- We made the decision to start installing vinyl flooring in the cabin. With Rowan getting closer and closer to crawling, we need to make sure there is a safe space for her to move around so flooring got bumped up to the top of the priority list.
The flooring will not only be nice for the baby but will also be a huge help with keeping our house clean. We currently have a constant battle with dust on the OSB and once the vinyl flooring is installed we will be able to easily sweep and mop the dirt away.

Looks great. It’s going to be so nice having a floor you can actually sweep and mop. You’ll be able to keep your house much cleaner. I’m so tired of living on OSB. The dogs track sand in and it keeps the house so dusty. Great job on the installation Lori.

She tries to get the tools that are close to her then starts screaming when she gets annoyed about not being able to get to them.
@@remotelifealaskashe's going to need her own tools soon. Real tools but child size. My dad was a believer in teaching them to respect and use tools correctly vs giving them toys that they just pound on anything. He said that's why kids when they get real tools damage or break things because they don't understand how to use it

Rowan loves to talk. She's gotten so big. The floor looks very nice, I like the bright color. Your kitchen is a good size. Looks like you canned a lot for the winter. It's good to be prepared. There are metal shelves that hold 600 lbs that I put in my pantry. They hold a lot of cans and jars and everything is off the floors. Rowan will love her crawling space.
Rowan is growinggggʻ so fast shes learning she can control her vocal cords and today is loud day lol

No plans on leaving the state, but may not be on the property forever. It’s unlikely any family would move up here.

Floor is looking good! Just a thought.....the jars of food are heavy. If the shelves(tables) have narrow legs, they might put dents in the flooring. Maybe put something under the legs to distribute the weight? Your daughter is so cute!

We don’t have much of an update for a well. As far as we know they are still willing to come out and try again we just don’t know when that will be.
Love the floor. What color is it?
The color is Island.
I had same laminate floor installed and they used rolls of flooring underlayment padding with tape prior to install. Should it be done? Living in Alaska , a moisture barrier would be great.
The underlayment is pre-attached on these ones. We have installed rolls of linoleum before but we prefer the planks.
You’ll have to let me know how it works out without underlay . Because I hate buying it , so expensive.
Or is it already on the back of it.
This one is pre-attached. We have done ones without and your feet get sore a lot quicker when barefoot.
why cardboard under the stove?
We just have it there temporary so we can slide the stove around during the floor install without scratching the new floor. Once it’s back to its resting place we will take the cardboard out again.
How will you safety proof your home for your crawling baby?
When living a real life like this you do not baby proof your environment--- you environment proof your child.
Why not put kitchen under water tank instead of on other end of house? To me it makes more sence. Then you could also have living room where kitchen is.or make a bedroom for baby just my opinion. Floor is looking nice
