makes me want to slap myself and everyone who isn’t aware or appreciates this masterpiece
One time there was an event at a skate park in Fort Worth (I think) and they were throwing out stuff & my dad caught this cd. I didn’t know what it was at the time, but in glad he caught it. I know I have it. Somewhere…
This song is about a young man who drives his car off a cliff, and as soon as he is in mid-air, he changes his mind, but it's way too late, and he ends up dead
The buddy that introduced me to CKY in 2001 just passed last night. I'm gonna be on a big CKY kick for a few. R.I.P. man. Keep on skatin'
Sorry to hear man.
Sorry to hear about your bud, Close Yet Far is always a nice tune for the fallen.
Sorry for your loss brother
Damn, I have a dead friend too about 3 weeks ago. Was thinking of him just now...
From all the way up here, there's no end. He's still with you...

My favorite CKY song ever ❤️❤️❤️
Fuck yeah! This is the one right here.
Same
I agree. It puts me in a great mood.
Truly is one of the best!
Me to
I've come back for a heavy dose of nostalgia
Haven't we all?
Brings me back to the early 2000’s skateboarding with my friends without a care in the world. Funeral playlist for sure
Inhuman ftw
@@ValCro23more human than human ❤
This song feels timeless while simultaneously taking me back 20 years ago. Thanks CKY for being the soundtrack to my life
Love this song 😢
This song is like transcendently good. Honestly an all time gem
This might be one of my favorite songs. Idgaf what happens, vol 1 should never be taken for granted and everyone involved should forever be proud of it.
All jokes aside, one of the most underrated/underapreciated songs in rock history :(
Facks
Couldn’t agree more. It’s a beautiful song. No one would think cky was capable of such a masterpiece.
I agree
Some of the best guitar rips ever recorded.
Riff kings
Facts
I agree! 👍🏻
I love their one of a kind tone!

No doubt man just absolutely sick
are they very good guitar players ?

With the error that's in my mind
And in my soul
I'm driving blind
I got a picture in the box
That is bringing me to where I am
Yet the eyes are all affixed on you not me
For driving blind
And the first time will be the last time
That you believe
You're falling as you decide
Face down the whole world wide
Before cannot be retrieved
From all the way up here there's no end
I'm flying high
But the worst is never first
And there's a person that'll set you straight
Cancelling the force within my brain
For flying high
The simulator has been disengaged
Indifference begins to take sides
Face down the whole world wide
Before cannot be retrieved
From all the way up here there's no end
I'm flying high
But the worst is never first
And there's a person that'll set you straight
Oh man...the feels. This hits me in heart pretty heavily. CKY has always been a big part of my life, I love these guys and the memories they created.
I've been hearing this term "the feels" lately, is it a new hip way to say feelings or memories? Just wondering as a non-woke person.
@@royjameson2097 The term "the feels" is an easier way to express a nostalgic feeling of a subject that is very meaningful to you.

It means feelings you spoon
Hits me right in the feels man, skateboarding and friends and not a Care in the world!!!!
Vibiest CKY song. it feels like a journey
It sure does. A sexy journey
Just rewatched CKY 2K after almost a decade. What a trip.
"Congratulations!" 😴💩
😂 how can he not smell that 💩 on his lip
Jelly? He wiped shit on my face and your talking about jelly?
JELLY?!
Miss these guys so much. I saw this line up in the UK around the early 2000s a couple of times.
Nostalgia is one hell of a drug
This song takes me straight to summer nights in the early 2000s. Chillin in somebody's driveway drinking, smoking, skating, just livin'
I’ll listen to this track on repeat. Especially if it’s Friday night and it’s vibe time.
Brings back good memories
The song invokes feelings in my inter being that I never have felt before, A little dark and depressing and happy and light at the same time.

One of, if not my favourite CKY song. Pure nostalgia to my skating years.

One of the chillest rock songs ever
I never knew this song even had a video... This makes my whole Christmas
who else is jamming this down the highway in 2023
2024!!
I've replayed this song literally like 12 times a lost song I'm so glad to have rediscovered
Some bands found a perfect comfortable groove, this was as good example as any. Brings me back to the same mix of excitement and awe when I first heard it. Nothing brings me back to early 2000s closer than this tasty lick.
been a CKY fan since early 2000s, almost 35 now. STILL LOVE THESE GUYS
One of the greatest songs I ever heard in my lifen

Thanks for the childhood
The simulator has been disengaged
Such a unique approach to songwriting here. Truly a 1 of a kind tune. Best of cky imho
Just take me back to the days
Crazy. I didn’t know bam directed this video. You can tell he’s had a love for film making his whole life
He directed all of the music videos. His brother was his hero and he had a great mind for videography.
I'm a big southern rocker but CKY is a great band, love their stuff
Happy Thanksgiving
Every song is good by these guys. A constant on my Playlist.
This song makes me think of my cuzzo Stephen. One of our favorite songs. He's one hell of a dude!!!
Appreciate the dump of classics lately lads, thanks!

This is the sickest guitar riff...😫
I wish I could make something this awesome.
I have to admit this song made me spill my water!!!!!

A song that never gets old because it takes me to the glory days
I love how Bam sped up the amusement rides at Wildwood when he was in his editing room producing the muzik video for this song.
CKY was one of the biggest hard rock bands of this era in Finland

My fav CKY song, their tuning mixed with their tone is so good but in this song it sounds so much better than any of their other songs.

I had a dream and someone told me this was the song they played at Bam’s funeral. It would be a poetic way to go….
Checking out CKY cause Tim Pool brought it up on his podcast
Talking to my friend about fucking insane riffs in unexpected places and this was the second song that came to my head.
This song is so special.
The only bad thing about this song , is that i didnt discover it sooner
Sublime 🤌🏼❤️
The best song ever❤
best music
I'm only just discovering these guys in 2024, they are so good.
I loved cky as I kid but I took it for granted how fucking good they were and how deep the songs actually are.
And just like that, im in the year 2001 again
